23.01.2022 Sadly, because of Covid-19 safety and restrictions, this year we are needing to cancel our annual Wirraway Bushdance Fundraising event. We look forward to 2021 when hopefully we can all get ‘bootscootin’ again for an amazing night of family fun. Stay tuned on social media early in 2021 for updates.

20.01.2022 It is with great sadness that today Wirraway has had to close its doors for the time being. Because of the COVID-19 virus and its impact on outdoor recreation as a whole in South Australia, all camps are cancelled effective immediately until further notice. The devastating financial consequences of this means that we have had to stand down staff immediately until further notice. This is an extremely heartbreaking but necessary decision, which we hope will mean Wirraway can bo...unce back better than ever once the crisis has passed. An email will be sent out shortly to all of those signed up to our April school holiday Musters program with further information. In this time I would like to thank my amazing staff at Wirraway. Their ability to love and care for people is beyond measure and their understanding of the situation, while uncertain, is incredibly humbling. 18.01.2022 - A Year of Change, Challenge & Celebration - Last weekend the Wirraway staff along with Glenn Munyard's family & friends celebrated and farewelled Glenn as the CEO of Wirraway after 8 years. We thank Glenn for his service and the positive impact he and his wife Teresea (who passed away in March this year) had over those years. Wirraway will continue to offer exceptional Christian camping experiences under new leadership. More info on that soon.

16.01.2022 On Sunday 22nd November Peter Arnott was called home by his heavenly father. In 1975 Peter along with his wife Nina founded Wirraway Homestead Youth Centre which has made a difference to the lives of thousands of young people and this legacy continues. In a ceremony at Government House in 1997 Peter and Nina were awarded Members of the Order of Australia medals for services to youth through the Wirraway Christian Youth Centre. He was a humble servant who reflected God’s ...love and in all things trusted God to provide. Peter saw the best in everyone and this trait endeared so many to him. He retired in December 2012, after 38 years of faithful service and ministry at Wirraway. Peter was a role model and mentor to many campers, volunteers and staff spanning three generations and will be missed by all who knew him. 14.01.2022 It is with sadness and grief that we need to inform all followers of Wirraway that Teresea Munyard, wife of Glenn (Wirraway CEO) and beautiful mum of staff members Shannon and Kirrily, passed away on the 31st of March. Due to the current restrictions concerning Covid-19, Teresea is unable to have what we would call a normal celebration service but it will be live-streamed by following the link below. We know that Teresea, over the last 8 years, has touched many young lives th...rough Wirraway and in particular through her skills in the horse area and in administration but mostly her heart for Jesus and for people, especially staff. We invite you to join us in celebrating her life on Wednesday the 15th of April at 2pm.

02.01.2022 Yesterday, our beautiful camp horse Toomey was laid to rest, after a short illness in his old age which he was not able to recover from. Toomey, remembered as the ‘horse who looks like a cow’, was a favourite among many with his gentle, loving and hard-working personality. Toomey’s son, is featured on the television series McLeod’s Daughters! He was our claim to fame, but our loyal lesson horse that we loved dearly (who would have been ridden by hundreds of campers over th...e years). Many thanks to Judith & Susie & our horse area team for looking after Toomey so well during this time. In memory, feel free to comment your favourite moments with our beloved Toomey.
