12.01.2022 2017 JOSS GROUP WINTON 300 | NEW QUALIFYING FORMAT This year’s edition of the Winton 300 will feature a brand-new, Formula 1-style elimination qualifying format! How it works:... The session is divided up into three segments. All cars participate in Q1 (30 minutes), the top 20 cars progress to Q2 (15 minutes) and the top 10 cars from Q2 progress to Q3 (10 minutes) for a final blast to determine who scores pole position. The times are reset in between each session, so to score pole position you need to set at least three fast laps. The new format is bound to produce plenty of excitement and drama, especially among those cars that are on the bubble at the end of Q1 and Q2.
