25.01.2022 7am this morning a woman was waiting to cross the road at a crossing on my way to a class. Two cars didn’t stop and just went on by before I stopped to let her cross. She looked disgruntled and upset they hadn’t seen her and stopped, looking back towards the cars as she crossed the road that were long gone from her vision. Meanwhile I am sitting waiting and watching, she didn’t acknowledge me or even look in my direction so engrossed in ...the actions of the previous two cars. She got across the road where she wanted to be and I got to class where I wanted to be the only difference is how we got there. The moral to me sharing this is; you can choose to stay focused on the past and be disgruntled by all the ‘hard done by’s’ and what you feel you don’t have but you miss out on what you do have that is right in front of you. That woman could of chosen to stay focused on the person that did stop and see her instead of those that didn’t stop and see her which if she had I would of smiled and waved acknowledging of the situation/her. As cliche as it sounds gratitude is the key to transforming your mindset in a moment. Notice when you focus on the lack verse the abundance you have in your life and choose to shift the focus and just notice how you thoughts and feelings change in an instance. The only quick fixes I will endorse as a practitioner and someone that has (and continues) invested in personal growth and wellbeing over the decades are ones that will hardly cost you anymore than what you are already spending, so here are a few; - * ensure you are drinking clean water. Stop consuming unfiltered tap water. You can support local suppliers for as little as $11 for 10L-15L natural spring water that deliver direc...t to your door and recycle the empty containers. * Switch to eating organic, local and in season produce. Yes that may mean you are only eating apples, pears and mandarins like they are going out of fashion one season and watermelon and mangoes in another but that is the point - nature knows what to grow when which translates for us knowing what to eat when that bests support your innate health. *Cook your own meals using whole foods as much as you can. This actually becomes the most cost efficient and nutritious way to give your mind and your body what it needs. * Be asleep before 10pm (even better at 9pm especially when under stress) give your body the best opportunity to regulate hormones and support metabolic functions. * if you are prone to anxiousness and comparing yourself to the rest of the world then twitch off social media and start connecting with people and nature in deeper ways. *Lift your spirit and volunteer your gifts with others that value/need them as and where you can. Equally if you are a person in need reach out to the numerous charities that are here to support you. . 18.01.2022 ~ You may have been feeling the build up to the meeting of these three celestials each signifying destruction and completion. Ardra's symbol is a teardrop, and its presiding deity is Rudra, a storm god who controls destruction and dissolution. Ardra (literally 'wet' or 'moist') is associated with wetness, dampness, vapors and liquids, and with their movement or flow. ... The watery teardrop implies loss or disappointment, as does the deity, Rudra, whose name is etymologically associated with weeping, and also with roaring and howling, which are storm sounds. Ardra thus connotes the processes through which loss and disappointment may take place. This transit is an opportunity for a cleansing, and this cleansing happens with destruction. It’s very important that during this time, you keep a meditation practice. This is because without a meditation practice, you will not have the propensity to undergo this cleansing but rather, you will have a propensity to be confused. Generally speaking, there is a great potential for spiritual and societal benefit due to Rahu in Ardra. If you are observant, you will notice that you are feeling a destructive energy. It is important that you allow this destructive energy to pass through you and that you do not react against this energy. Ardra is known for it’s lack of gratitude and a certain malice traditionally associated with this nakshatra. Ardra also rules diplomacy, people who are critical by nature, cruelty, lawlessness, perversity, self-centered attitudes, lying and cheating. When such powerful bodies of light coming together remember they are ultimately here to bring light to our Samskaras which are the habits, patterns, impressions and mental/emotional addictions that most people play out over and over for their entire lives that create our suffering. As in Ayurveda ‘like increases like and we balance with opposites’ so it is beneficial to say that taking time to meditate, be self reflective, notice when being judgemental or critical, be compassionate and give gratitude for everything is here to benefit you in some way. Like Ardra shed a tear for feelings of disappointment and let go of the the expectations you have of yourself and others to be anything more than what is capable at this time. 16.01.2022 . There is a lot of focus on mental, physical and emotional health yet the state of ones spiritual health is what I feel of greatest importance. . Growing up in the Catholic system of school and having attended countless masses, Sunday school and parish gatherings I am somewhat resistant to the word God (May need some EFT on that one ).... . I recall going to confession and waiting in the queue racking my brain to work out what I should be confessing. At one Sunday mass my sisters and I were asked to bring the offerings down to the alter for communion which ensued an uncontrollable outbreak of laughter all the way down in front of the whole congregation and for most of the masses I would genuflect up and down repeating on queue the responses with very little connection to what I was saying. . Fast forward 20 years and I came to understand spirituality in a completely different way. I realised that it’s one thing to ‘confess’ your unhelpful behaviours to a priest and another to humbley take responsibility and say sorry to the person I have directly impacted with my words and/or actions. . When I give offering now, I laugh if I feel to laugh and I am silent when I feel to be silent understanding it is my intention that matters most. . If I am going to respond to others and the world around me, I will not merely follow just because that is what will make me belong more or be loved more. I respond from an authentic and empathetic place because I have cultivated the ability to do so and understand that I am still fallible to unhelpful behaviour which I am willing to acknowledge. . When I experience Reiki and connect with spiritual guided life energy I remember that anything that binds me is not liberating the soul. It’s not about the name ‘god’ ‘divine’ ‘universal’ it’s about how you feel. . 15.01.2022 . A few people have asked about what Moong Dal recipe I use so here it is! . INGREDIENTS ... 1 cup of whole green moong dal 1 tbsp fresh ginger root small leek finely sliced 1 cup of cubed pumpkin (Kent or butternut) 1/2 cup of peas 1/2 tsp fenugreek powder (I also use the seeds if you can’t find powder) 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/4 tsp all spice - bit random in a Moong dal recipe as it’s a Jamaican dried berry but it brings a cinnamon, clove, nutmeg flavour to it. If you don’t have this am sure it would still taste lovely without. pinch of black pepper 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder pinch of hing (asafoetida 7-8 fresh curry leave 1 tsp salt lemon to taste - I usually juice 1 whole lemon Coriander as and if desired 8 cups of water 1 tbsp ghee 1-2 garlic cloves - optional (Remove centre stalk to make more sattvic) 1/2 onion chopped finely - optional as the leek is a great substitute also Optional 1 tsp of fennel seeds - I personally don’t add this as much as find the flavour quite overpowering in the dal, instead I chew them after my meal to aid digestion. METHOD Soak moong for 2 - 4 hours in water. Rinse moong dal until the water is clear. In saucepan had moong with 8 cups of water and bring to boil. In another saucepan add water to quarter high and bring to boil, place pumpkin in steam tray on top and cover. Cook until tender. Once water is boiled on saucepan with mung Dal, turn the heat down and continue to cook on medium heat until the dal has reached a creamy texture approx 35mins. Once Dal has reached creamy texture, turn off from the heat and add in all the powder spices, hing, turmeric, pepper, salt, and lemon and stir well. Heat ghee in fry pan until melted then add (here is where you would add the chopped leek, curry leaves and fresh ginger, cook until slightly golden and leek is soft, if you're adding onion and garlic add this here at the beginning. Add the cooked mixture to the dal and stir well. Lastly pour the cooked pumpkin and 1/2 cup of peas into Dal and gentle fold into the mix. You want to fold until the pumpkin break down and becomes more puree like than chunky. I like to let it sit for awhile off the heat to cool a little and allow the spices to blend with the pumpkin. lastly squeeze the lemon juice and add salt and pepper as needed for taste. Top with fresh coriander and enjoy with rice, chapati or roti Enjoy xx

07.01.2022 When you naturally learn about who you are, you naturally let go of who your trying to be. As it’s written in the Heavens of time and the Earth of space, the two come together to coordinate your awakening. Not everyone awakens from a place of spiritual practice, sometimes it’s that the pain is so present inside of them it is enough to shake them to the very core of their being. ... Who would I be without this pain? Who would I be without the problem? Who would I be without this thought? Who would I be without this habit? Who would I be without this fear? Who would I be without this relationship? When you begin to awaken it can feel like your whole world becomes unstable. The very fabric of your existence no longer feels comfortable let alone sustaining, it’s a miracle you have survived at all. The reflex points on your feet can fluctuate with the weeks and months dependent on your health and wellbeing choices. 05.01.2022 This year has been a monumental reflection of the state of consciousness that causes suffering. When you swing the pendulum of duality you will find yourself in a state of constant flux unable to ground the peace and freedom your soul desire. Almost all human actions, subtle or gross, selfish or altruistic, are motivated by some sort of desire. Actions can be classified with the help of the Vedic concept of the Four Purusharthas, the four fun...damental human desires. These four aims or objects of life are dharma () , artha () , kama (/) and moksha (). What influences one persons actions verses another you can say was/is written in the stars. Where one person can be strongly focused on the aim of dharma (doing what you were born to do) another may find that accumulating the resources to live comfortably is of greater importance (artha). All four life-goals are important to a healthy, well-rounded life, but most people do not pursue each goal with equal enthusiasm because their own individual karmas encourage them to prefer particular courses of action. Almost all humans, however, need to achieve all four life-goals at least to some degree if they hope to achieve a life well lived. The happiness received from the actions of dharma, artha and kama are limited because they are conditioned. Absolute fulfillment and true happiness develops only after an individual develops a clear vision of Reality. The ‘reality’ which you perceive the world for most is not a clear vision because it is coloured with the ego’s fears, desires and perceptions. Question your thoughts, feelings and judgements as what you focus on becomes your reality and the ultimate question you want to ask yourself is this how I want to live?.
