23.01.2022 ++ FRIDAY FEATURE PRINT ++ Namba Parks #1 travelimage.com.au/product/namba-parks-1... Namba Parks is a modern shopping complex in Osaka, Japan. It is an amazing display of organic architecture that features a rooftop park scattered with large mature trees, that ascends eight levels of the complex. The view from the top-level gives visitors the feeling of standing on a natural mountaintop, right here in the middle of one of Japan’s busiest cities. When I was taking this shot, I had my camera fixed to my tripod, pointing to the ceiling, with the LCD panel flipped down acting like a modern periscope. I walked around much of this space, shuffling left and right, rotating and twisting until I found the composition I was after. I received many confused looks from shoppers and staff as I worked my way through this shoot.

21.01.2022 ++ FRIDAY FEATURE PRINT ++ Skeletal Serpent https://travelimage.com.au/product/skeletal-serpent/... Gardens By the Bay East is a great location to capture a panoramic shot of Singapore. From here you can capture the Marina Barrage to the left of frame, the Gardens by the Bay, the Marina Bay Sands hotel and city buildings in the centre of frame, across to the Singapore Flyer and continuing city buildings to the right of frame. It’s an expansive city view. And while I did indeed capture that shot while here, it was the incredible architecture of the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome structures that really drew me in. These are amazing looking buildings and as the first light rises across the horizon, they look all the more stunning.

12.01.2022 ++ FRIDAY FEATURE PRINT ++ Full Moon Over Wanaka travelimage.com.au//full-moon-over-lake-wanaka-wall-prints/... 30x30" Fine Art Print ON SALE until December 31, 2020 This majestic lake is made all the more beautiful by the solitary tree that stands alone a short distance from the shoreline. This image was taken at Christmas while my family and I were spending a few days in Wanaka. I was keen to capture this image as the first light of the day started to glow above the horizon (as were many other photographers). I arrived at the lake about half an hour before sunrise to discover that the Wanaka Tree was covered in Christmas lights. It was quite a sight, but at the same time, quite disappointing. As attractive as the lights were, they didn’t feature in the image I had previsualised of this scene. Thankfully, they shut off just as the sky began to fill with colour and I was able to create this and a number of other images of this incredible vista.

02.01.2022 ++ FRIDAY FEATURE PRINT ++ See the Light [Boulder Beach NSW] travelimage.com.au/product/see-the-light... "It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light." Aristotle I love this quote from Aristotle and I think it rings true for what a lot of us have gone through this year. This shoot, this image, was the first time I had ventured outside my house to shoot anything after the COVID-19 lockdowns began. I didn’t realise just how much I had missed shooting until this particular morning when I was sitting alone in the dark, watching the sky slowly being illuminated by pastel colours, ahead of the sun breaching the horizon. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted and the isolation funk I’d been in had magically disappeared. In reality, during this shoot, I was probably more isolated than I had been during the lockdowns. I was shooting by myself with no one else around, except for a few surfers bobbing in the ocean waiting for the miniature waves to increase in size and intensity. Somehow though, just being out in nature, with the waves lapping at my feet I felt more connected than I had in a long time.
