13.01.2022 We are excited! the long awaited renovations to the cottages have begun, we started on Cottage 1's bathroom today, tiles on the floor and wall have been hammered off and everything stripped out, next step sand fix and paint. Will post updates as they happen.

11.01.2022 Ok, we have now finished the renovation of Cottage 1's bathroom, and we are so happy with how it's turned out !! This fresh new modern look will be a winner and it feels like there is so much more room....Next on to Cottage 2 bathroom which we will be tackling at the end of the month in between guests.

09.01.2022 The renovations in cottage 2 are all starting to come along now. All ceilings and rooms have been painted, all new power and light switches, old oven and bench tops are gone and the new shiny range hood has been installed. All the cupboard doors have been removed and Steve is giving them a make over with new hinges, paint and some decoration. We have ordered some new linen for the new triple bunks so I am looking forward to that delivery! We are starting to see more and more ...bookings and cottage 1 has been busy for the last week with more bookings over the next couple of weeks already! Steve says the cottage will come together quickly so hopefully we'll have some more pics soon. Hawker has been bustling with plenty of caravans and campers passing through and it's been great to see our little town come alive again. Between the Hawker Hotel, the Old Ghan Restaurant, Teagues motors and the General store, there's plenty of food and coffee to be found if you don't want to cook. Stay safe everyone! See more

We have been working hard to make sure our guests have a relaxing holiday, providing everything they need and a beautiful place to stay. The feedback has been amazing for our last 12 months, and we're sure it will continue to improve. We have refurbished the bathrooms and have plans of refurbishing the kitchens and bedrooms over the next coming months .... Thank you all for your support, lets make Hawker and the Flinders Ranges, an unforgettably beautiful place to stay!!!

05.01.2022 Reno Update! New floor tiles, tick, waterproofed and sanded walls, tick...

02.01.2022 It's been a long, quiet summer and now going into Autumn it should be our busiest time of the year, but of course with Covid-19 hitting the accommodation industry very hard, it's even quieter now. Unfortunately we lost months of bookings in about 5 days when the travel restrictions hit, and bookings up until the end of June and even some in September, have been cancelled giving us plenty of time to finish some much needed upgrades in the cottages. So we are adding some pictur...es of the work as we do it. We have replaced the wall between the cottages, and added a ducted vacuum system for ease of cleaning for us. The new wall is painted with a textured paint and some shelves have been added along with a new power point that has USB ports for charging phones etc while relaxing in the outdoor area. Inside so far Steve has removed the built in wardrobe between the main and second bedroom, plastered up the wall, ripped up the old carpet and started painting. We added a remote control light/fan in the main bedroom meaning our guests can get into bed and turn off the light or turn on the fan with the remote control. The ceiling has been painted and the walls have new coats of paint, now matching the bathroom that was renovated last year. We will be buying some new carpet and Steve will be building a new shelf to hang clothes from. All of the skirting boards and the door have been taken off, sanded and stained to match the new color scheme. We are really happy how it's turning up, we have lots more to do, and are currently only working on cottage 2, so that cottage 1 is still open for guests as restrictions ease here in South Australia. We are looking forward to being busy again even if it means that we won't get all of the upgrades finished. New kitchens coming next, but I'll keep you updated with pics as we go. Stay safe everyone! 02.01.2022 Come along to the 1st Hawker Flindersfest...Looks like it will be lots of fun !!!

01.01.2022 Our renovations are coming along at a fast speed. The main bedroom walls and ceiling have their new paint, we have added USB power points to the bedrooms seeing as how most people have multiple things to charge these days. The tiles in the kitchen have been taken off, ceiling and walls in kitchen/lounge all patched up and ready for painting, old exhaust fan, oven and light fittings removed. We purchased the new carpet yesterday for the bedrooms, new mattresses for the new triple bunks, tiles for the splash backs in the kitchen etc. And we have just received 4 fantastic bookings over the next couple of weeks for cottage one and the way things are going, we might only just get cottage two finished and cottage one will have to wait for it's turn for a make over!
