22.01.2022 I think that should just about cover us. I know its not how wed like to present our winners, and our winners certainly deserve more than we can offer at this time. With that in mind, Thank you all for checking out our Presentation Day as such, and congratulations to not only all our winners, but also everyone who played a part in making any portion of Cricket happen in our area.... We are heading into a situation that none of us have had to deal with before, so please get around your mates (not physically) at this time. Give them a call, check in with them and make sure theyre doing alright. Keep safe, and look after one another. We are all in this together. The sooner we (as a society) can do the right thing, the sooner it will be over. Cheers WMCA Executive

16.01.2022 Hi all: Have chased up a few FAQs: Saturday morning is the COVID-19 club webinar Wednesday night (Country forum) is different. This is with Board/Andrew Ingleton... Thursday night is the 2nd club webinar (which is the same as the Sat COVID-19 session) Hamilton: By the way, those of you who have clubs playing on school ovals they are now no longer to do so as per Education Dept. directive. I lose 5 grounds here. Kelvin: Have we received this formally (or should we) from Education? Paul Milo: No we havent received anything formally but I will get someone from Emmas team to chase this up. In the recent webinars we asked clubs to reach out asap to their councils & schools to check ground access and in the LGA webinars we highlighted this possibility that some schools ovals may not be available - so any assistance councils could provide to help would be greatly appreciated. Obviously impossible for councils to be able to cover all grounds if all schools are closed until xmas or term 1 next year. When we hear anything further we will pass this on. Colac: Is there a minimum signage package? Who decides how much signage is needed? Associations and clubs dont want to spend more than they need? Paul Milo: The ReturnToCricket website has some package options for clubs to consider but there is also a range of free downloadable posters, they could choose to not buy a package and could buy hand sanitiser / wipes etc. from Woolworths. Best place for them to discuss their plans is with their council as there is no minimum required from our end. The extract form the COVID-19 Officer guide in the latest draft of the doc to be released on Friday states Ensure the club has ample signage at matches / training and COVID-19 equipment. In addition to any products / signage that the council may be able to supply, gain support from the club to arrange for purchase of signage and cleaning products noting a range of signage and COVID-19 products are available via DHHS, Cricket Victoria & Cricket Australia. If councils are supportive, clubs could download plenty of free downloadable posters and purchase enough sanitiser / wipes to get them started and this might be enough especially if they are only opening toilets. Noting they could always buy down the track. Also worth noting that the $1,500 State Government grant (that most cricket clubs in Victoria received) and the Grassroots Cricket Fund from CA/ACA (up between $1k-$2k per club from $2m in total) can be used on COVID-19 purchases too. And various other grants are available too (shade etc.) More information via https://www.cricketvictoria.com.au/clubs-support/grants/ Keep asking the questions . . . if not sure. Hopefully, pretty precise by the weekend. Regards Kelvin PS: Associations, if you have not provided the VCCL with your up-to-date contact details, please do so asap.

15.01.2022 Dear Western Waves Association Presidents & Secretaries, Cricket Victoria representatives are meeting with Sport & Recreation Victoria and VicSport today. A key consideration is how the latest restrictions determine the roadmap for a return to cricket (including training, wicket preparation, use of masks, travel restrictions) - specifically in Regional Victoria.... As you can appreciate, we want to make sure that any advice and guidelines coming from Cricket Victoria is correct. Please be assured that when we have clear information regarding the possible return to training and playing cricket, we will pass it on as urgently as possible. We expect to be able to provide an update to you in the coming days. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to reply to myself/Ben DeAraugo and we will ensure that any specific queries you have are being considered. Regards, Tony Caccaviello Cricket Manager North & West Country

07.01.2022 Dear Western Waves Association Presidents & Secretaries, No doubt most of you have received the below update from VCCL (peak body) but we are keen to ensure you are receiving the latest information. (If you are not on the VCCL mailing list, we recommend you contact Keith Thompson on the email address below to make sure youre on their list too). ... With reference to the attached document from Cricket Victorias Paul Milo - Head of Member Services, I want to emphasise the following specific to Regional Cricket: Training & Playing Dates Actual: No training & playing now - but allowed as soon as we hit step 3 for Regional Victoria based on the regional roadmap. This could be announced by the Premier inside the next week or so subject to case numbers Recommendation: If affected councils & clubs are supportive (and appreciating turf may be later if pitches arent ready in time), currently earmark an October 17 start to allow adequate time to bed down COVID-19 protocols for clubs to return to train for a few weeks and perhaps a practice match on October 10 to test match day protocols before a round one start. Outstanding matters We remain keen to hear back from the State Government ASAP on the following: Clarity on when turf wickets can be prepared; Request for equipment sharing to be allowed in Victoria (currently banned under CA protocols); & Clarity to ensure that the current outdoor fitness limit of 10 for exercise / recreation will not impact cricket match team numbers. We currently expect normal team numbers for sport will be ok but clarity is being sought Note: No State Government decisions have been reached on these items yet We will provide further advice and a template COVID-19 Plan that Associations and Clubs can simply add their logo to and adopt in the coming days. It will be important that Associations and Clubs understand what theyre committing to in the Plan and Cricket Victoria is planning to deliver webinars specifically aimed at Association administrators, Club volunteers, Local Government Authorities and umpires in the coming weeks to provide further clarification and guidance. Cricket this season is going to look a little different and we are keen to reinforce the message that cricket in a pandemic will be a privilege, not a right. As always, if you have any specific questions please dont hesitate to contact Ben DeAraugo or myself and if we cant give you an answer we will endeavour to get you one. 07.01.2022 This guide has been established to support Clubs and Associations in planning for a return to training and playing cricket when Victorian Government restrictions and health advice allows. This is a guide only and will be updated based on State Government advice when the current Stage 4 (Metropolitan Melbourne) and Stage 3 (Regional areas) are eased to a point allowing training and/or playing to recommence. As of 2 August 2020, community cricket is not permitted in any form in... Victoria. This includes all forms of training and matches. This will be in place until 13 September. Cricket Victoria and your Peak Bodies (the VCCL, VMCU, VSDCA) strongly encourage all members of cricket clubs in Victoria to adhere to the laws and directions of the Chief Health Officer. While exercise is permitted (with certain restrictions), we strongly urge all community cricketers to stay home when practicing cricket specific skills i.e. catching. While clearly this is very different preparation to what we have known previously, this COVID-19 period has highlighted the need for flexibility and creativity. Ideas for younger players can be found on the Cricket Blast YouTube Channel. Our aim is to ensure training and playing resumes smoothly when safe to do so. For that to happen in a timely manner will require a team effort. So please, follow the State Government and health advice and look out for your teammates. For more COVID-19 related information and resources view Cricket Victorias Club & Association Support page here.

01.01.2022 Cricket Victoria welcomes the news that regional Victoria will move to the third step of the Victorian Governments coronavirus roadmap from midnight tonight. Outdoor contact and non-contact sport will be permitted for regional Victorians aged 18 and under, as well as outdoor non-contact sport for adults. Cricket Victoria will continue to liaise with the Victorian Government, the DHHS and other agencies to finalise return to training and play protocols to support the move to ...the third step. Cricket Victoria recommends clubs and associations in regional areas consider a start date of Saturday 17 October which will allow time for COVID-safe plans to be in place, grounds to be prepared and teams to complete a shortened program of pre-season training. That four-week period will also allow clubs and associations to liaise with local councils, prepare their facilities and provide relevant education to players, coaches and volunteers. Cricket Victorias Head of Member Services Paul Milo said cricket was in the process of finalising the plans to return with authorities. Were still working through the finer points around training, number of groups on-field and turf wicket preparation but we expect well have more information to share there in the coming days. Well also be hosting webinars for clubs and associations over the next week to provide support and guidance as we make our way through this process, Milo said. Cricket Victoria CEO Andrew Ingleton welcomed the news. Were really pleased to see regional Victoria in a position to take this next step and start their preparations for a COVID-safe cricket season. I know how much people will be looking forward to getting out on the field and around their clubs which also provides a boost to the local economy, Ingleton said. Victorian Country Cricket League President Kelvin White encouraged clubs and associations to be thorough in their preparations. Weve got a great opportunity to set an example in being COVID-safe and a blueprint for when metropolitan Melbourne may be able to return to play cricket. Its exciting news for communities across regional Victoria where cricket is such a mainstay of their summers, White said.
01.01.2022 Dear Clubs & Associations, Fingers crossed, its looking like cricket season is around the corner. There is a lot of informational available to support you and your club to make sure you can provide a safe environment for cricket.... Please be advised that Cricket Victoria will be sending a template "COVID Plan" to all Clubs and Associations before close of business on Friday. We are currently awaiting confirmation from State Government on a couple of points including density limits for training and equipment sharing. As soon as we have received this clarification, we will release the Plan to all Clubs and Associations. The template Plan will be editable and will allow Clubs to add their name and logo to the document and adopt as their own COVID-Safe Plan to provide to Local Government and other relevant authorities who may require such documentation. To assist Clubs and volunteers in their awareness of what they are committing to in the Plan, Cricket Victoria will be hosting webinars on Saturday September 19th (10-11am) and Thursday September 24th (6-7pm). In addition to the COVID Plan webinars, Cricket Victoria have also scheduled the below webinars in the coming two weeks. For more information around times and dates see attached and to register click here.
