25.01.2022 Happy Valentines Day folks! Our founder Bev visited the nursing home she did her aged care placement in. What she learnt from that experience is to take time out for those that care for you. Or to hang out with someone that needs a big smile to their face! Everybody needs a little love in their life! Have a lovely day! xox
24.01.2022 We chatted to Khurram, who has won the New Resident Volunteer Award all while juggling a Bachelor of Biomedicine at The University of Melbourne. He says he is inspired by the smiles on the faces of people he tries to help. "Whenever, I am teaching young migrants some school subject and they grin to portray their understanding satisfies me to an extent that it becomes a motivation to continue community service and gives an incredible feeling of being useful to the society," he says. 20.01.2022 Hey everyone! My name is Bev and I am so excited to create the Generations of Wisdom page :) In a sense it has taken four years to gain the skills and abilities to make this happen! I have had the pleasure of interviewing many seniors and young people through the internship program, that I created called Celebrate Living History. I have learnt so much and have gained such insight into different worlds just by listening. It is my goal to not only share this knowledge but encourage others to contribute their little nuggets of advice. Everyone has wisdom to share! Whats yours? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O_j75_vxNY
16.01.2022 Such sad news! David Bowie has lost his battle with cancer today. The star died peacefully surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle. His latest album Blackstar was released on his 69th birthday just last week. Thanks for sharing your talent with the world. May you rest in peace.
09.01.2022 Our first nugget of wisdom comes from Griffith University intern Andrejs Boboks who interviewed Robert about how to live a more creative and passionate life. Robert says his advice to younger generations is if you are going to live a creative and fulfilling life, doing something about mindful awareness is an excellent thing to do. It helps you to stay sane, stay in the present and helps you to awake to your life and nature, what it really is about he says... That helps you to create some sort of foundation. In addition Robert says to play it cool and live your life as it comes to you. Deal with your ups and downs and create what you want to do with your life with passion and with rational sensibility. 08.01.2022 Say Hi to Arthur! He has served in the Australian army for 21 years during the period 1970-1991. He says it is hard to put into words the feeling you get when you attend an Anzac Day service. "I find that it is important to remember that it is children, young adults that are leaving our shores to help keep Australia a safe and friendly nation." Thanks to Griffith University intern Andrejs Boboks for the great interview that can be seen at www.celebratelivinghistory.com
04.01.2022 Well done to Nerisa Wilkinson! She has graduated with a Certificate III in Information Digital Media and Technology. She shows you can do anything at any age. Persistence and a thirst for wisdom is a truly great trait to have A wise owl indeed.
04.01.2022 Meet Griffith University intern Michael who interviewed Terry on the Gold Coast. If Terry could give advice to anyone it would be "Just be yourself and try hard to do your best and that is it. You can never stop trying, no matter what you do, whether it's right or wrong you can still try." Have a gander at his story at http://www.celebratelivinghistory.com.au/the-man-that-neve/
