21.01.2022 There's a Track Winding Back... You know the one. It winds along the Murrumbidgee to an old-fashioned shack. A short drive down that track from Gundagai is where we've hung our hat. Have you discovered Track Winding Back from @tumblonghills yet?In response to the bushfires of 2020 and our current pandemic, Simon Robertson decided to get creative and build a new range of wines produced 100% from fruit from their vineyard in Gundagai, offering even more unprecedented value tha...n before. Set in the cool climate foothills of the Snowy Mountains, Tumblong Hills is planted on rich, living volcanic soils where they're nourished by mountain water and refreshed by gentle breezes. Here's what @nedgoodwinmw had to say about the wines Track Winding Back Gundagai Shiraz 2019 | 91 POINTS Distinctly cool climate. Distinctly Australian. Crushed mint, menthol, anise and blueberry. A whiff of iodine, tapenade and a trail of black pepper-grind acidity towing some length. Medium-bodied of feel. Lithe and plump enough to avoid any overt astringency. Easygoing. Of a moreish disposition with a welcome juiciness defining the finish. Lovely to drink, with an intrigue that belies the modest price-tag. Cabernet 19 | 91 POINTS The sort of versatile table red that we should be making far more of. Mid-weighted of feel and savoury. Cassis, clove, black olive, sage and bouquet garni. A swab of mint, but mercifully nothing eucalyptus or drying. The tannins, detailed, gentle and just pliant enough. The finish dry and nicely poised between a gait of modest concentration and a stride of just-the-right-amount of extraction for the approachable design. #saintwine #tumblonghills #trackwindingback #gundagai #shiraz #cabernet #coolclimate #banjopatterson #wine #redwine #winedistribution

19.01.2022 Meet Simon Robertson of @tumblonghills; one of the best and most generous people in our industry you could ever wish to know. Simon has taken care of this incredible vineyard in Gundagai under Tumblong Hills ownership since 2008. The vineyard was originally planted in the late 90s by Treasury for additional high quality Shiraz and Cabernet for their Max Schubert project under Penfolds. Fortunately they also had the vision to plant some small parcels of Italian varietals suc...h as Sangiovese, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Fiano which would retain their acid and freshness beautifully under the hot Australian Sun. Tumblong Hills has long been recognised by many as arguably the best value source of fruit in the country, and this week, we're beyond excited to highlight and welcome back some favourites which have been unavailable due to no wine being produced from 2020. Imagine the impact of complete loss of revenue for 12 months on any business. For some; the bushfires of late 2019 and early 2020 are a distant memory. For producers such as Tumblong Hills in Gundagai, and the Canberra District, they suffered from their entire harvest being destroyed from smoke taint, and in some instances in Tumbarumba, vineyard damage. The release of the first wines from the 2021 harvest are an important milestone in recovery for our industry and the partners who have had to navigate the worst of mother nature, leading into a global pandemic. And whilst much has changed, the value in every bottle of Tumblong Hills still defies belief. This week we'll focus on their Table of Plenty range of Italian varietals and Track Winding Back range for estate grown shiraz and cabernet. If you're looking for value for yourself or your guests, there is no better range of wines from Australia offering more. #saintwine #tumblonghills #gunadagai #wine #winesales #winedistribution #shiraz #cabernet #sangiovese # nebbiolo #fiano #barbera #tableofplenty #trackwindingback #delicious

08.01.2022 Saint Wine is delighted to welcome the beautiful wines from Gala Estate Vineyard from Cranbrook on Tasmania's East Coast to our portfolio in every state from the 14th June. The Gala story started over 200 years ago when Brothers John and Adam Amos with their families, sailed on the Emerald, landing in beautiful Van Diemen’s Land in 1821. Upon arriving, the governor allowed them to choose a spot of land along the east coast on which to build their lives. They called it Gala,... after the area in Scotland from which they originated Gala Shiels and started farming sheep and cattle, progressing to include wheat and flour milling. However, it wasn’t until 2009 that Gala Estate Vineyard became just that a vineyard. Gala Estate is recognised as the 2nd oldest family business in Tasmania having celebrated it’s bi-centennial in March 2021. Adam and Grainne Greenhill are the current and 7th generation custodians of Gala. They planted their 11-hectare vineyard, nestled between five private forest reserves and four wild rivers on the majestic East Coast of Tasmania and it is here that the Gala Estate vines excel. They have selected the very best vineyard site on their 4000-hectare property. Steep, rocky ironstone with north-facing hills. Gala is already producing stunning examples of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc as well as delicious Vintage Sparkling Rose and more. We can't wait to introduce you to them. #saintwine #galaestatewine #cranbrook #tasmania #pinotnoir #chardonnay #riesling #pinotgris #tasmanianwine #winedistribution

07.01.2022 The wait is over! Table of Plenty Fiano 2021 and Nebbiolo Rose 2021 have been released and available around the country! When Penfolds planted this vineyard in the late 90s, to compliment the significant parcels of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon which were planted as the core of their project, small parcels of Fiano, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Barbera were also planted with a view to expand one day as climate change pushed necessity further towards working with grapes that reta...in natural acidity under Australia's beautiful summer sun. The result is a staggering value suite of wines produced from hand picked fruit that are given the love and care in both the vineyard and winery which is normally reserved for wines of much higher price. The Fiano is absolutely delicious and like its 2019 sibling, is destined to develop more beautiful weight and texture with some more time in bottle with mandarin zest on the palette complimented by ginger spice for complexity. For 2021, all of Simon's estate Nebbiolo has been bottled as Rose after the success of a small parcel of the 2019 vintage which he produced for a single customer that blew everyone away who tried it. To help @tumblongshills navigate their inevitable shortage from the disastrous 2020 vintage, friends in the King Valley who whose harvest wasn't affected were generous enough to support Simon with more delicious sangiovese and barbera from their 2019 harvest under the Table of Plenty label, which means for the first time in 6 months, the full range of Table of Plenty is finally available together once more. And if the #grapevine is right, V22 may see the addition of Nero D'Avola to the range! Fair to say we're a little excited! #saintwine #tumblonghills #tableofplenty #fiano #nebbiolorose #sangiovese #barbera #delicious #Italianvarietals #australiansun #winesales #winedistribution #drinkbetter

06.01.2022 Meet Adam and Grainne Greenhill; current custodians of the incredible Gala Estate Vineyard in Cranbrook and those responsible for the vision of planting the first 11 hectares of vines at Gala in 2008. Across a history that spans 200 years, there is a lot more to Gala Estate than just their beautiful expressions of Tasmanian Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. Sheep have always been a significant part of Gala and there are now in excess of 1000...0 on the property, producing the highest quality Merino wool possible from their woolly friends. These little fellas double up as mobile pruning and fertilising units for the vineyard; the only challenge being keeping the gates are closed during the fruiting season so that next years Spring lamb will not be Pinot infused! Gala is home to four wild rivers and five Private Forest Reserves, all 4000ha of it. As caretakers of this land, The Greenhills strive to protect the environment and give back to the land. It is really important to Adam and Grainne that their farming family are innovators, thinking outside the box and striving for excellence in all that they do as our business continues to grow. The future potential of Gala is exciting and considerable, and in hands that value family, history, heritage and longevity. #saintwine #galaestatewine #cranbrook #tasmania #pinotnoir #chardonnay #riesling #pinotgris #tasmanianwine #winedistribution #heritage #bicentenial #sheep #wool #conservation
