25.01.2022 Is our Food Industry Making us Sick? https://www.eatrightforlife.com.au/is-our-food-industry-ma/

24.01.2022 Who doesn't love some Jelly right?? But oh...the sugar and the artificial colours and flavours in the packaged stuff!! But did you know, you can make Jelly very easily and it's actually good for you!! Simply squeeze or blend up some fresh fruit. Then heat it a little bit in a pot and add some pre-soaked gelatin, tip into moulds or a glass bowl and allow it to cool down in the fridge! Done!... Gelatin is very healing, especially to the digestive system. And you can use any fruits. Here I used some mandarins from my tree, but you could try blending up some berries. Experiment with flavours and you don't need to add any sugar at all!!

17.01.2022 So exciting to watch my new wicking bed grow so well. Finally I think I have the right plants, for the right location, using the right growing method! Soon I will be able to harvest my own lettuce, spinach and basil, knowing they haven't been sprayed with pesticides and herbicides.

13.01.2022 Potatoes are a nutrient bomb when prepared correctly. Cook them first by boiling, steaming or roasting and then let them cool. This is where the magic happens and the resistant starch is created. You can then eat them cold or reheat them, like I have done here, by pan frying them in butter to give a crunchy crust. Now you have a delicious dinner and you are feeding the healthy bacteria in your digestive system! For more information about the nutrition of potatoes, have a read of my blog post https://www.eatrightforlife.com.au/should-i-eat-the-potato/

11.01.2022 Sometimes dinner needs to be light and easy! Packed full of protein, this meal includes an organic rye bread, some avocado and butter for healthy fats, some organic home grown greens, and a poached egg from our backyard happy chooks. Quick, easy, delicious and packed full of nutrition.

06.01.2022 On special at Aldi this week is this multi-purpose food processor. I purchased one of these last year and personally, for the price, I think it's great. I can make my Smoothies with the blender, nut butter with the grinder, my protein balls with the main food processor and much, much more. If you don't have a food processor and can't afford the normal ones that cost over $200, this might be a good investment for you.

02.01.2022 Another form of meditation or relaxation (or sometimes frustration), is stacking rocks. Concentrating, deep breathing and focus.

01.01.2022 Do you ever stop and appreciate your surroundings? Maybe your own backyard is full of happy creatures or maybe a nearby park? Where ever you find yourself, take a moment and breathe. Deep breathing will turn off the stress response, allow oxygen deep into your lungs and allow you to remove all that carbon dioxide. Find a moment each day, to breathe down into your stomach and let it all out. Look around and you may even find a host of little creatures that you didn't realise were there!
