Even with one of the lowest crops in decades (albeit brilliant fruit) Australia’s Most Collected Riesling and 11th Most Collected wine in Australia always finds a home in cellars at Wine Ark. 02.01.2022 The terrifically tremendous Tasmanian 2019 Tolpuddle Chardonnay was released this week. Located about a 20 minute drive from Hobart, in Tasmania’s south-east, the Coal River Valley has established a reputation for growing exceptional quality grapes. With a climate that is at the cool extremes for viticulture, it is no surprise that Chardonnay performs so well here. For those new to the Tolpuddle story... The Tolpuddle Vineyard was established in 1988 with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The fruit was acquired by Penfolds and Hardy’s for their top tier Chardonnays. In 2011, Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith (Shaw and Smith, Adelaide Hills) the cool climate masters - stumbled across this vineyard, it had all the hall marks of a unique great Australian single site. So they bought the vineyard! Tolpuddle was born. Hit up hour favourite retailer or wine storage provider for stocks, it is limited to don’t delay!
