23.01.2022 Exciting news: the old council depot on the corner of McDonald Road and Blackmore Street has been transformed into a wonderful greenspace! What would you like to see this land used for? So far suggestions have included a dog park, public basketball courts, picnic area, community gardens - what else can you think of?

22.01.2022 The North Brisbane Bikeway at corner of Mawarra St and Albion Rd near Arlette’s Kitchen is open. It’s been a good week for North Brisbane cyclists with three intersections on the NBB completed.

22.01.2022 Oppose the 4am - 2am "High Impact Concrete Plant" application here: http://tiny.cc/noneilsen If this proposal concerns you, let the council know that operating 22 hours per day, 6 days a week is unacceptable and the application should be denied. If you have already made a submission, you should re-submit your objection referring to the most recent 22/6 amendment so that your opinion is still taken into consideration. 19.01.2022 New outdoor gym next to McDonald Rd. Would you like to see more park upgrades in the future?

18.01.2022 ALBION EXCHANGE DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION Please be aware that an article in todays City North News (18/10/18) about this proposal has a significant error of fac...t. The article says that Approval has already been given for State (sic ) One of the project, comprising two residential towers and commercial facilities... This is absolutely not the case. The State Governments development partner (Geon) has lodged an application with Council for two towers (supersized to borrow the words of Minister Mark Bailey) to be built on the site of the existing train station commuter carpark that can be seen on the Councils website at pd online. The application number is A005013244. Please also be aware that the article today quotes another DA number of A005035465. This is a complementary application for, amongst other things, essentially a zoning relaxation on all the State Government owned land in the corridor. Ill leave that aside for the time being and focus in on the twin towers proposal (A005013244). I hope this isnt too confusing. Council has provided a response after an initial review (Information Request dated 15 October) to the twin towers Application advising that the proposal is not supported in its current form. The proposed building height is inconsistent with the intended scale of form of the locality.... Its a 13 page letter of issues the applicant will have to address and any response may trigger additional requests for information. In short, there is a long way to go in the consideration of this proposal and it is certainly not the case that any approval for the first stage element of two supersized twin towers of 30 stories and 23 stories has been given as stated in todays article.

18.01.2022 In these times of uncertainty, it is most important that we strengthen our sense of community by showing compassion and kindness to each other. If anyone in the neighborhood needs support, send a private message and we'll do our best to help.

14.01.2022 What good is a city plan if it can't be upheld in the court of law? Matthew Bourke and Brisbane City Council said extended operating hours would "exacerbate impacts of noise and air emissions due to the increased intensity and prolonged activities associated with the operation of the facility," in contravention with the Brisbane City Plan 2014. Email your representative and express your concern: Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, Cr David McLachlan, Cr Andrew Wines, Tim Nicholls MP... and Trevor Evans MP #cleanupwindsorpark

04.01.2022 Nielsen's Concrete have been operating outside of hours for years, causing a tremendous impact on the community. It's time for them to go! Contact local councillor Cr David McLachlan. Contact details: https://goo.gl/hdhpcg

04.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE: We've received news that Neilsen's Concrete has appealed the rejected application to operate 22 hours a day. We call upon Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner to uphold Brisbane City Council's vision of a "clean, green and well-designed city". High impact industrial activity belongs in an industrial zone, not a densely residential area. Community objections aren't taken into consideration during the appeal process but you can email your representative to stand up fo...r you on your behalf: Cr Andrew Wines, Cr David McLachlan, Matthew Bourke, Tim Nicholls MP and Trevor Evans MP #cleanupwindsorpark

03.01.2022 Exciting news: Victoria Park Golf Course down the road will be transformed into the citys largest public park in over 50 years, set to rival the likes of Central Park in New York City and Hyde Park in London!

02.01.2022 Great news! Brisbane City Council rejected Neilsen's disastrous application for extended operations. As mentioned by Cr David McLachlan "the proposal caused concern for a lot of residents during the assessment phase I thank them for having their say and helping us achieve the best outcome for residents." Thanks to everyone who made their voice heard. It's time to move high impact industry out of Windsor Park!
