16.01.2022 Social isolation can have a devastating impact on the lives of people with #dementia. It can lead to lowered self-esteem, depression, and can even affect a pers...on’s tendency to seek help. The way some family members and friends respond to a diagnosis of dementia can sometimes leave loved ones feeling isolated and alone. Rajiv Chand, Manager Client Services at Dementia Australia, reminds us not to be afraid of dementia. Instead, we should be interacting with people living with dementia socially and providing opportunities for them to contribute as valued members of society.
