25.01.2022 A sad loss for the Wistow community recently when long-time resident and contributor to community affairs, Jo James, passed away on Good Friday. A beautiful funeral service last Thursday at her old church in Burnside was a fitting tribute to a grand old lady. Barb wrote the following summary of Jo's time in Wistow: The Wistow Community and District has played a very special part in Jo’s life. She was a country girl at heart, having grown up around the Benalla district in nor...Continue reading

24.01.2022 Hi friends Don't forget the Wistow Community Association meeting at the Hall tomorrow (Thursday 6th February) at 7.30 pm. Hope to see you there.

24.01.2022 Hi Wistow friends Please keep your eyes open for a 7 month old black Labrador puppy missing from 1246 Wellington Road Highland Valley. Phone Jason on 0402266972 if you see him.

24.01.2022 Anyone passing through Wistow just now will notice activity in the vicinity of our hall. Council has been very active in upgrading our community hub: The little triangular park opposite has been cleaned up and has new trees and picnic table. The bus stop outside the hall is currently being moved and the road verge levelled which will greatly improve safety around the hall. As part of the works the old hall fence is being replaced and vehicle entry realigned. Councillor Tess M...inett tells us that Morning Star Road is also slated for some work. Thanks to Tess and the Council team for doing so much to beautify our village. See more

23.01.2022 Hi Wistow friends Wistow Community Association will be holding a General Meeting on Thursday 6th February at 7.30 pm. We'd love to see a good attendance so please come along if you possibly can.

23.01.2022 Late notice I know but if you can make it the WCA has a General Meeting tonight at 7.30. I know president Sam would love to see a good turnout to talk about the future directions of our association.

22.01.2022 Hi Wistow friends. Please remember that the AGM for the Wistow Community Association is on this Thursday evening at 7.30 pm in the hall. All welcome. Covid19 restrictions are in place and social distancing must be maintained.

21.01.2022 Wistow Community Association has hit the front page of the Courier this week. Sam and Dennis have been providing home made pizza for members of the community. Delicious!

20.01.2022 Hi Fellow Wistonians, In light of the current recommendations from SA Health on social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), it has been decided to postpone Happy Hour which was planned for this coming Friday at the hall. ... As a community association, we are committed to protecting the health and safety of our members, and feel that any gathering of people has the potential to put members health at risk. It’s unfortunate, given that we had to cancel the last Happy Hour due to the bushfires, but the welfare of our members must be a priority. If you are feeling concerned, or isolated, and need someone to chat to, please feel free to give me a call on 0411 312 496 or Kath on 0413 150 011. Stay well, Sam President WCA

17.01.2022 Hi Wistow friends It's time we emerged from the covid fog. The WCA Committee is planning to hold a Happy Hour on Friday 12th March from 5.30 onwards. Bring your own drinks and nibbles and come along to catch up with all the friends you haven't seen for a while.

15.01.2022 We hope all our Wistow friends are having a safe and peaceful Easter in this difficult time. The Hall, like all public venues around the world, is closed until the virus situation is under control and we can gather together safely.

14.01.2022 Don't forget to add this to your calendar and call Sonya to book.

12.01.2022 Anyone passing through Wistow will notice a fairly major change to the road frontage. Contractors from Mount Barker Council have built us a new post-and-rail fence with a new wider entrance. The road verge has been leveled and consolidated. Next stage will be the bus stop being moved further back opposite the Cafe.

Drop in for a drink, stay for a chat. Details below: Friday 20th December From 5.30pm till the lights go out (8ish) BYO Drinks and Nibbles. Hope to see you there. Cheers, Sam

11.01.2022 In spite of Troy's efforts during the drought one of the Agonis flexuosa (WA Weeping Myrtle) along the carpark fence has succumbed to the recent tough seasons. It has been removed and could make a good site for the new signage about the environmental tree planting soon to grace the paddock.

09.01.2022 Hey Wistow friends Don't forget the Happy Hour on Friday. Just let Sam know if you're planning to come.

08.01.2022 A great evening at the Wistow Hall tonight. Our regular Sunday church group hosted a barbecue raising funds for solar powered light kits for midwives in the Congo where electric light is often not available.

07.01.2022 Hi Wistow friends. Have you noticed the new addition outside the Bakery/Cafe? A fox and cub have appeared atop the sign by the takeaway lane. Is this some obscure reference to the "Wistow - Where the fox that" bumper stickers originally produced by Jim Fowles? Apparently the sculpture was donated by longtime member and supporter John Pfitzner. Thanks John for adding to the new look Wistow!... Check it out next time you're passing or stopping in for a coffee. See more
