21.01.2022 More than 40km south of Adelaide by the old road, McLaren Vale has attracted winemakers, vignerons and visionaries for more than 180 years. Already a major wine region in the 1880s it was a century later that Paul and Jill Buttery purchased a plot of land named Gemtree off the narrow gum-lined track that is Elliot Road. Some 14 years after establishing the vineyards, Melissa (Jill's daughter) not only worked the vineyards but became a qualified viticulturalist, a well-regarde...d expert in biodynamic and organic farming and married a boy called Mike Brown, who is now Gemtree’s chief winemaker and managing director. After much trial, error, grit, determination and some choice swear words, Melissa was determined to farm all of Gemtree’s blocks organically. Gemtree earned full organic certification in 2011. Selected by WRC‘s experienced wine professions, these 8 wines which consist of reds and whites from McLaren Vale were produced and presented by Gemtree Wines, McLaren Vale, Australia. By respecting and nurturing this land, Gemtree harvests high quality, flavourful grapes each and every vinta...ge from vineyards farmed with care and offered their certified organic and biodynamic wines grounded in the earth. And, the food was from Traditional Sichuan Hotpot specially made by Xiao Long Kan Hotpot . The name Xiaolongkan in English means "Little Dragon". It was originally the main road where a significant passage from Chongqing to Chengdu specifically for the period from the year 1912-1949. Chinese hotpot is one of the most popular meals in China. It consists of a simmering pot with broth in the middle of the table. Around it is plates of meat, seafood, and vegetables, so people can add and cook whatever they like in the broth.
