23.01.2022 As the winner of the ACT Small Provider of the Year for two consecutive years in a row, we launched a series of free workshops to 'Pay it Forward' and say thanks to our clients, suppliers and learners for all the support over the years. . We kicked off the first workshop last week on the topic of Activity Based Working (ABW). Our participants gained valuable insights into how to effectively manage flexible working arrangements and how to overcome the resistance to change. . Panel members Pam Price, Ken Snell, Kim Raysmith and Kristina Carroll collectively shared their best, and worst, project management experiences as well as the approaches and personal PM toolkit contents that they have relied on across their extensive and varied careers. 19.01.2022 As ACTs number one Small RTO of the year for both 2018 and 2019, we pride ourselves in being a leader in vocational education. So, it is with great excitement that we awarded 25 graduates from Access Canberra with their Diploma of Government certificates this week. The participants balanced the challenges of work, life and study to complete their Diploma within 12 months. The benefits noted by the workplace included seeing an increase in confidence, a better understanding of governance and project management, improved leadership and skills and refined approaches to the challenges of Government. We cant wait to see how these graduates will put the tools from the Diploma into use, finding practical ways to improve and contribute to Government outcomes!

12.01.2022 We recently had the privilege of working with two not-for-profit agencies, OzHarvest Canberra and Mental Health Foundation ACT, to tackle wicked problems which support the sustainability of these key community agencies. Graduates from our Diploma of Government used their experience and learning to find new approaches to marketing, sponsorship and team work across these organisations.

12.01.2022 Since September last year, Wisdom Learning has been working with a cohort of Regulatory and Compliance Officers to develop their government investigation skills. Whilst the program has transitioned to full digital delivery, we were able to take participants through a series of simulation scenarios at Thoroughbred Park in order to complete their major assessment. Using role players and themed around a public festival, the scenarios simulated real-life incidences of compliance ...breaches that many organisations deal with regularly, in areas such as liquor and gambling licensing and regulation, and working with vulnerable people. While our assessors and role players put our learners through their paces, it was a great opportunity for the group to demonstrate their effectiveness at working with each other in a team approach, as they identified, evaluated and acted upon a range of compliance breaches. As the group approaches the conclusion of the program, they're looking forward to achieving their PSP40416 Certificate IV in Government Investigations qualification, and applying their skills as professional investigators in their roles into the future. 09.01.2022 NAWIC ACT kicked off their 2020 mentoring program yesterday at Wisdom! 26 mentees and mentors are participating in the 6 month program. This first session was about meeting one another, having some fun and getting prepared for their first one on one sessions. The mentees and mentors will be catching up again in March to share learnings and experiences and will continue to hold sessions throughout the program with a celebration and wrap up in July. 08.01.2022 It was smiles all round today as our Access Canberra Certification IV Government Investigations program came to a close. Over 13 months, participants have learnt everything they need to know to carry out high quality investigations and regulatory and compliance activities in government contexts. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, including when all learning had to transition to digital, our participants have remained committed to their learning. We’re looking forward to holding a graduation ceremony once all assessments have been finalised. Congratulations everyone!

06.01.2022 So it is that wonderful time of year when we get to celebrate the sensational team! Our end of year celebration WISFEST is a surprise every year. Yesterday we kicked started the day with an early bus ride to a surprise destination. Three hours later, we arrived in Sydney and hopped on our very own private yacht and cruised around the harbour. We then enjoyed some delicious fresh seafood for lunch. Afterwards, we were back on the bus off to another surprise activity, a paint...ing class! Everyone got their artistic side out and painted some lovely canvases. We then headed home but not without another surprise, a live musician on the bus! The team jammed out to a range of songs for the drive home.
