24.01.2022 Our animals were very spoiled and enjoyed opening their Christmas presents from Santa! Thank you to the FOWAS team for helping Santa deliver all these presents! Merry Christmas to our wonderful community, from all the staff and animals at the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter.

23.01.2022 A big thank you to the member of our community who donated these handmade snuffle mats to keep our resident dogs busy! Snuffle mats are used to scatter food or treats on, so our dogs use their nose to find the goodies! As dogs are natural hunters and scavengers, this is a great way to replicate that behaviour and it will help keep their minds healthy and prevent boredom!

Willow is a beautiful grey tabby who is 1 year and 10 months old Willow is a quiet but affectionate girl, she likes to feel safe, and she is always up for a gentle pat or chin scratch.... Willow would be best suited to a quiet and patient home, without young children. She has only been at the shelter for a short time, and she is becoming more confident every day. She is going to make a wonderful affectionate companion to the right home

Misty is very well behaved, however she is an athlete and is extremely good at jumping high obstacles such as fences, so she will need to go to a home with 6 foot fencing to ensure she stays safe! 02.01.2022 These two lovely ladies are bonded litter mates who have spent their whole lives together. Millie and Chloe are ladies of leisure, and are happy to lounge around in their favourite spots, but also happy to be social and greet people when they visit. Chloe initially was reserved, but after settling in for a few days, her personality is coming through and she is a big flirt who likes to greet you for a pat, and roll around on her back.... Millie was initially more outgoing and curious when she first arrived, but as we are slowly getting to know the girls, we believe Millie is the quieter of the two sisters, but she is still an affectionate and curious girl, coming out for cuddles and pats with the help of her sister. Millie will require regular grooming to keep her coat healthy, we are currently in the process of grooming her coat, and she may require some areas to be clipped before being rehomed. These two sisters are looking for a loving home who will adopt them together, and help slowly gain their confidence in their new home.

01.01.2022 UPDATE: BENTLEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Bentley is an 12 month old Greyhound cross. Bentley was a bit nervous when he first arrived at the shelter, but quickly came out of his shell and warmed up to staff and volunteers... He's a big love bug who love to relax with his favourite people He would be best suited to a family without young children, and a patient home as he needs some time to settle and build his confidence when he is out and about, which he is quickly gaining confidence now he is going for daily walks with staff and volunteers Being a cross, Bently has a little more stamina than your average Greyhound, so if you have been looking into adopting a greyhound, but are looking for something with a little more stamina to take on long hikes and adventures, then Bentley will certainly be up for the challenge! As he is still a young lad, Bentley would benefit from ongoing training.
