25.01.2022 A huge thank you to Hanoverian Australia for coming to SA for assessments. We had a fantastic day and the weather was very kind to us. Thank you Janette & Kevin Lewis for you time and effort to make this happen.

25.01.2022 I would like to congratulate Isobel Falster on now being a part of the Winmallee Training Team with Melanie Sabeeney & myself. Isobel has been riding with Winmallee for 4 years and has earn't her way to become part of our training team. She has proven her commitment and dedication to riding the Classical Way and never steering off this path no matter how hard things got. Isobel has trained her OTT Eight Black (Bess) with me and she has done such an awesome job showing me she ...never gives up. She goes out show jumping, dressage and forest rides with Bess, and best of all Bess is one of the best school horses I have ever used. Training an OTT is not easy and it takes so much dedication and time to understand their needs, which is exactly what Isobel has done. Isobel has also been so kind to allow me to put her lovely Bess in foal to Hibiskus so we can have a lovely Trakehner foal. This foal is due in about 5 weeks and we all cannot wait. What a selfless thing to do for me, to give up her competitions so I could get a foal. Huge thank you Isobel for this. Isobel will be now helping me break in future horses and also "back" them for me as I am getting a little to old and broken. We have so much fun together as be both compete together and ride out. Thank you so much Isobel for making me so proud of all you have done. You are an amazing person with so much empathy for the horses and this is why you deserve to join our team. We have so much fun together as be both compete together and ride out. See more

25.01.2022 Winmallee Elite Adonis (Hibiskus) looking amazing at 2 months of age. Everyday he just looks better and better. What a stunning colt. Absolutely loves his cuddl...es with his human family. Today when Isobel rode her lovely Bess he just wanted to stay in the raceway saying hello to next doors horses. He will not be a problem to wean later, Bess did not mind him being out there. 25.01.2022 So proud of my Winmallee De Nisha winning this performance award from the Hanoverian Society. All my hard work is paying for with my breeding and training.

25.01.2022 Eight Black (Bess) in in foal the the amazing Trakehner Hibiskus. This foal can be purchased in utero or when foal is on the ground. This is will be the first Hibiskus foal in Australia and will be a stunner for sure. Very versatile stallion who is bred for dressage, jumping and cross country. Eight Black has been assessed and accepted into the German Verban Trakener Premium Stud book. This means the foal will be a Purebred Trakehner and can be registered with the Trakehner V...Continue reading

24.01.2022 OK it has been a big day for me with the auction of Dasha Chilli. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for their support. and dontations. By me posting all the lovely photos of her she has now gone to a 5 star home on a warmblood stud. The bidding went well. I then got a lovely message from a lady who was bidding. We ended up chatting on the phone and she was really nice and they are giving Dasha a lovely home. She will be looked after like a queen and she deserves this. She will be rehabbed and ridden again, which she will love. They will be keeping in contact with me letting me know how she is going. ALL MONEY DONATED WILL BE RETURNED THROUGH "GO FUND ME" Again thank you so much for helping.

24.01.2022 Totally exhausted and extremely happy for this lovely rain. I now have time to think about what has just happened. Wow going constantly from yesterday 4.30pm t...o now, putting fire plan into place and I am very happy to say it was successful. All the training that has been put into my horses and students who bored with me certainly worth the time effort and money. The importance of float training, your horses & foals is something you must do. To make sure you have enough floats to get your horses all off the property and be safe. Yesterday we took off 2 horses to Karen's place "Diamond Park" when the warning was on the CFS site. I rang students who owned horses that were at Winmallee to come over straight away. We had 3 double floats ready to go for 7 horses. This is why 2 x were taken off early so we had time. We had to work out a plan to make sure we could get off a mare & foal, Colt, pony, 2 x pregnant mares and a gelding. So when the fire first started to get close took 1 pregnant mare (De Nisha) and the gelding (Donatello) so then we could get the others all off at once. Came home to road been closed off so explained that I live 500m away and was getting my other horses out. They would not let me through with my float so yes I just went anyway. Loaded pregnant mare (HB Flawless) and pony (Stormy) on my float and they were amazing, straight on and then had to stand in there for half hour while we organized the others. Put the colt (HB Regal Classic) on a float by himself and he stood still while we put on Bess and her foal Teddy both walked straight on no hesitation. This made live so much less stressful. Went to Echunga oval to hear about everything and get updates. Well we have rain now, husband come back from fighting fires and said we are safe here. All my horses are back home and happy. Fire plan worked well thanks to Isobel, Lauren, Sue and Linda and of course my parents who came up to help with the house and on fire pump if needed. Huge thank you to Karen Hague for allowing me to take horses to her. Huge thank you to Tanya Dodi (my vet) checking up on me and of course everyone who offered help on facebook and messages. Thanks Mel for being on the end of the phone with CFS updates from her husband. Thanks Shane for also checking on me and dropping in and giving me coffee. Could not get help as roads were closed so we managed ourselves. Now I think it is time to get some much needed sleep. Fire will be burning for days but we are ok at this stage. See more

23.01.2022 Winmallee Donatello (Donny) growing up and now is a rising 2 year old. How time flies, only seems like yesterday he was born. Lauren Hornsey, Melanie Sabeeney, Kerry Anne Hannaford

23.01.2022 ****CONGRATULATIONS***** Lauren Hornsey for the purchase of Winmallee Donatello. I would like to welcome Lauren Hornsey to the Winmallee team of breeding and training. What a wonderful person to have join us Melanie Sabeeney she will be an absolute asset to us. Both Mel and myself will be taking her under our wing to teach her the Winmallee way. So nice she has fallen in love with Donny as this means he will still be a part of Winmallee.

23.01.2022 Had some great lessons today and rode some lovely horses. Well done Zoe Allinson on you great riding today with Luxe. Things are falling into place and as we kn...ow it takes time. We also put Luxe on the lunge over some very small jumps and poles and I think she thought they were a meter 10. We she certainly does not want to hit her feet on the poles. Vicky Allinson. See more

22.01.2022 Ehrung EH Hibiskus als Trakehnerhengst des Jahres 2020 Alles Gute weiterhin Hibi

22.01.2022 HB Regal Classic was a very good colt today. Rising 2 year old who lunged really well, nice and quiet and great manners. He has one of the nicest personalities this boy and I am so happy he is mine. This boy was bred by Jane Bartram and I bought him in-utero. Thanks Lauren Anderson & Anna Reis for coming out with me to see the boys. Thanks Melanie Sabeeney so much for the lovely photos of the boys.

21.01.2022 Yesterday Lauren Anderson and myself also worked Winmallee Donatello (Don Martillo x De Niro) and he was such a good boy. He also had all the basics done before being turned out. He will be 2 in September and my goodness what a giant he is, he makes Reggie look like a pony. He has such tall legs and very lanky at this stage. He will take awhile to fill out the boy (not like Reggie). He will mature around 17.2hh. Poor Lauren is only small but that is ok as she will have a very good view from up there. Just like you Chantel Chantelle Potter and your big boy.

21.01.2022 Another great lesson today with Barrie, working on Piaffe & Passage, canter pirouettes and many other things. Never a dull moment in my lessons. Thanks Melanie Sabeeney for the great photos as usual. Cully (Kerry Anne Hannaford) was next to the arena helping De Nisha with her Piaffe.

21.01.2022 People wanting to secure a place in this clinic please can you put a deposit of $30 into this bank account. There are limited spaces and can only fit in 8 lessons a day. We are getting a lot of interest so this will give you a definite lesson. Message me when you have and I will put you on the schedule. Let me know what day and time and I will try my hardest to give you that time. Remember spectators are Free of charge. Amanda Evins, BSB: 805050... Acc: 4142736 Peoples' Choice Credit Union. Please use you name as reference. If for some reason the clinic did not go ahead deposits will be returned in full. See more

21.01.2022 Have bought these lovely photos from Martin Waddingham (Horse Trials SA) so I can make a lovely collage. Looking forward to hanging this on my wall. So proud of De Nisha and myself getting to where we are as it has not been an easy journey. Not being able to sit trot due to my back with my bulging disc & kissing spine has made it very hard to compete in the higher levels. De Nisha with her "not so good tendon" from when she injured it back when she was 15 months old has not b...een easy either. We take one day at a time, we go at our speed and it is always about the horse first. All I can say is never give up and continue on your journey. Do the best you can with what you have and you will be proud. I love riding my girl and we are both disabled and help each other out. Huge thank you to Barrie & Sarita Stratton for teaching me over the past 47 years. See more

21.01.2022 DRESSAGE is back on for DCSA. Everyone who would like to get back out and compete please be quick to enter on nominate. We can only take 40 riders so first in will get a place. So nice we can get back into things again. Remember if you join up as a member you will get your tests cheaper and be a part of the end of year awards. If you would like to now more please message myself or DCSA. Lets get in and support the club that has been looking after everyone with the "Online" dressage comps. A lot of work has gone into making all this possible through Covid-19. DCSA have been working their butt off trying to keep everyone happy. Lets support this competition on the 28th June.

21.01.2022 Lovely 2 hour ride out with the girls before I go in for surgery on Tuesday. Getting in all the riding I can at the moment. Tanya was on Ollie, Isobel on Stormy... (thank you Sue for allowing Isobel to ride your boy) and myself on HB Flawless. Thank you girls so much this is just what I needed on such a lovely day. Fly was just amazing and she does love her ride outs in-between her arena work. This opiniated girl is turning out to be an amazing riding horse and looking forward to doing dressage on her after I have healed. See more

21.01.2022 Another awesome ride on HB Flawless bred by Jane Bartram. I just love riding this mare she is so comfortable, and getting use to her opinion. She really is star...ting to understand the work and is not having so much to say anymore. Love my mares like this as they are very special and never boring. Thank you Melanie Sabeeney for talking these lovely photos. See more

20.01.2022 ***************386 days and we finally have a foal.*********** We have had a stunning foal from Bess (eight Black) this morning at 5.30. Lovely black colt with small star, 2 x white socks. Good birth "Standing" as she thought this was a good idea. Winmallee Edonis is the first Purebred Trakehner by Hibiskus in Australia. So happy to have a quick normal birth. Thank you so much Isobel for allowing me to put her very special girl Bess in foal. Thank you Mel & Isobel for all you...r help and sleepless nights. Thank you to my wonderful Super Vet Tanya Dodi for putting her night on hold in case of any emergency. See more

18.01.2022 Had a lovely ride on Bess today with Winmallee Elite Adonis (Teddy) working with her. Isobel had a lovely ride as well. Nice to ride Bess again and she was just brilliant. The two are amazing and wow Teddy is so special. Well done Isobel it must have been nice to on your horse again.

17.01.2022 Wow these two boys I don't think I need to say anything, except weaning is going well. HB Sezuaninto (Sezuan x Regaliste)(imp)(Royal Classic/Don Crusador) & Winmallee Elite Adonis (Hibiskus x Eight Black xx)

17.01.2022 Another amazing ride on HB Flawless today and it was a very special ride. We did some canter and WOW, WOW she is uphill. I am leaning forward in the canter staying off her back. We also got some lovely lengthen stride and shoulder in. It makes it even more special knowing I have broken her in. After all that lovely work it was time to go for another short ride. It was cut very short due to the wild life with a huge kangaroo who refused to go away. Fly certainly was not to sure about that bouncy thing with fur. Then we came across a rabbit but that was ok. She was very sensible about it all. Thanks you so much Lauren Anderson for the lovely photos.

16.01.2022 Had another lovely ride on HB Flawless (Furst Heinrich x Royal Classic) bred by Jane Bartram. This girl has such a great willingness to give me nice forward work. Did some lovely lengthening of stride today. We also got some nice stretchy trot and walk (lowering). She also offered some canter and WOW so uphill. We also started on leg yield and shoulder in. She is loving her work and so am I. This lovely girl is rising 4 years old. Thanks Lauren Anderson for the lovely photos. Melanie Sabeeney things are going great guns.

16.01.2022 Some lovely pictures of HB Regal Classic bred by Jane Bartram doing some socializing with Melanie Sabeeney's pony's. Great to be able to socialize this lovely colt with as many horses as possible. Happy horses happy life.

15.01.2022 What an amazing lesson with Kerry Anne Hannaford yesterday on her horse Cully. This was the first time she cantered on him and did such a wonderful job. The smi...le tells the story as it stayed on her face for a long time after the lesson as well. I am so proud of you Kezzy for letting me push you on with your riding. See more

15.01.2022 Have a look at this very special boy HB Sezuantino (Sezuan x Royal Classic). I am so lucky to own this amazing boy and he is going to look very nice in my paddo...ck being a stud stallion for Winmallee. Thank you Jane Bartram for breeding such a lovely looking foal with a temperament to die for. See more

15.01.2022 A little sneak peak of De Nisha in her lesson today with Barrie. A little Piaffe and the start of Pirouettes. Thanks for the video Lauren Anderson

15.01.2022 Double lessons today with Barrie in the indoor. First had a great lesson with Winmallee De Nisha and then HB Flawless (bred by Jane Bartram). This was the first... time I have taken Fly out to ride off the property. She has never been in an indoor and she was such a good girl. This wonderful girl has a great future ahead of herself. Thank you so much Lauren Anderson for all your help today with the girls and photos & video. See more

15.01.2022 Some more of the silly boys having fun while we are working horses. Winmallee For Keeps & HB Regal Classic. Very special children these guys are.

15.01.2022 Home bred Winmallee Fellini (Amper) who is owned by Karen Hague has come back for a few weeks for me to finish breaking him in. This boy is just amazing as he h...as only had a handful of rides. He has had 4 months off and this is my second ride this time round and WOW he is rock solid with his work. I absolutely love riding this horse and Karen you are a very lucky girl. Isobel had her first ride on him today and she did an amazing job. I am teaching her all about backing young horses so she can continue on this journey with me. Great day had by all. See more

14.01.2022 Busy day at Winmallee, started with a few lessons this morning. Then a lovely ride out on De Nisha with Isobel Falster & Bess. Then came back and had a lovely ride on HB Flawless bred by Jane Bartram. Taking this girl slow and steady and is going extremely well. Thank you Isobel for the lovely photos.

14.01.2022 More Sezuantino spam since it was a nice sunny day. Both boys were have a great run around.

14.01.2022 Sitting here thinking about life. Wet outside and sometimes I ask myself WHY? Why do I continue working with horses in this wet cold weather. It takes a very different type of person to put their horses first no matter what. Who puts their students first before themselves and feel I do this everyday. Lessons will always come before me working my own horses. I will choose to ride in the rainy part of the day so my students do not have to. I love helping people whether it is lo...oking for a horse for them to buy, teaching them new lessons about training their horses, teaching them life lessons about never giving up when things get hard. I like to let people know that I put myself out there so I can challenge myself with my horses. Everyday is a new day and in a split second I can make a decision that will change my life in a good way. I always want to move forward so when I find I am moving backwards a step, I will always make sure I get two steps forward. Being with horses this will happen all the time, this is what makes us stronger working out how to move forward and not give up. The questions I ask myself everyday are: How can I make my business successful? How can I improve my breeding stock? How can I make my riding better and more successful? How can I make life better for others? How can I improve my property for my horses? These are some of the negative questions that will always come in: Am I good enough to compete higher levels? Am I good enough to breed great horses? Am I good enough to be a mentor to others? Am I good enough to run a successful business? With the negative questions I will always find a positive answer as this is the most important side of being successful and happy. Remember we ALL bring in negative into our lives and the trick is how to turn every negative into a positive. Over my life with horses I have worked out how to do this every time and I am very proud of being able to turn everything into a positive. Please take the most out of life and we only have one go at it. Take chances and leap into things you never thought you could do. Put yourself out there and never let anyone knock you down. Who would have thought I could have bred such an amazing horse like Winmallee De Nisha and trained her up to where she is today. Always remember Family Comes First, and friends are Very important. Success comes from the whole package.

14.01.2022 Lovely pictures of Winmallee De Nisha at the Royal Adelaide Breed Show in 2016. Supreme ridden and Led.

13.01.2022 For the people contacting me about lessons and horses to be trained please contact me again. It has been crazy around here with getting mares inseminated and foaling down and still waiting for one more. I have had many phone calls left on my answering machine and I accidently deleted them...oops. My apologies for not getting back to people. I am sorting my diary out for the week so please let me know if you would like a lesson this week. Picture of Melanie Sabeeneys lovely For Romance x Royal Hit foal.

13.01.2022 WISDOM of LIFE, from horses & Alois Podhasky Equestrian art, perhaps more than any other, is closely related to the wisdom of life. Many of the same principles... may be applied as a line of conduct to follow. The horse teaches us self control, constancy, and the ability to understand what goes on in the mind and the feelings of another creature - qualities that are important throughout our lives. Moreover, from this relationship with a horse the rider will learn that only kindness and mutual understanding will bring about achievements of the highest perfection. See more

13.01.2022 Today was a lovely day as I went out to see my beautiful colt HB Regal Classic (Royal Classic x Chequille/Don Schufro/Lauries Crusador) who is a 2 yld bred by Jane Bartram. I bought this lovely colt in-utero. He is turned out at Melanie Sabeeney with Winmallee Donatello (De Niro) so they can grow and have some fun together. It has been a long time since I have done any work with him so nice to know that he just takes everything in his stride. He has only had the roller on a couple of times and very loose side reins. I did this work before I turned him out so his training can be done in stages through his life so there is no stress.

13.01.2022 Lovely day today going out to Melanie Sabeeney to turn HB Flawless out for a few weeks to have a break from her work. She will come back later to be put in foal.... Donny and For Keeps were very happy to have a girl friend to play with. This is one way to bring your mare into season Very well behaved horses and they had a lot of fun getting to know each other. I took HB Regal Classic home with me to do some more training before the foals are due. He is such a special guy, we left him in the yard while the others were running around and he just watched. Walked straight on the float we got home went in the paddock and just started eating. Such a well behaved colt who said hello to the girls and went on eating. Jane Bartram See more

13.01.2022 So today after the usual up most the night on foal watch I thought I would start the day with teaching 3 lessons. Then wash and plait De Nisha so I could go and... compete my very first Prix St George today. I am so happy we did this we came 1st with over 60% . Being so tired and quiet warm I am very happy I even stayed on her . Now back home to be on foal watch again as Bess still has not foaled (375 days). A HUGE thank you to Anthea Sellars and Sue Parkinson for being on foal watch while I was gone. Thank you Melanie Sabeeney for being my wonderful strapper and taking photos. Huge thank you to Barrie Stratton for coming out to teach me while Bess is not foaling. See more

13.01.2022 Wow a wonderful day at the dressage with DCSA. Winmallee De Nisha did me proud again, being in a new arena and many spectators. We won both our Advanced test and this then gave us Advanced Reserve Champion. Such a nice feeling when your horse does you proud. Yes we have a lot to work on but this is what it is all about. Learning, training and moving up the levels. A huge thankyou to Zinta Rutins for helping out with the DCSA and taken over many rolls as most of the other peop...le I asked could not make it. You are a wonderful person Zinta. Thankyou to Vicky Allinson & Zoe Allinson for helping with DCSA as well. Thankyou Lauren Anderson helping out with DCSA and being my strapper with Melanie Sabeeney, who was also the one who took all these lovely photos. A massive thankyou to my metor/coach Barrie Stratton (Sarita Stratton) See more

12.01.2022 Winmallee For Keeps (For Romance x Royal Hit), enjoying his new bunny rabbit. Then he went for a burn around the paddock when some people were riding there horses past his fence line. Special boy.

12.01.2022 Just a small 7 month old foal for me. HB Sezuantino (Sezuan x Regaliste)(imp) is going to be a very big boy.

12.01.2022 Thank you Jane Bartram for breeding me such a stunning boy - HB Regal Classic (Royal Classic x Chequille/Don Schufro/Lauries Crusador). He is one of the best behaved colts I have ever come across.

11.01.2022 Something very exciting happened today!!! HB Regal Classic (Royal Classic x Celeste Laura (Chequille/Don Shufro/Donnerhall/Lauries Crusador)) bred by Jane Bartr...am had a human on him for the first time. I bought this boy in utero and have been waiting for this day. He is the nicest colt I have ever broken in and he will make a super stallion for Winmallee. We are doing some very basic work with him and taking it very slow as we will be collecting from him this breed season. Well he will be practicing jumping the dummy as we will not be doing live services. Thank you Tanya Dodi (Vet, student & friend) for getting on him as I certainly could not with my broken bits. Dear Reggie did not blink an eye lid, flinch or react when Tanya got on. We went for a small walk and that is all that was needed. Thank you Isobel for the lovely photos. See more

11.01.2022 WARNING: More foal spam. This little colt is just so special he just melts my heart. He is 2 days old in these photos. Thank you so much Isobel for taking these lovely photos.

11.01.2022 This picture was taken today by Melanie Sabeeney of HB Regal Classic (Royal Classic x Chequille/Don Schufro/Lauries Crusador) and Winmallee For Keeps (For Romance x Royal Hit). What a great photo Mel they were being such funny boys. For pictures tomorrow.

11.01.2022 Winmallee Elite Adonis (Hibiskus x Eight Black xx) is now 1 week old. Certainly learning how to use those legs. He is a bold, cheeky little boy and I absolutely adore him. Bess is being a wonderful mum and I am sure she is wishing she had a filly.

09.01.2022 Merry Christmas to me!!!! - Winmallee De Nisha is in foal to Le Formidable. Looking forward to this lovely foal next year. Best xmas present for me. 09.01.2022 I always have a great ride on De Nisha. I love training with her and we are working on suspension in the trot ready for passage. Getting great collection with e...levation in the cater for the pirouettes. Training certainly takes time when we want to keep your horse confident in their work. Nisha is lovely the work just like I am. Thank you Isobel Falster for the lovely photos. Shane Farrell See more

09.01.2022 Went to AHDC on Sunday for a non competitive day. Love these days as I can test out things that I have been working on. The ground was very wet, heavy & slippery so I took it easy with Winmallee De Nisha. Did not do much in the way of medium and extended trot/canter as I needed to look after her tendon. Still achieved ok scores of 61% & 62.8% in Advanced A & B with out pushing her too much. I have been working on her flying changes especially right to left as she did like to ...put a hesitation in this change. Yes we have nailed this now which was not easy but we have it. Now I can get my changes in sequence properly (if only I could count though), need to do a bit on my counting every fourth stride. Have been working on the 1/4 & 1/2 pirouettes to get her to bend and sit on her hocks more. We are getting there and this takes times and patients. Thank you Lauren Anderson for helping me and taking photos. I was also lovely having one of my younger students Leila with me learning all about dressage. See more

08.01.2022 Some days I feel very disappointed with people who do not understand about foaling down. I have come across some people who do not understand why I am staying home waiting for Bess to foal as I did with Remi. The importance of being around at foaling can never be underestimated. As breeders we all know how wrong things can go like with Remi having a red bag delivery. We invest so much time and money into producing exquisite foals that we do not want to lose because we were n...ot there at foaling. I have not left Winmallee for around 2 months. The only times I have I have made sure I have someone on watch for me so I can go shopping. I have cancelled all my off the property lessons which financially hurts me but this is just what has to be done. I am hoping people might read up about foaling and see the potential problems that can occur. Bess is now 378 in foal and the average is 340 days, this is why I cannot leave. She is a maiden mare (has not foaled before) and being this long pregnant there is a good chance the foal may need help. Yes this is very stressful for me at this stage and especially as the mare does not belong to me. The foal is mine and is a very special foal to me. So I am just asking if people can understand why I am not able to help out others as much as I usually do, I am also frustrated I can not have my normal life. Thank you and I hope we get a healthy foal soon. Pictures below of Remi (red bag delivery) which is an emergency but we got through and the result is a wonderful healthy foal Winmallee Fergus. Picture of Bess at 378 days and still no foal. See more

08.01.2022 Great news today had 16 day pregnancy scan on HB Flawless and it is POSITIVE. Sire is Sezuan's Donnerhall (Sezuan x Sir Donnerhall 1) x HB Flawless (Furst Heinr...ich x Royal Classic). Huge thank you to my wonderful vet Tanya Dodi from Windarra Park Vet Clinic. She never lets me down. :) Sezuan's Donnerhall - Best young dressage stallion in Germany Double record stallion performance test champion The first foals of Sezuan’s Donnerhall are consistently beautifully typed and correct in their foundations. They also please with their strong, active hindquarters, cadenced movements and natural balance. The exceptional dark chestnut stallion has already made a name for himself as double record stallion performance test winner (14-day-test in Neustadt/D with 9.34 and 50-day-test in Schlieckau with 9.19). The judges gave the perfect score of 10.0 for his canter, and 9.5 for rideability, willingness to perform and overall impression.

08.01.2022 Yesterday we also did some riding. Had a ride on the amazing Cully doing some more two track work, shoulder in, traver, renver, half pass, pirouettes. Also did ...some counter canter, walk to canter. This boy is well on the way to Elementary now, not bad for only a few months of work. Well done Melanie Sabeeney & Kerry Anne Hannaford for all your hard work. See more

07.01.2022 Lauren Hornsey living her dream with her new horse Winmallee Donatello (Don Martillo x De Niro). She is so lucky to have this very special boy in her life. They are a match made in heaven these two.

07.01.2022 This foaling season is going to be very exciting for Winmallee, some spectacular foals due. Le Formidable x Winmallee De Nisha (De Niro x Winmallee Emerald (Red...ding/Aree Lad xx) Due 3rd November. Sezuan's Donnerall x HB Flawless (Furst Heinrich x Regalite (Royal Classic/Sunny Boy). 07.01.2022 Went out to Melanie Sabeeney's place today where I have Winmallee Donatello and HB Regal Classic turned out. A friend came out to have a look at Donny and absolutely fell in love with the big fella. He is such a people's horse, so gentle and wants to be with you. I worked him with a roller on and his bridle and just took everything in his stride. Has not had any work for about 6 weeks and wow he is so trainable just like his mother Winmallee De Nisha. I just do very small amounts of work just for training purposes.

06.01.2022 One STUNNING foal by Hibiskus. We have a Hibiskus foal due in October.

06.01.2022 *******EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT FROM WINMALLEE***** This is Jane Bartram's lovely imported Regaliste mare at the age of 3 yrs. Her breeding is - Royal Classic/Don Crusador/De Niro - born February 2013. This mare is in foal to Sezuan triple world champion. Sezuan passed his stallion performance test in 2012 in Denmark with scores never awarded before: He was actually given the highest possible score of 10.0 ten times! In 2013 Sezuan continued his victory march and became the Dani...sh Champion Stallion with 10.0 for his walk and canter and 9.5 for his trot. Following this, he went on to become the best four-year old dressage horse in Denmark at the competition in Odense. Here he was again awarded the dream score of 10.0 for his trot, canter and willingness to perform and 8.9 for his walk. With a total of 9.68, the title was rightfully his. I am very excited to announce that I have bought this foal in-utero from Jane and I feel like the luckiest person alive. I have never forgotten how amazing my Sezuan foal was from De Nisha and wanted to have another Sezuan foal. This was a huge decision for me to make but I want the best possible horses for my breeding program and competition. Thank you Jane so much for this opportunity. This foal is due at the end of October, and I thought it was time to let people know. Huge thank you goes out to Melanie Sabeeney and John Evins (mum & dad) to help me with this decision.

05.01.2022 This gorgeous face of HB Regal Classic is proving to me he is growing into a lovely colt. Hoping to keep him a colt for breeding at Winmallee. This boy has exceptional bloodlines: Royal Classic x Celese-Laura (imp)(Chequille/Don Schufro/Lauries Crusador). Jane Bartram bred this lovely boy and I bought him in Utero. We are building up a very special group of breeding/riding horses here at Winmallee. We have HB Flawless with amazing breed lines: Furst Heinrich x Hollands Bend R...egalite (Royal Classic/Sunny Boy) bred by Jane Bartram. Home bred Winmallee De Nisha (De Niro x Winmallee Emerald)(Redding xx) There will be one more added to the breeding program from Jane this year and will let you know when foal is born. This foal has been bought in utero. This breeding program as been a very well thought out process and has been very hard to let some very nice horses go up for sale. Takes years of planing to get the most suitable horses to breed with. Thank you to everyone involved helping me make decisions. Melanie Sabeeney I could not have done this without you. John Evins (mum & dad) have supported me through this journey. Graeme Bear Evins (husband) always has supported my decisions. See more

04.01.2022 Took HB Flawless (Furst Heinrich x HB Regalite (Royal Classic)) to her first time out in the show ring led and ridden. What an absolutely amazing girl she was, ...she was so sensible and quiet so we accomplished many 1st placed and then Champion Led. We then warmed up for the first time under saddle and she did not put a foot wrong. Many different things for her to look at and did not blink an eyelid. We were ready to enter into the ridden ring and we chose not to go in. The poor girl was so worried about a stallion that someone had tied to a tree, he was going stupid. The stallion had hobbles on and every time she went past him he went stupid and she was so scared of him. I really don't think a stallion that is not competing should not be there tied to a tree. He certainly took a liking to her so we just went home. I was so happy she warmed up so well and did not want to stress her out just for a ribbon. She is also in foal to Sezuans Donnerhall so want to look after her pregnancy. Thank you so much Mel for helping me out and taking these lovely photos. Thanks Anna for following me to the show with your lovely boy Argo. Was nice parking together and helping each other. Lovely day and lovely weather. See more

04.01.2022 Lovely mental health day out at Mt Pleasant with Mel and Kezza. Great day girls with all the horses. Thank you so much it was just what I needed. Lovely pictures of Winmallee For Keeps, Winmallee Fergus, Winmallee Donatello (owned by Lauren).

04.01.2022 Some lovely pictures of my lovely HB Regal Classic (Royal Classic x Celeste Laura (imp)(Chequile/Don Schufro/Lauries Crusador) Such a special well behaved colt he is. Stunning in looks, movement and nature. Bred by Jane Bartram Thank you Shane Farrell & Andrea Danielle for the photos

04.01.2022 HB Flawless had her first ridden outing today and she was perfect. She is a very special girl and I just adore riding her. She is just a 3 year old and behaved ...like an experienced horse. Look at me in my matchy, matchy :) I am very impressed and looking forward to our future together. Thank you so much Elly Barton & Shane Farrell for allowing me to use your arena and yards. Thank you Leila for taking such lovely photos. Busy day teaching at Amberglade so this is why I decided to take Flawless with me. Jane Bartram Melanie Sabeeney John Evins See more

03.01.2022 This breeding season is going to be a little different for us at Winmallee. Hoping for some new exciting semen to use on my HB Flawless. Yes I am going to breed... another foal as I am getting old and need another competition horse, to get me through with my back injury. We are expecting a lovely For Romance x Royal Hit foal which Melanie Sabeeney has bred. Expecting the first Hibiskus x Eight Black xx foal in Australia. Expecting an amazing in utero foal Sezuan x Royal Classic from Jane Bartram. "For Romance" foal if a colt will be up for sale so please express your interest. "Hibiskus" foal if a colt will be up for sale so please express your interest. (All ready have interest in this foal). If a filly will probably be a part of our breeding program. We will be using Don Martillo again this season with one of the mares, not sure which one yet. Every time we breed a foal we want to improve what we already have. This is a very exciting addiction for both Mel and myself. See more

03.01.2022 Great lesson today with HB Flawless (Furst Heinrich x Royal Classic). 4yld with a great brain and little opiniated (which I like in a mare). We now have canter... both ways, shoulder in & leg yield. Tried a new saddle pad by Acavallo which stops the saddle slipping. Fly has no wither yet so it is very hard riding without the saddle slipping. Looking forward to competing her in the dressage ring. Thank you Liz and Loz for helping me get to lesson and saddling up for me, not easy with a broken arm. Thank you Barrie for a great lesson. See more

03.01.2022 Had my first lesson with Barrie today riding HB Flawless (Furst Heinrich x Royal Classic) bred by Jane Bartram. What a good girl and he like her very much. Love...d how forward she is going. Looking forward to getting her out and about in the dressage ring. Melanie Sabeeney, John Evins, Sarita Stratton See more

03.01.2022 I saw this wonderful read about mares on Carolyn Welsh's page. A Good Mare There’s something different about the way a good mare connects with her rider. It’s special. Like an unspoken agreement. Once a mare chooses you as her person, it’s like she has an instinct to protect you, to fight for you. It’s almost as if she takes ownership of you.... I believe the good mares have a deep sense of intuition. They can read your mind. They know what you’re thinking even before you do. The good mares I know breathe fire in the face of challenge and then somehow, miraculously, know to quiet themselves when a timid child is plopped on their back for a pony ride. They are clever, cunning and calculated, which can be your greatest enemy or your saving grace. The good mares I know do not tolerate egotistical riding. They do not tolerate force. They demand tact, finesse and emotional control. But once you have won a mare’s heart, you have won all of her. In exchange for your bestand nothing lessshe will give you everything. Love both of my girls they are very special to me - Winmallee De NIsha (De Niro), HB Flawless (Furst Heinrich).

02.01.2022 Very happy Winmallee De Nisha has her 47 day scan and all is well. She is in foal to Le Formidable.

02.01.2022 My stunning Sezuan colt looking so healthy and lovely. I am so over the moon with this colt. I have no words on how lucky I feel. All my dreams have come true. This little guy has come to me as I wanted another Sezuan foal after I lost my Winmallee Sezanne (Sez) (Sezuan x Winmallee De Nisha).

02.01.2022 Very big day for Winmallee De Nisha at the All Breeds Show. She did me proud as usual and won "Supreme Ridden of Show". Not to bad for a mare that is 6 months i...n foal, and a rider who cannot sit trot or hear what was going in in the workouts It has been years since I have been out in the breed ring as I have been concentrating on my dressage. Huge thank you to Sue, Loz and Dakota for helping me. Great photos Loz. See more

01.01.2022 ********This is Remi's foal (345 days) not Bess she still has not foaled (365 days ********************* Congratulations Mel for your very healthy new colt "Win...mallee Fergus" (For Romance x Royal Hit). Remi foaled at 345 days at 1.30am this morning. We certainly had a stressful foaling this time with Remi. This was a red bag delivery, first time here at Winmallee. We got through everything with a few complications and we have a very healthy big colt at the end. Once we broke the red bag, Remi did not have very big contractions and was extremely tired so foal was not progressing. I reached in and checked we had 2 x front feet and nose which we did. Called Tanya Dodi (my super vet) to come and help. We asked the vet should we get her up to see if this would help get contractions going again. She said to give it a go and see if it will help. She did lie down and she did start contractions, so Mel and myself pulled front legs on every contraction, we had 2 front feet and a nose out when Tanya arrived. Then we had to get Graeme (husband) to pull as he is way stronger. Foal then was out breathing and healthy. Remi had horrible colostrum (which we tested) so we had some frozen colostrum from Tanya and tubed some into his stomach. 2 x enema's to Fergus to help with the passing of the meconium. Was very quick to find the udder (surprising for a boy), bounced up onto his feet, extremely friendly and tall. Thank you so much Tanya Dodi from Windarra Park Vet Clinic for your very quick response to our call. Thanks Isobel, Mel and Graeme for all your help. So to finish up I would like to say how important it is to watch your mares very closely as things go wrong very quickly. If we were not there at this time we would have had a dead foal and probably dead mare. Please watch your mares who are due to foal, make sure someone is around 24/7. Happy Foaling.

01.01.2022 My lovely HB Regal Classic (Royal Classic x Celeste Laura) has gone out to Steve Halfpenny for some work. First day and he was just so chilled and amazing. What a wonderful colt he is, very special boy for Winmallee.
