25.01.2022 Current score below. If you can contribute a #nottie please do
24.01.2022 #weareback #Nov28 and here is the new parkrun Walker and Runner code. Things will operate a little differently and I just saw this wonderfully in action at Bellerive parkrun last week and it was still free, still 5k and still parkrun
23.01.2022 This saturday will be the 10th weekend in a row without parkrun but the good news is you can still enjoy Jeff's tips with another vital tip #dfyb. parkrun doesn't allow barcodes on mobile phones as of yet, so keep laminating or get online and purchase those wristbands or shoe tags in readiness for that next parkrunday. That's when again we will truly shout "how good is this!!"
23.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to all of our Wishart community Mums. Hope you have been spoilt today. And if you could not celebrate with your Mum, we're thinking of you too.
22.01.2022 This time next week we will be welcoming parkrunners back to the first Wishart parkrun in 9 months! We are really looking forward to parkrunners, and volunteering at our beautiful cool course. Thanks so much to all those who have already put their hand up to volunteer! Remember only virtual high-5's and no spitting. Be kind to everyone and the Run Brief is now timeboxed to 2 minutes but everyone must be socially distanced during that time. Some thin...gs are still the same - still 5km, friendly and free, start time 7am and be there by 6:50am. #DFYB don't forget your barcode - no barcode, no time. We are operating parkruns in Qld under an approved Covid safe plan and we really ask for your co-operation with this. I posted last week the Walker & Runner Code, below is the Volunteer Code. We will also be asking all people attending to scan the QR code or fill in a virtual tracing register, some details were sent to all parkrunners today in an email from HQ. QR code and virtual tracing register will be on the BBQ. Please byo pens to fill in register. We'll remind you again about the important points during the week, but get ready for 7am next Saturday! Adrian, lameduck ED #adrianishappy #loveparkrun See more

21.01.2022 Another week and another tip from our floating Jeff! Hope everyone is maintaining their fitness. I've heard of some people doing "5k to Couch" - that's not what we want!! Do a Freedom walk or run and remember virtual high-5's are awesome! We will back on a saturday morning in no time. Enjoy this week's installment!
19.01.2022 With so many people missing parkrun, we wanted to take you back to that all important part of every event... the run briefing. Watch, sing along, reminisce and look forward to meeting at Wishart Community Park in the not-so-distant future. Stay safe everyone and keep up your fitness
17.01.2022 We've been waiting all week for Jeff's next pawesome tip! We love our pooches at Wishart and 2 or 3 over the years have been featured in the parkrun newsletters "parkdog of the week" section. Virtual Run Don't forget to enter the Logan Fun Run for a 5k/10k walk/jog/run and get some bling :-) https://www.griffith.edu.au//griffith-sport-logan-fun-run-
17.01.2022 UPDATES!! I know everyone is waiting with baited breath for last week's #nottie results and yes Wishart is #NUMBER1 thanks to every one of you contributing (whoops no high-5's at parkrun anymore, just a or a - elbow). A huge 126, simply amazing and logging 180 altogether #nottie's!! #adrianishappy Note: there are only 2 weeks of #notparkrun left so let's keep in the habit and log again for 2 more weeks and keep us there til (real)parkrun starts 28th November. -----...----------------------- #weareback parkrun UPDATE Also we are working very hard to get everything together for the restart. We need a TimeKeeper still for the 28th. Exciting news: we are now allowed to let parkrunners run and also double as the barcode scanners. So I will only have 2 permanent slots for barcode scanners on the roster and the first lot of finishers can assist by doubling as barcode scanners. Then after the event, that volunteer can simply scan the QR code I will have at the picnic table to record the volunteer credit. **All volunteers must download the parkrun volunteer app.** https://www.parkrun.com.au/results/notparkrun/ See more
16.01.2022 #nottie UPDATE --------- Last week we finished on top of the Aussie pile with 126 !!! In the spirit of parkrun we even had a few recipricol notties logged by Inverloch, Wynnum, Minnippi and our sister parkrun Mansfield. With (real)parkrun just one more week away, the wind has gone out of notties I know but keep logging them. BTW don't forget to let others know about the restart on the 28th. ... We welcomed Kathryn Lentell, the Crambs, TOC, Etsuko, Kazuhiro, Chiyoko, Barbara Robinson, Carol Wingreen, Bronwyn Spies, the Donegans, Rob Trims, Rob Regazzoli, Roz, Sharon Wood, Brendan Hunt, Christie Jenkins, the McKern's, Susan Stapleton, Brett Beavan, the Henderson's, Scott North, Caity Bridges and Sheamus O'Connor into Team Wishart (not)parkrun last week. It was another fast weekend with no less than 40 finishers recording PBs to be one of the fastest parkruns on the table!! This week 2 of our nottie regulars will no doubt reach the very impressive 100 (not)parkrun milestone!! Who are they?? Enjoy the weather and remember to log your (not)parkrun, this is practically the 2nd last week!! See where we are on the top 5 table: (sort by parkrunners) https://www.parkrun.com.au/results/notparkrun/
16.01.2022 Such a tight finish sunday night between the current Australian #nottie powerhouses! Just 2 in it!! Again no other Qld parkruns in the top 20 so we have lots to be proud about Wishart Lets go for it again full steam ahead this week, we've already hit the ground running. Keep reminding your friends, neighbours and even random strangers in traffic that they need to log a #Nottie . --------- Volunteer Callout Now as we know #weareback on November 28th which means we need vol...unteers! Please email [email protected] to get on the roster and be a #volunteerHero #loganottie #makeadrianhappy #wishartparkrun #iloveparkrun See more
16.01.2022 Fun and awesome fact: we are on the cusp of our 50000th finisher at our fantastic event. ---- While I have your attention, please do not congregate at Wishart Community park around 7am Saturday mornings, it reflects poorly on parkrun and the event team as people think there is an organised event still going on which currently is not allowed. You can do your freedom runs anytime.
15.01.2022 As we know Inverloch is a formidable #nottie player. The best out there in Australia. And they do their best work on Sundays. The current score is 84 plays 51 to us so don't relax tomorrow if you do a long run Sunday morning please log a #nottie
15.01.2022 Hi everyone, the latest parkrun Co-vid19 update is out. Have a read. Meanwhile hope everyone has been keeping up their 5km runs during the chilly days. We realised what everyone is missing and that is : The weekly Run Briefing! Oh yes that staple 5-6 minutes every week preceding your parkrun . Well no one asked for it but we are delivering as usual so stay put, stay on course, stay focussed as the Lockdown Run Briefing has been recorded and is being spliced together as I t...ype. Featuring the new hit parkrun song "Take Me Home, Newnham Rd". Start getting the song in your head to sing along "Almost seven, saturday morning..." Stay tuned for the Lockdown Run Briefing!! https://blog.parkrun.com/au/tag/covid-19/
13.01.2022 Go virtual with this year's Logan Fun Run on May 17th! It's 10k or 5k or a 1k Junior dash. Note: Pre-event Bib postage closure is this sunday 10th May so get in quick for that. Supporting the vital AEIOU charity it's your chance for some bling this autumn season, as we know the bling hanger is fairly bare so far this year. **Discount code will be posted below soon.** https://www.griffith.edu.au//griffith-sport-logan-fun-run-
12.01.2022 Incredibly proud of one of our RD's Colin & Megan and their big little house. Check it out on YouTube below.
12.01.2022 Some great news at last for parkrunners about the return of our favourite saturday morning thing to do. Note: they haven't banned songs (prerecorded only from this point forward of course). Spare a thought that 8th August is our official 6th Anniversary too! Why not on the weekend do a (not)parkrun around the course and think to yourself "how good is this!!"

08.01.2022 Have you been (not)parkrunning? Post your 5km (not)parkrun for this week. Check last week's results: https://www.parkrun.com.au/wishart/results/notparkrun/
07.01.2022 We are expecting big numbers, so remember social distancing and other precautions. And if co-vid has taught us anything it is to be kind to each other and remember the little things which usually actually turn out to be the big things in life. So bring your friends and family and celebrate life. No one can wipe the from my face with my fav weekly activity on again. There will be a first timer's briefing at 6:45am if this is your first time to parkrun. #weareback
06.01.2022 As part of our requirement to reopen parkrun in Queensland, Wishart parkrun is required to display a QR code for contact tracing purposes. We encourage all participants, volunteers and spectators to scan the code and sign in each week. This QR code will also be displayed at the BBQ table and a couple other locations. Please note, if you do not have access to a phone to scan the QR code, you can also enter the web address listed below the image, into your browser and access the sign in page. Thank you for helping ensure we conduct a COVID safe event and your consideration of the health and wellbeing of others.
05.01.2022 Events are returning under our COVID-19 Framework and there are some guidelines we're asking all parkunners to follow. #loveparkrun
04.01.2022 28th November is the date for the return of parkrun in Queensland (go Qld!!). Over the next couple of weeks I will be posting the parkrun covid19 framework policies we will be operating under. But no huge changes, just in line with normal covid health practices in Qld. Eg pre-event brief will be 2 minutes maximum. Meanwhile below is the (not)parkrun Aus top 5 and as usual halfway through the week we are well on top . Keep it up everyone!!! #nottie #loganottie #makeAdrianhappy
03.01.2022 We are on tomorrow usual time and place 7am - look forward to seeing you all !! First timers briefing is at 6:55 and the main briefing is at 6:58. Don't forget your barcode and be sure to check in. https://www.parkrun.com/trace/3my
03.01.2022 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - EVENT DIRECTOR POSITION By now you have probably heard the exciting news, that parkruns have been given clearance to recommence in Queensland from the 28th of November! However we also have some sad news to share. That is, after many years of service to Wishart parkrun, Adrian has decided to step down as the Wishart parkrun Event Director.... Adrian has provided a great example of what is required as an Event Director; an enthusiasm for parkrun and a commitment to the local Wishart community to provide a fun and friendly fitness event that is free, weekly and timed. Please note, bunny ears or being a fantastic runner are not required prerequisites for the role! If you are interested in this role, would like more information or have any questions, please message the Wishart parkrun Facebook page directly or send an email to [email protected] Thank you very much. Mark Musk Wishart parkrun Event Ambassador
03.01.2022 This morning the Queensland Government announced an easing of restrictions in Greater Brisbane following the 3-day lockdown, as such, parkrun events in Greater Brisbane can operate from this Saturday 16 January 2021. Face masks are not mandatory at parkrun. As per our COVID-19 Walker and Runner Code and COVID-19 Volunteer Code, participants are asked to observe local COVID-19 guidelines to and from the event. ... Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!
02.01.2022 (not) parkrun is live now - record yourself on a 5km run, put your time up and see how you go!
01.01.2022 2 sleeps to go -------------- Overall here are the things you need to be aware of for our restart: scan into the event using a QR code at Wishart on saturday or below beforehand... sanitise your hands BEFORE getting out of your car NOTE: key container no longer in operation ------run briefing is timeboxed to 2 minutes and everyone must be socially distanced. No special shoutouts for milestone achievements. quickly assemble in our start zones (0-20min, 20-25min etc) and we will start the run immediately. No spitting or high fives walk, jog or run 5km (that's the same as usual!!) once you get your finish token, go straight to the barcode scanners and hold your barcode up to the mobile phone. Once scanned, hold your token up to the mobile phone and drop it into the bucket. BOOYAH!! Normal parkrun rules still apply: dogs on short leash and people friendly, U11's must be accompanied by a parent, no scooters, no barcodes on mobile phones, no barcode-no result.
01.01.2022 #nottie UPDATE!! Again this week Wishart is #Number1 #nottie parkrun across Australia (about 380 parkruns in Aus) thanks to a massive 87 different parkrunners logging a 5km run anywhere! #adrianishappy But this is the last week of #notties for Queensland parkrunswhich means #weareback this saturday 28th November for the (real)parkrun #therealmccoy. Let's make it a big #nottie week anyway as we look forward to Wishart event #289 - 7 months in the making
