20.01.2022 We have some new babies at the park this week and they’re growing very fast! If you’ve visited the park you will have seen the large amount of Cape Barren Geese that live here. These babies are definitely a good sign after the fires and they’re very happy roaming the park! #authenticki #satourism #australia

10.01.2022 It’s great news for the island today. The Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail will reopen to walker’s tomorrow. The trail is now the KIWT - Fire Recovery Experience until such time that the rebuilding is complete post bushfires. Our accommodation and daily transfers to the trail are available for bookings now. Numbers are limited for each day so bookings are essential. The scenery is stunning and you get to experience the resilience of nature and it’s ability to recover from the fierce fires that ravaged the island late last year.

09.01.2022 We finally had our first guests back at the park over the long weekend and it was so nice to see new faces back again! Our long weekend guests got to experience our first tag along tour of the Flinders Chase National Park. It was a nice surprise for our guests as we kept it as a nice surprise for them and they all loved it. We are exclusively running tag along tours of the Flinders Chase National Park for our guests until it opens again as normal. Thank you to the people from Adelaide/SA and our locals for always supporting us.

07.01.2022 ONE YEAR ON... Jan 3 2020 was an awful day, evacuating the park hoping for the best, only to return to the worst. Luckily for us we have been able to rebuild and plan for bigger and better things. Most of the buildings and infrastructure have been rebuilt and restored with only our own personal house and office/shop to be rebuilt in 2021. The wildlife numbers are back up and continuing to surprise us that so much survived the heat of the fire. Animals really do have the bes...t survival instincts. We are very thankful to everyone who has helped over the past year and continue to help now. The list is way too long to thank but you all know who you are. Even the smallest support and kind words have been received with the greatest gratitude. Now let’s hope that Covid-19 will bugger off so we can have more and more people visit us in the future.
