25.01.2022 Were open til 10pm today. Drop in for a glass of Didier Grappe Distorsion, an incredible pet nat of great purity and energy, a plate of pasta or this fennel and celery salad and let these magical moments of sunlight brighten your afternoon.

24.01.2022 PSA - Were opening today at 5pm instead of 12pm as were hosting a private lunch. But while you wait for the doors to open, why not lust after these sensual pinot noirs from @domainearlaud , Catherine and Claude Marchal and Julien Altaber. Theres a rainy weekend coming and just a hint of cooler weather has us very excited about cracking into all four. Ask us about them and other gems hidden in the cave upstairs.
23.01.2022 Wines of While Store - Were set to open up on Tuesday as a small grocer!! Well be stocking pasture raised eggs, home-made preserves, vegetables, tinned fish, fresh pasta and sauces as well as a much greater supply of our sourdough, seeded rye loaf and fruit loaf all to take home and bunker down. Takeaway wine will of course also be for sale though at this stage were not sure if well be able to pour you a glass or cook you a plate of food. We have a bunch of bread today for sale, with the seeded rye available in halves if you please :) Were here til 10pm. Stay safe
23.01.2022 Superb Delaware potatoes from @bathgatefarm have created the most beautiful gnocchi, with cavolo nero, a delicate chvre and a warm scratching of nutmeg. Pair with Domaine Derains 2019 Allez Goutons blanc, a superb aligot boasting generous texture, lemon curd and racey acidity, by the glass tonight!

21.01.2022 YOWZA! While Scomo was dishing out the inevitable bad news regarding indoor numbers (were at 12 max now!) We cant complain about being super fortunate to have a large outdoor area that weve spread ourselves across for distancing purposes. Not only that but we have glorious weather, heaps of seats, a full menu and plentiful wines apouring! And all thanks to the deadset bloody legends whove been throwing support behind us all week and powerfully understanding staff and suppliers, thanks fam :) #supportlocal

21.01.2022 Introducing Mataburro, the hard work and passion of Laurent Roger and Melissa Ingrand of Roussillon. With a tutor like Alain Castex you can bet these wines will speak plainly and clearly of the land theyre grown from. Otium, a semi-carbonic grenache plus friends, Idoine, whole bunch old vine merlot and Mura Mura, a gorgeous ros of grenache, merlot, muscat dAexandria and muscat a petit grains. Just a very small handful from the tireless, generous legends @foodtourist . This is Roussillon.

16.01.2022 Now available online and in-store, a fresh bundle of Burgenland beauties. Theyre really rather delicious things these Austrian-born bottles, from Claus Preisinger, Christian Tschida and Gut Oggau, and some in pretty limited quantities. Zweigelt, Blaufrankisch, St Laurent, Gruber Berliner, Welschriesling and for a touch of Cabernet Franc. Dont worry too much about whether you know the varieties or are trying for the first time, theyre wines made with great precision, that reflect the limestone, sand and slate soil theyre from and that, red or white, have a common thread of freshness and drinkability that run through the lot of them. A few staff favourites, Le Carignan by Catherine Bernard, Anselma Barbera dAlba and MicroBio Correcaminos verdejo, are just so perfect for cool Perth nights and warm sunny days. Theyll be hitting the online store as fast as Im able too. Happy Friday lovely people.
16.01.2022 ** Open today from 12 noon ** A small handful of Eric Pfifferlings incredibly detailed, complex and charming wines have made their way into the bar. They tread the line between a light yet concentrated red and a deep enchanting ros and even the Lirac, a blend of Grenache and Mourvedre also has a little Clairette, a white grape, in to freshen things up. The Tavel Vintage and Pierre Chaude are straight Grenache and Les Traverses, a blend of Grenache and Syrah. These Tavel beauties wont last long and are only available in store for now.

14.01.2022 JF Ganevat is here. These remarkable wines from the biodynamic family estate in the Jura wont last long, theyre in store now and will be online by tomorrow some time. There are few producers who spend quite so much time and energy raising wines that speak so precisely of the tiny plots from where theyre grown and whose hand in the cellar only accentuates the nuances of the many varieties from which his cuvees are made.
14.01.2022 From probably the most picturesque vineyard in Australia, Tim and Mon have raised wines from superb fruit born from wonderfully sympathetic farming. These bunch of 2018s have hit the shelves and dont disappoint. Though tonight, after being squirreled away in the cellar since May last year, we have their 2018 High Paradise on by the glass tonight. Have a glass, get hooked, buy a bottle, settle in.

09.01.2022 And so it was, with all this excitement, a new arrival was almost forgotten... until now! Yann Bertrands wines have hit the store and are straight out of the middle of the bat (cricket that is). Wines made with impeccably farmed grapes from Beaujolais Cru Morgon, Fleurie and Julienas. Finesse, elegance and freshness run a common seam through all of his wines. The Fleuries pretty and fine, the Morgon powerful and refined. The Julienas an example of the balance of acidity, fine tannin and delicate red fruits and the Pure Oh! Rigine, if theres any left, a crunchy, refreshing late afternoon red, to be enjoyed with your dearest ISO buddy. See you this evening for a few takeaways and a bottle or two. 07.01.2022 Easy pleasure on a Saturday night! Bucatini cacio e pepe at home of which we have just a few left. Cook the pasta for 2 and a half minutes, meanwhile warm the sauce in a separate pans loosen with 1 to 2 tablespoons of pasta water and stir the cooked bucatini through. Simple! A big contributor to the day-to-day running of and to the sound selections at the bar, were lucky to have him. Hes in the store today so if you miss seeing his face during these tough times, get down to say hi this afternoon. A very dear friend @fatiguer_la_salade has such a great passion for these beautiful, authentic wines, worked bloody hard to get them here and with a little help from Harry Lester @sainteutrope has secured a bunch of producers doing really very marvellous things. They'll be taking over the BTG list from 5pm, pouring @pinardier (Patrick Boujou), @domaineozil and @malauva_casa_agricola and a bunch of dead set legends will be playing music till late :) come down for some relaxed, friendly vibes and hear about his wines from the man himself.
