22.01.2022 Introduction to Wine Level 1, Sydney The first part of our most popular course Introduction to Wine is the perfect way for all wine lovers to develop their knowledge and understanding. Whether you are a complete novice or something of a connoisseur, there is always something new to learn. If you’re at the beginning of your journey, we’ll help you get to grips with different styles and varieties and learn which ones you prefer. If you already know what you like, then com...e along and find out why certain wines appeal more than others. We’ll discuss how to taste wine to appreciate it to its full extent, and try to answer the age old question of quality versus price. We’ll explore varieties and regions from around Australia and New Zealand, and consider the impact of viticulture and wine making techniques. We’ll look at a variety of wine styles, both dry and sweet, and address topics such as how Champagne really compares to other sparkling wines. Included in the cost of the course are 30 wines to taste, compare and contrast; lunch, tea & coffee; a comprehensive wine education booklet; and on completion, a certificate of merit. Don’t drink and drive! The Wine Society advocates safety at all times, and always practices the responsible service of alcohol. At your wine course you will be encouraged to use spittoons, as professional tasters do. Nevertheless, we urge you to consider leaving the car at home when you come to your wine course. http://ift.tt/1udFw2n
