15.01.2022 Ho Musan Ida (WithOneSeed) nurseries in Baguia, Timor-Leste are bulging with saplings ready for planting. There are 18 nurseries growing trees for the only certified carbon farming program in Timor-Leste Gold Standard. The Ho Musan Ida program this year is rolling out a new technology to assist in the managing of the new forests. Each tree will be tagged with an RFID chip and a smartphone app will record data about the species, growth rates and carbon stored. This will introduce a new level of transparency and accountability into community forestry and carbon accounting.

14.01.2022 WithOneSeed community forestry encourages women participation in all aspects of the program. Women lead the management team and women plant and maintain trees in the new forest.

10.01.2022 Yesterday tree farmers from the WithOneSeed Community Forestry program in Timor-Leste gathered for the annual tree payment meeting. More than 950 farmers are involved in replanting the forest around Baguia and they have more than 150,000 trees under management on their smallholder farms. Payments have been being paid since 2012 and this year saw nearly A$100,000 (US$68,000) paid directly to the farmers, both men and women. Around 30% of the Baguia population benefit financial...ly from the tree payments. The income is raised from the sale of carbon credits on the international carbon markets. WithOneSeed is the only internationally certified carbon farming program in Timor-Leste and it is also the largest community-engaged carbon farming program not only in Timor-Leste but the Asia Pacific. 07.01.2022 Today in Dili a US$3 million contract was signed to roll out the WithOneSeed community forestry program across Timor-Leste. A partnership with the xpand Foundation, Foundation Ho Musan Ida and Oxfam in Timor-Leste with the funds provided by União Europeia em Timor-Leste will build a national Gold Standard certifiied carbon farming program over the next 4 years.

02.01.2022 We at WithOneSeed like to think we do 'earth day' every day. We have been replanting the forests of Baguia, Timor-Leste since 2010. We are very keen to be transparent and accountable and that is why we are Gold Standard certified. We also track all the trees planted by smallholder tree farmers using simple technology. TreeO2 is a community forestry management system that provides us with accurate data to manage the community forestry program. Happy earth day!!
