23.01.2022 our cellar door Undercliff Winery was built in 1993 to produce 1500 cases of premium hand made Hunter Valley wines per annum and also to function as a gallery. It is nestled in a tranquil valley only 1.5 kilometres from Historic Wollombi Village. The building was drawn to compliment the existing heritage values of the Undercliff Estate. The external slab walls superbly set off the cedar cathedral ceilings and the exhibited paintings. The wine making equipment was built specifi...cally as was the 6 metre table used for vintage lunches and other functions. Undercliff Vineyard was established in 1990 with Semillon and Shiraz varieties that thrive in the rich alluvial soils. An olive gove was also established. More recently other grape varieties have been planted such as Chambourcin, Chardonnay and Muscat. We are well know for our artistic bird labels. Undercliff was proclaimed and settled as a farm in 1846 and still retains the original timber slab sheds and homestead, the latter is now unique accommodation for guests named Settlers Cottage. The clay quarry for the 19th century Wollombi brickworks is adjacent to the vineyards and is now a billabong fed by a subterranean water table providing irrigation for the vineyard. Undercliff Winery is a member of the Wollombi Valley Wine Trail and hosts Sculpture in the Vineyards an annual event in spring. Sample award winning Hunter Valley wines whilst browsing the gallery, gift shop and local produce at or cellar door that is open daily 10 am to 5pm. Peter and Jane Hamshere, owner operators will make you most welcome

23.01.2022 Our name Latitude 34 Wine Co reflects our geographical location and pays tribute to the early maritime explorers and traders who passed by our corner of the world centuries ago. Bounded by oceans on three sides, our wine appellations experience a distinct Mediterranean climate often likened to the Bordeaux region. http://latitude34wineco.com/

23.01.2022 Trandari Wines is a specialist producer of high quality Nebbiolo and Shiraz wines from the Hilltops region of New South Wales. The Hilltops region is centred on the major provincial centre of Young and enjoys a growing reputation as a source of high quality wines. Production is based on organic viticultural methods and our goal is to provide hand crafted premium wines which are a natural expression of both vineyard and season. The climate of the Hilltops region is assessed a...s being ideally suited to the growing of the Nebbiolo variety. Vintages in our Nebbiolo range consistently display good varietal character and restrained tannin structures suggesting that this judgement is well placed. Affordability is also a key consideration and we invite you to further explore and appreciate the distinctive quality of Trandari Wines by visiting our cellar door at the Taubman and Webb Trading Post on either weekends and some public holidays or by appointment at the vineyard. https://trandariwines.com/

21.01.2022 Wollombi Village Vineyard was a project created by husband & wife team Alan & Maria Roe. They purchased the vacant block in the centre of historic Wollombi in 1988 and had visions of doing 'something' to help create more interest for the tourists that often visit this little town that seems to exist in a virtual time lock. The first paddock of chardonnay vines planted in October 1996. Shiraz were planted in 1999. The idea was to keep with the traditional Hunter Valley family ...run vineyards, with the Mediterranean influence from Maria, who is Italian. The vineyard now produces chardonnay, shiraz & rosé wines. September 9th 2006 saw the grand opening of Wollombi Village Vineyard's Cellar Door. Whilst it was expected that lots of cases of wine would be sold, sales were even higher than anticipated, and there were only 4 bottles of their own specialty liqueur limoncielo left! As the authentic Italian family limoncello recipe 'limoncielo di Wollombi' (Italian lemon liqueur) & 'limoncielo alla crema di Wollombi' (Italian lemon cream liquer) proved so popular, other recipes were added, including dolzetto (fortified wine) both red & white (also available in fantastic Bendigo Pottery crocks as a fundraiser for St John's Anglican Church Wollombi built circa 1840s), amaroe which is a bitter-sweet digestive liqueur, various fruit (seasonal) liqueurs and the caffe range of coffee liqueurs. Open Saturday (9am - 6pm), Sunday(9am - 4pm) & long weekends only, with both Alan & Maria usually there, Wollombi Village Vineyard invite you to visit us, in the heart of Wollombi, next door to the tennis court. Our cellar door is air conditioned for your comfort. http://www.wollombivillagevineyard.com.au/ See more

17.01.2022 Wollombi Brook begins life as Congewai creek in the Watagan Mountains and meanders through over 90 km of valleys to join the Hunter River near Singleton. We are privileged to share 1 km of its banks. The densely grown banks of the river provide a haven for a large range of wildlife. The property today consists of eight of the original allotments attached to the then (1830’s) growing Wollombi township. At times being used as the town sports field, floods in the late 1880’s put... an end to Wollombi’s expansion and the land continued life as farmland. The land has seen numerous farming activities, from grain crops, an orchard, sheep, cattle and for a time a dairy. The first vines were planted in 1994 and all the vineyard work is carried out by family members so there is a close personal interest in producing the best possible grapes. Our 25 year old Semillon and Shiraz vines receive little or no irrigation so yields are usually low, around 2 tonnes per acre. As a result, the focus is on quality and not quantity and no insecticides are used by Wollombi Wines at the vineyard. Planting The first vines were planted on the property in 1994 and what started as a passionate commitment to produce the best Hunter wines continues to this day. Picking Usually occurs in late February and early March. At harvest the bunches are selectively hand picked with one intent the best possible quality. Due to our huge bird population, we net the vineyard prior to ripening, so we can happily co-exist with the birds! For bird lovers the count to date is 91 species. https://www.wollombiwines.com.au/

02.01.2022 Easing of COVID restrictions to allow vertical consumption of alcohol outdoors as well as drinking and dancing at private functions in licensed venues. Licensed venues such as pubs, bars, wineries and cellar doors will be able to have patrons drink while standing up in outdoor areas only. Transitioning from seated to standing consumption is something that has been advocated for strongly by the hospitality and hotels sector, and while limited to outdoors, it is another fan...tastic step forward in the recovery of our visitor economy. I know it will mean a lot to many operators across our state, and also to event organisers who are reimagining how to deliver their events and festivals. Also effective from midnight tomorrow, people attending private functions such as weddings will be able to dance, as well as drink while standing, with the function capped at 150 guests. Private functions mean there is a defined guest list, which assists with contact tracing should it be needed. In making today’s announcement, the Premier Steven Marshall said these decisions are commensurate with the changing risks. https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/recovery
