24.01.2022 I feel like there are huge gaps in our understanding of grief, pain and death and how to talk about it. We dont know how to help our friends when theyre suffering and were in such a hurry to make them feel better. Ive been on both sides of it and I wish Id seen this video.

This October 20, I'm joining the fun with stylist gem Featherhorse (and her fab friends) at Stackwood. 06.01.2022 Why is it human nature to focus on the negative? The things we dont have, not enough money, not enough stuff, not enough time. If you think happiness comes from having more and more youll never be happy. Think instead about what you have. Your health, your family, the sunshine, the coffee you have every morning, that you can turn on a tap and get clean water whenever you want it. We have so much to be thankful for that we take for granted. One of the most significant ways to shift mindset is to practice gratitude. Weve all got struggles that we can ruminate on but we also have so many things to be thankful for. Focus your attention on these things. 06.01.2022 When you have your breakfast this morning, try to take a few moments to really enjoy it. Put your phone down for a bit, close your eyes and savour the first few mouthfuls. Notice the textures, smells and flavours. Chew it slowly and carefully and be grateful for the abundance of food we have available to us. Im trying to remind myself to do this at least once a day. 06.01.2022 Introducing the Kaico Kettle designed in Japan by Makoto Koizumi. I bought one of these enamel kettles in Japan a few years ago and it brings me so much joy to have and to use every day. It’s so thoughtfully designed and super easy to clean. You can use it on the stovetop or fill it with boiling water. 02.01.2022 There are many moments woven into the fabric of daily life in Japan that make you pause and be present. This ritual of purifying hands at the temizuya was something we observed and learned while visiting Kyoto. Its a water pool at the entrance the Shinto shrines where you take a moment to wash away impurities (symbolically of body and heart) before you enter. There were so many beautiful rituals to experience and observe in Kyoto. This was one of my favourites.
