20.01.2022 Everybody meet Noah! Noah was found in his mums pouch on the side of the road in tynong after she unfortunately had been hit and killed by a car. A lovely lady named marnie stopped and helped him and took him to our sister shelter back to nature wildlife, where they contacted me to look after him! #wishwildlifeshelter #backtonature #noah #roojoey

19.01.2022 On sunday afternoon we got a call from help for wildlife in regards to a kangaroo stuck in a backyard in rowville. Fortunately we were already with elaine and chris from vets for compassion after they had darted a big boy for us, so they followed us to the address in rowville to help us dart her. She was originally next door, where they had a big dog, this poor girl had managed to squeeze herself between colourbond fence and cyclone fencing that had been cable tied together... to get into the next yard away from the dog! Luckly for her the dog hadnt managed to attack her. Chris was able to dart her and lucky they back right onto a scout hall/park which is where she came from so we were able to release her after she woke up to be back with the mob. Good news story

19.01.2022 Tae is such a twit... fill her bowl up them she decides to spill it everywhere

16.01.2022 A huge thank you to @conservationcollectivenativeplantnursery for generously donating these Australian native plants; they will be well welcomed by our wildlife in care!

15.01.2022 Hello WISH family! I am writing here today to ask if anyone could help us! All to often we go to rescues where we have to drive through paddocks, up hills, over sticks and branches etc, basically 4wd tracks sometimes (even through parks like lysterfield or melbourne water land) ... And there has been a couple of times where we have actually gotten stuck (see below pictures ha) and we have had to call in favours with friends with 4wds to get us out! Having this recovery set would be so incredibly helpful on rescues, not just for the risk of our vehicle getting stuck, but for times were we also have to lift a kangaroo out of places where its gone down a steep hill and not have to do it by hand! If you can chip in even $5 towards this recovery set, we would be forever grateful it would help us more than you could ever know with rescues and would reassure us that if we were to get stuck then we would be able to get ourselves out safely! https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au//domin8r-x-12-000lb-winch WISH - wildlife incident safe haven BSB - 013 312 ACC - 418 548 292

14.01.2022 Guess who has a name!! Thank-you everybody for your suggestions, it made the decision alot easier! A few people commented her new name and we thought it was only fitting because she was rescued in Chum Creek. Introducing..... CC!

12.01.2022 Oh teddy you make me laugh

12.01.2022 Today was not a great day :( Knowing i couldnt do anything to fix this little man absolutely killed me. He was found by a lovely member of the public jumping around his deceased mum. ... He delivered him here and the first thing i noticed was he was covered in his mums blood :( He went straight for a shower and while showering him i noticed that when he stood up i couldnt see his hip bone when he was standing (as circled in the last picture of bluey) One side i could, but the other just didnt look right. I took him to work and we did some xrays, what we found was not good :( I sent the pictures to healesville just to confirm but they agreed it was not going to be fixable :( He was the cutest roo, he had un even ears (must have been born like that) and just the gentlest soul, so trusting in me. Im so sorry beautiful man, im sorry i couldnt do anything more for you. I really wish i could. Every single loss, no matter how long i have spent with an animal, slowly chips away at my heart.

11.01.2022 Big kids went for a visit to mumma bernys today, to start getting them used to being up there so it makes the transition from us to her easier. Bark decided he wanted to get out of his own bed in the car and crash with his sister. They ended up cuddling Sibling love! ... I have had previous babies bond very closely, but these two are on a another level being twins. They run around and chase each other, box each other, suck each others ears, cuddle and preen each other. So much closer than any other babies we have had. See more

09.01.2022 WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTOS!! Photos will be distressing, please don't look if you don't think you can handle it. Tonight this beautiful big healthy boy was PURPOSLY hit and left ALIVE to die a slow and painful death. He was on the side of the road on wellington road across from the clean way station. (There is a dirt area you can pull off into) ... There was NO evidence what so ever to suggest he was hit on the road. There was tyre marks leading to where there was struggling imprints in the gravel and leading to blood and fur (i suspect he had gone under the car, thats what takes fur off) There was blood spots all over the gravel and as i said a spot you could see where he struggled and he had managed to drag himself further away. How can someone purposly swerve off the road to hit an animal that was not harming them in any way what so ever? The human race is so cruel and i am so disappointed in people that think this is okay! Im sorry buddy, im sorry the human race is cruel, im sorry that they push you out of your homes and then purposly mow you down like you're nothing. You didnt deserve this. Hop freely buddy!

09.01.2022 G’day W.I.S.H followers! Today we gained a new member of the family. Her mumma was unfortunately hit by a car and gained her wings in Chum Creek but thankfully the little miss is safe and well. Currently cuddling up to Poppet! Now we have come to a dilemma, nobody can agree on a name so we are leaving it up to you guys. Parents, we would love to get your kids involved with naming the Joey so get some ideas off them! ... Comment names and we will pick a winner in the coming days! See more

08.01.2022 Just wanted to give a huge shout out to woolworths and Stuart, the store manager at Woolworths cranbourne east, for rallying all the stores in his area to donate to our wildlife! Over $800 worth of donations! It is such a privilege to work along side a company that is working just as hard as we do to support our native wildlife and volunteers! If you are a local to the area, be sure to shop there knowing you’re supporting a store that supports your local wildlife carer/shelt...er! Thank you Woolworths cranbourne east!

08.01.2022 Wildlife Carers across the state are struggling with the amount of animals they have in care. Spring has been an extremely busy time this year. Baby possums and fledglings have made up most of our calls with joeys and injured Roos next. Baby birds are fledging which means they are leaving the nest to learn to fly. They do not need to come into care unless injured. Please do not take them. Place them on a branch near where found.... Anything injured will need to be assessed by a vet before coming to a carer. A possum should not be on the ground. It will also need to be vet assessed. You can help our carers by following the above. It takes a lot of time and money to hand raise our wildlife. Please support your local shelters at this terribly busy time Another carer friend of mine posted this, i had to share as the majority of the calls i have taken this week have been calls for fledglings that are learning to fly or possums that have been brought in by animals. So please do not think i am rude when i advise you to take the animal to the vet (if animal is injuried or been brought in by your dog or cat) as it is best to get vet assessment and treatment first.

07.01.2022 This is disgraceful and so sickening to hear.

They were absolutely stunningly beautiful and are some of the best creations i have seen. https://www.facebook.com/bunchdbotanicals/
