22.01.2022 Wally’s made a comeback!

22.01.2022 For those still deciding... Should I buy an LT? Here’s a review of the Windsurfer LT by Windsurfing UK Magazine. They were just as stoked as most of us longboard lovers to see the rebirth of the Original Windsurfer Brand. They also had good things to say about the rig - Shame they weren’t using the Windsurfer rig in test video shown, as it performs much better than you would expect and a great match for the LT. Satisfaction guaranteed for all but the most hard line speed fre...aks. It is purely a fun machine to ride, a cool cruiser, a great learner board and a competent one design racer sure to please anyone who loves time on water, uncomplicated enjoyment like we did in the old days. Not having footstraps is a master stroke of the brave design decision to ensure the old school concept remains true. No straps clear the decks and frees you to get the most out of the board and rig. You engage with the ride and become as one with the wind rather than being locked in. http://www.windsurfingukmag.co.uk/old-school-new-school-en/

22.01.2022 Some good old fashioned Windsurfer action from 1991.

20.01.2022 Here’s another in my series on how to sail. Launching your LT. Much simpler than launching a yacht it seems!

20.01.2022 Here’s some news on development of foiling classes and reference to the LT with a photo of the 2019 Toronto Nationla Championships. Well worth a look. https://youtu.be/6G7gg-PuLTo

20.01.2022 Check out our sponsor's at Starboard teaming up with Matty Schweitzer and the Maui crew to make this. The new Windsurfer LT planes out much faster & easier ...than the old stock windsurfer. With the lighter design & increased volume, this is a very user-friendly board for the masses. With this type of board, this could be the key that is needed to give windsurfing its much-deserved comeback in light wind conditions! Matt Schweitzer the living legend who´s father invented Windsurfing. Matt won his first World Championship Windsurfing title at the young age of 16 and is considered being one of the most historical and influential windsurfers all time. 17.01.2022 Here’s a lengthy but very thorough and informative look at setting up your LT and techniques for better results when racing. Check it out!

16.01.2022 Here’s a collection of old school windsurfing magazines... the earliest one is 1984 with a few references to Aussies Mark Paul and Scotty O’Connor! Worth a browse to learn of our sports development. Also some pics of a 1984 hydrofoil marketed and designed for longboards to slot into centreboard case.

13.01.2022 Here’s some great basics tips from Cookie He has a good series of videos on YouTube. Here’s a guy who does some really excellent videos on windsurfing basics. This Fast Forward video shows us how the basics from day one of learning are applied even at advanced level. Mentioned in the basic start windsurfing book I’ve loaned Eliza. Will try to get an electronic copy to you all. Watch the other videos he does as well, tips on harness lines, tacking gibing, reducing strain on ar...ms when in harness etc. VISION - face where you are going - not at your feet. TRIM - keeps the board flat feet on centerline when going slow moving outboard when going fast. Everything in windsurfing relates back to trim - particularly balance power and stance BALANCE - extended front arm, keep rig away from body and counterbalance the rig. POWER - channeling power from rig through the board for speed using back hand for power by pulling the rig in, front hand away from body also helps with this, as power increases (stronger winds) pulling rig in back and down. STANCE - positioning our body to control our situation. Eg. Dropping hips and leaning back with straight arms to accelerate in stronger winds. Straighter body for going upwind and in lighter conditions maintaining a nice V between your body and the mast. https://youtu.be/co1LTl5JHG4 Enjoy! Al https://youtu.be/co1LTl5JHG4

11.01.2022 Here’s an interview with Bruce Wylie by Daily Dose in Germany. English and Deutsche translations available here... shows a few of the early LT prototypes.

11.01.2022 Here’s a few recipients of recent shipment!

10.01.2022 WINDSURFER WORLDS, PERTH 84/85. This is one well produced video! Great times! I did my Windsurfer Instructors Course in Sydney in 1983 with Tom Ludecke in the group. He was in top form on the Windsurfer then as well - Far better than me. Great to watch the battles on the water with plenty still involved in the sport! Bruce Wylie secured the Men’s Pentathlon World Championship, yet another Lake Macquarie boy with a World Title on a Windsurfer! Fantastic control by so many worl...d class sailors with those long, old school booms! A few good old school rooster tails on display here on downwind reaches amongst a huge field of internationals. Balancing the centreboard on the arm, so much easier these days with retracting Centreboards and the LT’s. Terrific efforts from so many Aussies including Mel Webb, Greg Hyde, Bobby Willmott, Tom and Bruce each winning a gold medal, with Johnsy, Brad Hiles and John Buick doing well. Gees I hope the late ‘21 Worlds in Perth goes ahead and we get a good international roll up. Can’t wait to get back to Perth again - Can’t believe I didn’t go to this instead of slogging it out at Bayswater Power Station Construction (150km from the Nsw Coast) and the occasional sail on Freshwater Lake Liddell (recycled Power Station cooling water with a terrible metallic taste). I did get to see our America’s Cup however in 1987 and managed to have an awesome time on my original windsurfer and custom shortboard travelling round Aus. Bought a one design in 1988 after returning home. The Swan River and the Fremantle Doctor make for an awesome sailing spot! https://youtu.be/DYd2CkdetD4

08.01.2022 A few TASC Windsurfers enjoyed a picnic day at Rathmines Park last Sunday. A terrific mid summer outing!

04.01.2022 Some Lake Macquarie news and some history of a local kind...

03.01.2022 Ahh the 80’s! With some great surf sailing modern footage thrown in. Makes me want to head west young man again...
