19.01.2022 The sixth episode of Artspiration draws us into the tale of the incredible Rising From The Ashes project. This work acknowledges the unique role the arts can pl...ay in assisting communities recover from collective trauma, in this case in response to the declared national natural disaster, the 2015 Northcliffe bush fire. Southern Forest Arts Fiona Sinclair gives us the full story, from the experiences of those in the town during this crisis, to the shape and power of the work that exists today as a testament to the strength of Northcliffes community bonds. __________________ Artspiration is an initiative of The Creative Grid project through the Regional Arts Partnership Program #rappnetwork supported by the State Government of WA (Culture and the Arts, WA, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries) and Country Arts WA. 19.01.2022 The granite on Mt Chudalup is coming alive after recent rains, the mosses and lichens are looking vibrant and the wildflowers are coming up - Verticordia is just starting to flower!

18.01.2022 Yes, we now have a 'lap pool' . Well, the frogs see it that way. Great to sit on the deck and listen to the trickling water. I made this mosaic about 20 years ago. The stainless steel trough was cemented on a stand in the back yard of Jack Carns' hut at Windy, love to know where he got it from. I took it back to Pemberton and set it up as water feature, then, 10 years later brought it down to our Windy hut - now, relocated to Tiddely Pom.

18.01.2022 Preparing to open bookings soon.

15.01.2022 Tonights glorious sunset brought to you by Windy Harbour, DBCA prescribed burns and Western Power unplanned outages.

14.01.2022 Why we love Northcliffe #42 - An hour's drive from Northcliffe is Mt Frankland, one of the most beautiful of SW's granite peaks (along with Mt Chudalup of cours...e!). You can detour to Mt Frankland on your way to Walpole as an alternative route to the highway, or for us it's usually a daytrip to explore Fernhook Falls and Mt Frankland. There's walk trails, gas BBQ's and picnic areas at both places so it's a great day out. At Mt Frankland, visit the Wilderness Lookout overlooking the Walpole Wilderness Area, follow the 2.5km walk trail around the base of Mt Frankland, or tackle the Summit Walk. The Summit Walk is only 600 metres - there's a couple of ladders and plenty of steps involved to get you to the top! The view from the top is stunning, and this is one of our favourite places for sunset. See more
