18.01.2022 What a day National Tree Day 2019 was. 1,100 native trees were installed by our dedicated volunteer crew yesterday. We finished the day off with a much deserved sausage sizzle for the hungry workers. ... The efforts we put in most definitely helped to enhance the unique and special biodiversity of the Mater Dei native wildflower regereation area and we can’t thank you enough #nationaltreeday #planetark National Tree Day #cumberlandplainwoodland #conservation

18.01.2022 This story only scrapes the surface of what is being achieved at the Mater Dei property by Wivenhoe Conservation and the Sisters of the Good Samaritan. A very big thank you to Toolijooa Environmental Restoration for all your crews hard work and effort on site. Please enjoy! ... https://vimeo.com/369987520

17.01.2022 Come along this Sunday for our monthly get together, we will be focusing on weed identification and watering our installed native plantings. All are welcome. We look forward to seeing you!

14.01.2022 We have made the decision to postpone the monthly Landcare get together until further notice. The health and safety of staff and volunteer team members are paramount, and we have chosen to take this drastic yet important step to close to the monthly Landcare group sessions for the time being. Thank you for your understanding, and stay safe.... Many thanks for everything you do. We will see you soon.

09.01.2022 Looking for something fun to do with the kids today? Come along and help us in our journey of conservation.

07.01.2022 Swift parrot (Lathamus discolor) Federally listed as critically endangered and considered endangered in NSW, it is recognised that there are only 1,000 breeding pairs left in the world. A gorgeous medium sized parrot with a brilliant bright green body, and a crimson coloured face and wings. They are very fast in flight and rather noisy too. ... The Swift Parrot is one of only two migratory Australian parrots, leaving their breeding grounds in Tasmania to over-winter on the mainland. They inhabit grassy woodlands and in this case, the Mater Dei biobank conservation areas - Critically endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland/Eucalyptus River Flat Forest. We are blessed that these birds choose to stop over in the grassy woodlands that we are conserving and enhancing for our unique biodiversity every year on their journey. A fantastic sighting today - (video credit: Brendon Levot).
