She reminded the communi...ty that #Rotarians are 100% Volunteers serving above self with the little resources available on them. She later thanked the community people for coming in big numbers and carrying along their children to get treatment. In a special way she appreciated the women for coming in bigger numbers for the medical health check ups. 09.01.2022 Stella and the team recently visited the Kisaabwa Primary School in Bukomansimbi, collaborating with the Rotary Club of Kololo-Kampala, to understand the needs of the school, and more importantly the needs of the students. The majority, however, have not paid the UGX24,000 school dues. Stella has committed to covering the fees for for the 10 best P6 pupils next term and beyond, and depending on our committments to other projects, will expand this where possible. Winds of Hope... will also support the local Rotary Clubs project to construct a new concrete floor to replace the bare earth floor on which the school currently sits. http://www.windsofhope.com.au//2019-Kisaabwa-Primary-School

08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Whilst we don't publicize these very much due to privacy of those impacted by cancer and other ailments, one of the most important activities we perform in Uganda is providing in-home support to patients and their families. Here in Australia we take a lot for granted, especially medical care, government-based healthcare services and financial support for those unable to work.... Unfortunately this is not available in many countries, and certainly not in Uganda. Our team in Uganda, where possible, visit our patients regularly providing a range of in-home care services. This can be as simply as counselling, to providing meals and essential household items, and in some cases financial support. These patients are often overlooked, so were doing our part to help out. Lets work together to help more people wherever we can. Regards, Stella Nakato and Matthew Proctor

05.01.2022 Hi everyone! Since face coverings have become a way of life here in Melbourne, we have a range of amazing 2-layer and 3-layer (with filter pocket) face masks available via our online store. https://shop.windsofhope.org.au/ ... They are handmade by our friends at Yimba in Uganda, and help provide valuable employment opportunities. All proceeds from the sale of our masks go to Educational, Healthcare and Vocational training programs in Uganda. Whilst many of us are complaining that we cant go out for lunch or dinner or a movie during lockdown, entire communities in Uganda are struggling with the basic necessities including food. This is our way of doing a little bit to help whilst we can. Matthew & Stella
