20.01.2022 October 29th marks 15 years since my father passed away from a Leukaemia called Mycosis Fungoides. "It is the most common form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. It generally affects the skin but may progress internally over time. Symptoms include rash, tumours, skin lesions and itchy skin." My Dad, Stephen Goodwin first started presenting with symptoms in his late twenties and was originally diagnosed with psoriasis. He was properly diagnosed in his early thirties when I was 1 or... 2 years old and had his first round of chemotherapy and radiation therapy around the same time. The only way for me to describe the disease is horrific and it took it's toll on my Dad mentally and emotionally long before it took his life in 2000 when he was aged 49. From today till the 29th I want to honour him by creating #awareness and hopefully raise some money. It is as simple as taking a selfish/photo with you making an L over your and posting it on Facebook or #Instagram add a sentence bout who you are doing it for and the Web address below so people know where to go to make a donation. L for #leukaemia and L for #love let's spread the love for #survivors, those fighting Leukaemia, those that have lost their lives and their loved ones. #DONATIONS help pay for accommodation and #support services so that patients can have their #family with them during treatment. It is because of those donations to the foundation we were able to stay in Brisbane whilst #mydad had a bone marrow transplant and they organised my schooling to be done through the hospital as I was in my final year of school. www.leukaemia.org.au See more
