21.01.2022 Casual Relieving Position for a Library Officer available at Kaniva & Goroke - Band 3(A-D) We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic and pro-active community-focused person to become the Casual Relieving Library Officer for the Kaniva and Goroke Libraries. Availability of working hours at short notice including evenings for special events is essential. Successful applicants may be required to work in different locations and work flexibly to support opening hours, operations and... programs in other Wimmera Libraries. The library’s role is to connect library patrons and visitors with information, literacy, technology and lifelong learning by delivering an exceptional customer experience both in person and online. The successful applicant will have great customer service skills, enjoy working with a broad range of people, and a love of reading, lifelong learning and community connectedness that fosters both positive internal relationships and connections with the wider library community. 19.01.2022 SUBMERGED: stories of Australia’s shipwrecks @ Edenhope Library Submerged is an exhibition presented by the Australian National Maritime Museum and the Australian Maritime Museums Council and is the result of a national project with workshops held across the country to develop the exhibition and to source shipwreck stories. Sixty eight shipwreck stories were nominated by 46 maritime museums and heritage institutions from around Australia with 14 of the most compelling stories selected to feature in the exhibition. The Museum has kindly extended our loan, and we have re-mounted the display in our foyer.

The library has obtained eBook and eAudio versions of most of the 2021 English texts, from Year 7 Year 12 at Horsham College. 07.01.2022 1918 at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month - the moment when hostilities ceased on the Western Front became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war. Since then the allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of their war dead. Wimmera Libraries will be open on Wednesday 11th, and at 11am, we will remember them.
