25.01.2022 Breed season is in full swing at Windarra Park!

24.01.2022 Wishing all our clients a very happy and safe Easter!! May you get to spend lots of quality time outside with your four-legged friends (since there aren’t many other options anyway ). From all of us at Windarra Park & our star surgical patient of the week, Missy!

22.01.2022 We are experiencing another outage this morning :( Hopefully the line will be fixed or diverted asap. Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience!

20.01.2022 Happy Hump Day! Well this little lady has definitely made it over a huge hump. Barbara came to us very unwell, and spent a few days in intensive care (assisted by one orange feline nurse!) before improving and being able to go home. With much dedication from her owners, Barbara has made a full recovery and now doubled in size! Best update and photos we could have hoped for

19.01.2022 You may have noticed we have been a little bit quiet on social media lately... mostly because we have been super busy and these cute little time wasters don't exactly help the situation ;) Breed season is still going strong, but we are taking our final bookings for new mares this week. If you are still considering breeding this season please contact us ASAP to book in your mare. Bookings and enquiries for next season also welcome.

18.01.2022 Hello? Just thought we'd let you all know that we are upgrading our phone system. As expected with new technology, we are experiencing some teething issues but are hoping to have these all resolved as soon as possible. If for some reason you cannot get through to us or we accidentally hang up on you (sorry!!!), please try us again or allow us time to call you back. If you can't get through to us and have an emergency, please use our after hours paging system on 8378 3712. We apologise for any inconvenience but look forward to having a much more reliable phone service!

17.01.2022 Well it's no secret we love treating foals... even if they do arrive totally out of season! The hard work and sleepless nights are all worth it when we get to send them home bright and happy!!

17.01.2022 We love getting updates and photos from our clients - please keep them coming! This gorgeous girl took a bit of effort to make as her mum was playing hard to get (in foal). But with a great attitude of the mare (who would trot up to the crush!) and the owner (who helped with final procedures on Xmas eve) - together we got a great result . This super filly, now relocated to ACT with her owner-breeder, was winning numerous shows and state titles and we can't wait to see her back out and follow her success once conditions allow!

16.01.2022 We are very excited to welcome Vet Nurse Naomi (Nomes) Wigzell to our team at Windarra Park :) Nomes has been a veterinary nurse for the past 8 years, working predominantly in the equine industry. As such, she comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Nomes has spent the last year working in a small animal clinic, but missed the big guys so much she decided to cross back over and join our team! We look forward to working together to continue providing the best service we can to all our clients and patients.

11.01.2022 Happy 2nd birthday to this little challenging patient!! Kitty (Kiahglenn Catwalk) had a rough start to life, being born prematurely at 318 days gestation, she was a tiny foal struggling to walk due to contractual and angular limb deformities. She required a plasma transfusion as a day old foal as she did not receive enough colostrum from her mum and hefty leg bandages (and the occasional ride in the wheelbarrow!!) to help her get around. To make matters worse, she developed a... septic joint when she was a week old and required surgery and intensive treatment. This little cat has used up a few lives by now, but with her very dedicated owner Janita Edwards has blossomed into a beautiful little filly with no signs of her early struggles other than being a limited-edition Miniature Stock Horse . We love being able to follow our patients' journey through life and see how all our efforts and sleepless nights pay off! See more

10.01.2022 PSA - when leaving the clinic please check for free loaders

08.01.2022 Because two are better than one!! A heart warming photo for a cold rainy night These two fillies are full sisters, born 30 days apart. Only one is suckling from her actual birth mum... the larger one was our first embryo transfer, carried and raised by a surrogate mare who did an excellent job. But little miss ET clearly thinks she is just as deserving of a drink from her genetic mum as her younger sister, and it would appear mum is quite happy to have them both! We always love receiving updates like these from our clients - thanks so much Maddie, you have three gorgeous girls here

08.01.2022 We are not sure where the time has gone, but this week marked 4 years since Windarra Park changed over ownership, and we celebrated COVID-style! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our valued clients for their support and loyalty, and to Andrew and Lindy for their ongoing guidance and assistance. Wishing you a happy and safe long weekend!!

07.01.2022 For anyone else working extra hard around EOFY, hope this photo makes you smile like it does for us! Love seeing our patients, Reggie (Regal Classic, Amanda Evins) and Keeps (Winmallee For Keeps, Melanie Sabeeney) clearly having a good time :D

04.01.2022 Hope everyone has had a lovely long weekend! As you all know, Rachel finished her position with Windarra Park on Friday so for the next two weeks I will be nurse-less. Please bear with me while I attempt to multi-task consults, surgeries, general chores and reception duties. The phone will either be diverted to me or the paging service - if I cannot take your call please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Please give me extra notice for collection of medications or if you need to stop by the office. For non-urgent inquiries you can also send a FB message or email :) Thanks for your patience and understanding!
