23.01.2022 SUPPORTING OUR DIGGERS. At Winter Creek Farm, we like the opportunity to give back to our community. This coming Anzac Day we will be holding a sausage sizzle to support the Combined Tramways & East Melb RSL. We will be donating our time and Winter Creek Farm sausages on Anzac Day in remembrance of our fallen and returned soldiers and their families.

13.01.2022 What better way to welcome in the new year than to introduce you to our latest addition to Winter Creek Farm. Our first South Devon heifer (female) calf was born in March to add to our breeding herd. Pixie can look forward to a long and happy life on Winter Creek Farm.

11.01.2022 Eating Meat Sustainably Australia is one of the largest meat eating capitals of the world. Humans eat only 51% of the beast and thats not considering the fact that most people only eat what we call prime cuts, eg. eye fillet, scotch fillet, rib eye, porterhouse and t-bone steaks which are found on the supermarket shelves and in restaurants. I bet you didnt know that this only makes up approximately 15kg of a 500kg beast. Buying only prime cuts of beef is not sustainable. ...There are only so many T-bones, scotch fillets and eye fillet steaks. When lesser known cuts of meat arent bought by consumers, butchers and restaurants alike, its turned into pet food, low value by-products or sold offshore for below production cost. At Winter Creek Farm, its evident that we are advocates for sustainable farming as our boxed beef provides our customers with 1kg of prime cut and the remaining 7kg are what is termed as non-prime. With these lesser known cuts we are able to produce mouth watering dishes with mince meat, Osso Bucco, chuck and rump steaks. And with winter around the corner, theres nothing more comforting than a delicious slow cooked meal!
