25.01.2022 What a beautiful day to be out seeing this lovely family. After a challenging couple of weeks with this little man, todays chat was all about "What's Normal!" Emotional ups and downs, crying unsettled periods, sleep patterns, feeding patterns and most important of - trusting yourself. He is just gorgeous and both mum & dad are doing a fabulous job xx *... * * * * #midwife #privatemidwife #empoweringwomen #pregnancy #birth #baby #breastfeeding #womancenteredcare #withwoman #withyou #wellwoman #mumlife #ohthelove! #photomoment #breastfeeding #hanginthere #motheringsupport #midwivesbabies See more

24.01.2022 It is important to balance your pelvis and uterus in pregnancy as this will help your baby align with you!

22.01.2022 "Some days, my work as a Midwife is just magical and it blows my mind. There are days when I am tired, disheartened and not really too sure why I am at work and then there are others where, for whatever serendipitous reason, I am meant to be at work to care for a particular woman. Friday was that day!" 21.01.2022 When a baby is born, two new lives are created, that of the baby (child) and that of the Mother! This life of the Mother is challenging at times, but also is filled with love, joy and happiness in seeing that baby and child grow into independent, resilient and loving young adults. This role of the Mother is such an important fulfilling role, it will be your greatest achievement. As you sit and celebrate being a Mother today, no matter how young or old your babies/children are, no matter where your children are, reflect on all the joyful moments and know what a wonderful life you have created. Happy Mothers Day!

21.01.2022 It certainly does!

21.01.2022 Many young men often worry how they are going to manage becoming a new Dad. Many men these days have not had a lot to do with newborn babies, held a baby, let alone changed a nappy or even clothing. I often find once a new Dad has been shown how to do all of these things, they just run with it and feel amazingly happy when they achieve this. It is so nice to see women feel super proud of their partner holding and caring for this tiny human being with big manly hands and seeing the love in his eyes for this baby he has helped create. Dont under-estimate yourselves Dads, you are an extremely important person in the life of this baby and child. Happy Fathers Day!

20.01.2022 Hormones do incredible things to our bodies!

20.01.2022 Your days dont have to be boring and unfulfilled during this period of lockdown. Schedule in different activities and make some special memories you can look back on to show your little ones what times were like. Be inspired!

19.01.2022 Yes! You are xx

19.01.2022 A lot of new parents are often unsure how to correctly position a carrier or sling so their baby sits safely. This page is a great resource and has some really good videos too. I loved wearing my babies, especially when I had a newborn and a toddler to cope with - it did make life a little easier.

18.01.2022 Even though many things around us seemed to have slowed down or stopped, my business hasnt. Happy Sunday! http://www.withyoumidwifery.com.au/to-our-community/

14.01.2022 I remember ooing and aaahing with my small ones when they first started making sounds ...... you do feel a little silly to begin with, but then it becomes like a game and you realise they start talking more and more just so you can join in

14.01.2022 This is a very clever simulation of how a baby will get thirst quenching milk and nutritive fatty milk throughout the breastfeed. Never doubt yourself or your baby for that matter.

14.01.2022 They wont remember the material things, but they will remember how you made them feel. Love them, hold them and make them feel safe

12.01.2022 Feeling isolated and alone, often in the middle of the night, an unsettled baby can sometimes break you. Sometimes there isnt a lot that will calm your baby, but try to remain calm yourself, hold them close and just support them. There are also resources available, like COPE, to help and support you, the parent.

11.01.2022 Do you have a midwife? The best outcomes for you and your baby are achieved through care from this one special person who will teach you, support you, care for you and advocate for you every step of the way.

10.01.2022 If you are able to start doing some of these things earlier in your pregnancy, you will find it easier and easier as the baby grows and you will sleep better and move better .....

10.01.2022 Have you been offered a stretch and sweep by your care provider and dont really understand what that is? This video offers a really good representation of how the membrane around the baby is stripped or swept away from the edge of the cervix. However, the cervix does need to be open a bit for this to be done successfully - hence the stretch component! If the cervix is still closed it cannot be stretched

06.01.2022 As of 24 July 2020, the position for maternity patients coming to The Bays remains unchanged. Partners or a support person are welcome to stay for the duration... of admission. We are however encouraging that partners or the support person minimise their movements in leaving and returning to the hospital as much as possible. We thank you for you cooperation during this time. Wethe community #caringforthepeninsula #thebayshealthcaregroup #lovewhereyoulive See more

06.01.2022 Dignity in Maternity Care is Respectful Care Dignity is a touchstone concept in human rights, ethics, politics, philosophy and Respectful Maternity Care. Human... dignity is inalienable right, based on the inherent human worth of a person. Hence, pregnant women should never be treated as a means to the ends of others. Dignity is the opposite of humiliation and shame. Dignity describes the felt experience of being valued while the innate human vulnerability to shame and injury is acknowledged and addressed. Dignity is the internal state of peace, that comes with the recognition and acceptance of the value and vulnerability. In maternity care this dual focus on the woman’s value and vulnerability is key to the concept of dignity, where the recognition of the woman’s value is based in the acknowledgement of her vulnerability to harm and humiliation. In maternity care, dignified environments and processes are those in which both the woman’s values and vulnerability are acknowledged and accommodated simultaneously, where she is recognised, understood, treated with safety, fairness and accountability. #SafeMotherhood4All #RespectfulMaternityCare #MaternalHealthMatters #pregnancy #MaternalHMatters #mother #baby #maternity #pregnancy #pregnant #expecting #birth #normalbirth #motherhood #grandmother #expectant #childbirth #MattersMaternal #birthtrauma

05.01.2022 {LIGHT TOUCH MASSAGE} Did you know that light touch massage is one of the best ways to help release Oxytocin? Oxytocin is the 'love hormone', and our bodies rel...ease it in large amounts at the start of labour, when baby is born and during breastfeeding. However it is important to keep it flowing throughout our birth by ensuring we feel loved, safe and nurtured. Lots of kind words and light touch massage (which we teach in the Positive Birth Program!) will help keep that love flowing! @rebornfromwithin #hypnobirthingaustralia #hypnobirthing #hypnobirthingpractitioner #positivebirth #birth #positivebirthmovement #birthwithoutfear #empoweredbirth #birthwithconfidence #pregnancy #pregnant #childbirtheducation #baysidebirthing

04.01.2022 The way we interact with and respond to our babies during the early years has an immense impact on their resilience and ability to cope with change as they mature and get older. Infant mental health matters.
