25.01.2022 We have some exciting news to start the weekend. Casey Carroll has recommitted to coaching our A grade for season 2021. We look forward to seeing Casey continue developing our junior players and to see our senior grades move up the ladder in 2021. It’s fantastic that we have sustainability during these difficult times with our senior football coaches along with Casey recommitting to our club. 23.01.2022 We are very pleased to announce that Brendan Forssman has re committed to coach us in 2021. In more good news Brendan will be joined by Senior Assistant Coach Subali Armstrong and Reserves Coach Hayden Forssman who have both agreed to stay on board. We are very lucky to have such wonderful people to lead our club during this difficult time.

23.01.2022 Do to the current COVID restrictions unfortunately we won’t be opening the Blues Bistro this Thursday night. Hopefully the restrictions for next week will ease so we can have more then 50 people in for tea. Thank you

21.01.2022 A big happy 80th birthday to our league President Neville Whitley OAM. Neville has been President of the GDFL for 35 years and all 12 clubs are very fortunate to have Neville in the top job. We hope you have a wonderful day Nev.

21.01.2022 Unfortunately season 2020 has been cancelled for senior football and netball. A decision hasn’t been made about junior football and netball yet. I would like to thank all our coaches, players and volunteers for all the hard work in getting our club ready to play before the shutdown. Hopefully we can reconnect later in our season with a function or Thursday night teas. 19.01.2022 WFNC netballers are paying it forward this week. Time to balance up the flat feeling we all have during COVID-19. C grade squad are collecting donations of blankets, towels, food, toys (see pic below) to donate to Geelong Animal Welfare Shelter. (GAWS) If you have something you could donate please contact Angie Mawson to arrange contactless pick up and as soon as the restrictions are lifted we will organise a drop off of these well needed supplies to an organisation that does a wonderful job for our furry friends.

13.01.2022 New signings We are extremely excited to announce the signing of Tom Henry. Tom has been training with us for a few weeks and has decided to join us in 2021. Tom has joined us from St.Mary’s and will play as a forward. Welcome to the WFNC Tom. We are pleased to welcome Graeme Younger, Tim Jansen and Jake Stephenson who all signed to play with us in 2020 and have re committed to the blues for 2021. ... We are excited to welcome back Ethan Floyd and Brad Mackenzie back to the WFNC. We hope to finish our recruiting in the new year as we look forward to returning to football and netball in 2021. 09.01.2022 Thank you to the The Barwon Hotel Winchelsea for a wonderful meal and service. Our football and netball players had a chance to catch up in these difficult times. We will be back next Sunday when our players and kitchen volunteers come in for a meal.

07.01.2022 Tom King from K Rock Football caught up with Brendan after our first win in what has been a frustrating start to the season. Hopefully we can get some more wins in the second half of the season. Go Blues

07.01.2022 Thank you to The Barwon Hotel Winchelsea for a great opportunity for our players and volunteers to catch up over a fantastic meal. This was a great way for everyone to have social outing while support our local pub during these hard times.

07.01.2022 Some sad news during the week with life member Jean Hardy passing away. Jean was a wonderful volunteer for the WFNC for many many years. Jean was always a one eyed blues supporter. We send our condolences to Jeans daughter Helen, grandson Jack and extended family. RIP Jean.

07.01.2022 Football and netball training resume tomorrow night at Eastern Reserve. Football from 6pm and netball from 6.30pm. New players are welcome to join us for the 2021 season.

06.01.2022 WFNC AGM The WInchelsea Football Netball Club Inc will hold our Annual General Meeting on Monday the 14th of December at 7.30pm. We hope to have our AGM in person at Eastern Reserve but this will all depend on Covid restrictions. ... We will declare all positions vacant President, Vice President X2, Secretary, Treasurer and General Committee. Nominations a form will be available in the Winch Star, The Foxes Den Cafe or simply inboxing this page. We are looking for more people to help by joining the committee or simply volunteering some time to help us.
