17.01.2022 -AWARD NOMINATION CONFIRMS A WISE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE- The ingenuity and impact of WISE Its in Your Hands reusable cups has been independently recognised and acknowledged when named as a 2019 Banksia Sustainability Awards finalist. WISE Its in Your Hands is a wholly-owned Australian company that supplies re-usable cups to stadia, events and festivals. Its mission is to remove single-use disposable cups from the environment and replace them with re-usable cups.... The Banksia Sustainability Awards seek out and recognise innovation and leadership through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These global goals aim to unite the world businesses, governments and citizens to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and protect the planet. The Awards, conducted by the Banksia Foundation, are the longest running and most internationally recognised sustainability Awards in the world. Category winners will be announced on December 3. WISE Its in Your Hands reusable cups replace toxic single-use disposable plastic cups and can be washed and re-used up to 500 times. Within a year of operation, WISE Its in Your Hands cups have seen over one million cups being diverted from landfill the equivalent of 3,500 household 120 litre wheelie bins. Craig Lovett, co-founder of WISE Its in Your Hands, said the Banksia Sustainability Award nomination was validation within business and within communities that single-use disposable plastic cups should be removed from all major sports, festivals and outdoor events in Australia. The nomination is a fantastic accolade to our clients, suppliers and people within the business who have believed in us from the outset. We also thank the judges who spend so much time and dedication in evaluating the many worthy Award entries, said Lovett. WISE reusable cups are a win-win-win-win partnership involving the general public who want a more sustainable future, venues who are looking to eliminate waste going to landfill while reducing cleaning costs, caterers who no longer need to purchase single-use plastic cups and the environment. We have witnessed a growing seismic shift in attitude by venue operators towards the elimination of single-use plastic cups and we project that in excess of 3.5 million plastic cups will be diverted from landfill, through the implementation of WISE reusable cups, in 2019-20, he added. 17.01.2022 Last week WISE supplied re-usable cups for 2x U2 concerts at SCG in Sydney, this week WISE is supplying all cups for a CLUSTERFUNK concert in Marvel stadium in Melbourne. Both bands wanted to ELIMINATE all single use plastics from their gigs and WISE is the solution to that problem. 11.01.2022 FIREFIGHT THANKS WISE FOR ELIMINATING 300,000 PLASTIC CUPS FROM LANDFILL TEG Dainty and TEG Live wish to thank reusable cups provider WISE Its In Your Hands, which has confirmed that it eliminated 300,000 single use plastic cups from landfill during the by FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA (#FireFightAustralia) concert weekend at ANZ Stadium in February this year. The bushfire relief concert on February 16 may have been the largest stadium event ever in Australia in terms of beer sales... on a single day, with over 15,000 beers poured every 15 minutes during the last five hours of the concert. Thanks to WISE thousands of heavy-duty Weights and Measures & NMI certified Re-Use drinking cups were placed in 54 bars around the Stadium in preparation for FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA and Queen + Adam Lamberts Rhapsody Tour performance two days earlier. Fans were invited to pay a $2 for their cup, which they could take at the end of the day as a souvenir, return and receive $1 back, or donate it to selected FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA charities. WISEs team was assisted operationally by Parramatta Two Blues rugby club, whose volunteers collected cups from around the venues and managed the donation cages. Donations to FIRE FIGHT from cups came to $19,000 during the concert with 300,000 single use plastic cups eliminated from landfill at ANZ Stadium during the weekend, including Queen + Adam Lamberts show. Geoff Jones, CEO of TEG, said: TEG sends our deepest thanks to Craig Lovett and his team at WISE for mobilising and delivering on this fantastic project in just six days. It was herculean effort and we were impressed and grateful at how they delivered for us. Craig Lovett said: Our mission at WISE if to remove all single-use beverage plastic from major sports and outdoor events in Australia to help our fragile environment. We were grateful for the opportunity to deliver on our mission for FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA and for the chance to make a difference for bushfire relief and the environment.
