14.01.2022 Hey Warriors Family I want to do something a bit different today. I want to introduce you all to one of my favourite little Warriors.... This is Cody. ... Cody loves baseball and loves his team. He rocks up every week and supports his mates even when he can't play. He has a smile a mile wide and the most amazing, positive attitude. Cody's little brother is also a Warrior and at the moment Cody is helping out scoring for his brother's team because he can't play the game he loves. The reason I want to share this with you all is that Cody has faced a huge challenge this year but his attitude and enthusiasm for his game, his team and his club are still amazingly positive. He has found other ways to support his team while he can't play. He can do warm up throwing, scoring all sorts of things. These words are Cody's mum Karen's that they have kindly let me share with you all 12 months ago today Cody was diagnosed with Perthes and so we started on this Perthes journey. He has faced lots of challenges this past year. He has made some new friends through wheelchair sports. He loves his wheelchair nrl where this year he got to play for his favourite team the Bulldogs with new friends. He has attended wheelchair day camps and found that he loves wheelchair Basket Ball too. So our weekends are still filled with sports. He is allowed to do any sport he chooses so long as he stays in his chair and the only thing outside of wheelchair sports is swimming. Its hard to imagine what is like to be confined to a wheelchair at 9 years of age when you were very active and into all sports to have that taken away. It may be temporary and when compared to a life time isn't that long but right now feels like forever when your living it. Anyway the journey continues and we hope that this next year may allow him to get back to being more mobile. Cody you are an inspiration. You met your challenge head on like a warrior and haven't let it beat you. I love your courage and I am so proud of you. Keep following dr's orders and you will be back running the bases soon enough

13.01.2022 Hey Warriors Due to the horrifically hot forecast for Saturday games have been moved to 8 am and 10 am this week only Also Leonard South at Sutton is on Diamond 2 as it is shadier... ice buckets and towels will be available to keep everyone cool and we have plenty of zooper doopers available too please make sure you bring extra water for your players and don't forget yourselves parents

04.01.2022 Development for players with DOB between September 2008 and August 2011 We will offer a Development Program, the same as last year, a mix between playing games ...and development. Should the situation alter with Sydney Cup and it becomes a reality the 12 players involved in that program will be required to attend Development, this will be not negotiable. We will utilize the later start of the Hills Competition to conduct the Development on Saturday afternoon in September until Daylight Saving commences, when the program will move to Wednesday afternoon. The first day of the Program is 5th September @ Corbin Reserve, commencing at 1:30pm. Numbers are limited. Participation will be by invitation and will include younger players too young for LL next Season, the age range of Players is September, 2008 to August, 2011. Clubs are able to nominate players considered to have above average ability. That said, we consider that we have a very we have a good knowledge of players in the target age group. Players who have changed Clubs or Associations without changing residential address are ineligible to participate, unless they have obtained Friendship status. Hills Rule 2:10 contains the definition of a change of address which must have occurred between 31st August, 2019 and 1st September, 2020. The program will be offered at a charge of $20 to the players. Cheques are to be payable to Hills Junior Baseball. Whilst the charge for the participation is minimal it will be a very serious program. Regular attendance will be required as will as will be a positive attitude to what is being taught. We will expect nothing other than total dedication from players prepared to improve their skills. Your chances of being selected in the Hills representative team will not be adversely affected if you do not participate in this program. Commencing in December of this year we will conduct selection trials for the LL Representative team. That team will not be finalized until February, 2021, this is a LL Rule, not Hills. J Yard
