24.01.2022 This morning's challenge, and I'm not using that term lightly. Getting a couple of 23m timber Poles from Chullora to Bundeena. Thanks to the awesome pilot's tha...t guided me especially the section from Loftus to Bundeena. I used the Scania with the extendable trailer, even though trailer could go to 21.5m I had a permit to have it at 19.5 with extra overhang which im glad because there was a few tight spots. Once I got the trailer into the first unload spot the street was that tight I had to unhook so a crane at each end could lift off, once the first pole was unloaded I had to then reverse back out of that street, I could shorten the trailer up alot more which helped me alot backing out, the fabricator in the Windsor Freighters workshop modified one of our bolsters with rollers and it worked a treat, shortened down to 15m which meant there was a fair bit of overhang but the next Pole was going one street over and it was even tighter again. But got the job done, was actually alot of fun I really do enjoy the challenge of these sorts of loads. (Descriptions in each pic) See more
