08.01.2022 I am so excited to update everyone on the Badimia Land Aboriginal Corporation (BLAC) Granites Cultural Heritage Interpretation Project. BLAC completed this project last week and we are all so happy with the outcome including the opportunities it has created for the Badimia People. BLAC would like to take this opportunity to send a big thank you to all of our partners: Thank you to the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation, the Department of Planning Lands and Heritage, the Shir...e of Mount Magnet & the Ramelius Community Benefit Fund and Lotterywest for believing in our Project. We would like to thank our very talented consultants. Thank you Scott Chisholm and staff from Terra Rosa Consulting for assisting BLAC with grant applications, and writing the initial Badimia Cultural Heritage Interpretation Plan. Thank you to Scott Watson from Multistory for designing the beautiful signage and for guiding BLAC and the installation team through this process. As many of you will know, BLAC is committed to utilising local contractors wherever possible. Thank you Stephen Thorpe from Stephen Thorpe Carpentry and Tiling for all your hard work installing the signage with assistance from the Badimia guys and working so closely with BLAC Scott Watson and myself. You really did bring our vision to life. Thank you MTF Mine Maintenance and Murchison Carpentry for making and installing ‘Cooran’ our statue. We absolutely love him, he fits right in like he was meant to be there! I would also like to thank the Badimia Directors and Members for working so well together to reach your goal of making one of your most important Aboriginal Sites, a beautiful place for all to enjoy and this is only the start.
