13.01.2022 A big day today for our employees! Due to easing of restrictions regarding Hotels and Clubs we have now re-opened our office! Some of our employees have enjoyed a well earned break whilst others have adapted and worked from home. We are very excited to return to some kind of normality but some of us are not so excited to get dressed (instead of wearing pjs all day) and it was so cold this morning!! ... Our office hours have been temporarily amended; Payroll Department - Monday through to Wednesday 9am - 5pm Accounts and Finance Department - Tuesday through to Thursday 9am - 5pm Our office will be closed on Friday We thank our clients for their support throughout this crisis and we wish them all the best as restrictions ease even more over the coming weeks!

12.01.2022 As an employee, the way you complete your tax return is changing! Thanks to a little thing called STP (Single Touch Payroll)! New ATO reporting obligations for employers means you will no longer have to wait for (or request a million times!) your PAYG Summary! All of your wages, taxation and superannuation information will be stored in your MyGov account. Not all employers need to use STP yet so your 2019 tax return may not change, as of 1st July 2019 ALL employers must be u...sing STP. If you use an accountant to lodge your tax return - nothing will change If you complete your own tax return - make sure you have a MyGov account linked to the ATO If you are employed by one of our clients you would have seen our messages on your pay slips; if not make sure you speak with your employer to make sure they are meeting their ATO obligations.

07.01.2022 South Australia commenced Stage 2.5 today, it has helped some Hotels, Clubs and Restaurants, however, the majority (around 70%) are still heavily restricted by the 1 patron per 4 square metre rule. Some key changes effective from today (19/06/2020); - Room limit increases from 20 to 75 (1 per 4m2 still needs to be applied) - Venue limit 300 patrons... - TAB / Keno and Bingo tickets can recommence - Billiards, 8 Ball, Darts (and similar) can recommence, patrons who participate in these activities must provide their contact information on the venues contact tracing register Stage 3 will commence on Monday 29th June. Stage 3 will see gaming rooms re-open (possibly with a contact tracing register) and we also look forward to the State Governments announcement in regards to their consideration to reduce the 1 patron per 4 square metres to 1 patron per 2 square metres. If this restriction is reduced in Stage 3, it will make a huge difference to licensed venues. It will allow venues to re-open to at least 50% capacity (currently it is around 25%). The Hospitality Industry has been one of the hardest hit due to COVID-19 and the industry needs support sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed this restriction is eased and we can all safely return to our local and ensure as many of South Australias Restaurants, Hotels and Clubs re-open and they can begin their road to recovery.

With the ATO now requiring all businesses in Australia to digitally report their payroll information through Single Touch Payroll (STP), you may be finding it tricky to get your head around these new obligations.
