25.01.2022 Regretfully I am informing all athletes, volunteers and supporters that unfortunately I have had to make a decision not to proceed with this years Winter Challenge. The decision is due to significant personal health circumstances which will limit my physical activity and require a period of recovery of at least the next 6 weeks. The decision to cancel the event was not taken lightly and I am aware of the disappointment for those training and preparing for the event. Whilst th...e decision is personally disappointing, I look forward to working with the major event sponsors Tilford Auto Group, Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, Bike Ride, Next Edge Kayaking and Running Edge to schedule a great event in 2018. Full entry refunds for all entrants will be made this week for those already entered. Regards Wayne Chapman

23.01.2022 Looking for something to do on Saturday before race day. Saturday morning we planning to have a social familiarisation ride around our Mtb course. The course is normally only accessible on race day due to being on private land. Avantiplus will be on hand with a range of demo bikes to check out and take for a spin. Next Level Kayaking will also be there Saturday afternoon for some tips on all thing paddling and on Sunday with demo skis to check out and paddle. Times to be ...confirmed so stay tuned. 21.01.2022 ONE MONTH TO GO The countdown is one, today marks one month until the Winter Challenge! Now is the time to enter if you haven't yet.... Grab a team or challenge yourself to complete this iconic multi-sport event solo. Course comprises a 10km kayak/paddle leg; 32km road bike; 15km MTB and 10km run. 18.01.2022 Winter Challenge updates!! FREE Saturday 11th activities: 10:30am: MTB ride with the Avanti Team. ... Time to reveal all of the corners, uphills and downhills! The mtb course will be open for a familiarization ride. Come for a fun ride on Saturday so you can smash the ride on Sunday! To register, contact Wayne on: 0417310077 2:30pm: Kayaking tips and familiarization paddle. Ben from Next Level Kayaking will be offering a familiarization paddle on the course and also offer important tips on stability in the boat. To register, contact Ben on: 0439844649 Expression of interest is a must! We need a minimum of 20 people for the Saturday events to happen. 17.01.2022 The Winter Challenge is back in 2017 and the team has been busy organising and planning in an effort to bring you the greatest Winter Challenge yet. The date has been set for Sunday 27th August and is to be taking place at Orford on Tasmania's east coast. We are pleased to have the Tilford Auto Group as our major sponsor for this years event.... 13.01.2022 Winter Challenge updates: Registration opens tomorrow! Don't miss out on one of the most prestigious Multisport Races in Tassie! This year we are going to offer two race courses: The Traditional course and the Land Lovers course. The Land Lovers course will replace the paddle leg with an additional running leg.... Other great news is the introduction of the Schools Category. This category will be for school groups and people under the age of 18 years to compete. To help encourage the next generation of racers to join in, the distances for each leg will be a bit shorter (except for the running leg), and we will supply plastic kayaks. Stay tuned for more news and get involved in Tassie events!

13.01.2022 Hope we get a winters day like this on August 12 at Orford for the Winter Challenge. Not a bad place to start your paddle or if your in the land lovers category a nice 3 km ish beach run. Get your entries in.
