25.01.2022 GRAND-FINAL WARATAH Vs MEREWETHER ... @ Waratah Oval 28.3.2021 WELL DONE TAHS ON THE WIN

24.01.2022 Hi Everyone Please see the details below regarding a cricket camp in the Easter School Holidays. We have had a few of our players attend this camp in the past and we have had plenty of positive responses. Booking link is also below.

23.01.2022 U14s T20 Cancelled for 15 Dec With the current rain and the storms tracking from the north we have decided to cancel the T20 game this afternoon. This was the last game for 2020 and we resume on Tuesday 2 Feb 2021.

21.01.2022 Where are the Tahs this week? U10s vs Hamilton @ Litchfield Park https://goo.gl/maps/pT5gC9w6kNH4jtGFA... U11s vs Belmont @ Barton Oval No.2 https://goo.gl/maps/k9yXNvZtuxcvU7R29 U12s vs Wests Green @ Waratah No.4 U14s vs Wests Green @ Waratah No.5 Good Luck to everyone playing this weekend!

21.01.2022 Weekend Wrap - 14s The 14s have also made it 2 from 2 on Saturday's with a 25 run win against Charlestown. Asked to bat, Aiden (38no) and Jimmy (11) put on 31 for the first wicket. Jimmy and then Koey both given out in quick succession before Zayan (26no) steadied the ship, the Tahs getting to 2 for 68 at the break. After the break the boys upped the ante and put the team first, taking plenty of risk with the bat. Some great running between the wickets saw us eventually post... 129 from our 30 overs. Izzy opened the bowling with a few thunderbolts, taking 2 in the first over to finish with 3 overs, a maiden and 2 for 3. Archie wasn't letting him get away though, taking a wicket in the 2nd over to have Charlestown 3 for 0. Archie eventually delivering 3.4 overs, 4 for 7! The other wicket takers were Arshad (1 for 8), Zayan (1 for 11) and Jonas (1 for 6). Catches went to Satts and Archie, though Zayan showed safe hands at short cover to take 3 for the day. Arshad had a breakthrough day with the ball, bowling with great rhythm and getting some massive outswing and bounce. The Tahs need to address their bowling accuracy, conceding 16 no balls and 10 wides after a very good start and almost letting Charlestown back into the game with 3 or 4 dropped catches. A good win though and a good team effort with everyone contributing something today, whether in the field or an improvement to their individual batting or bowling efforts. 17.01.2022 Weekend Wrap - 14s On a fast outfield the Tahs were asked to bowl first against Hamwicks. Izzy picking up a wicket on the 2nd ball with Zayan claiming a catch at short cover. Izzy finishing with 3 overs 1 for 4 and a sore foot! Wickets fell regularly but our aim was way off and we consistently gave away free runs with 18 no-balls and 13 wides not helping us with maintaining the over rate at times. The wickets were shared around with Zayan, Jonas, Aryan, Dom and Aiden getting... one each and Jimmy and Izaac getting direct hit runouts to keep Hamwicks to 97, despite a late rallying effort from them. Some of our figures would have been outstanding, except for the fact that we gave away so many extras. Aiden and Jim started cautiously at first and then upped the rate to take the game away early. Aiden finishing with 43no and Jim 27no to effectively see us home. Koey and Dom coming in and keeping the tempo going as we got home by 10 wickets. A good win, but some effort needed to re-tune the bowling radars! Scorecard http://www.newcric.org.au/common/pages/public/rv/match.aspx

15.01.2022 Where are the Tahs this week? U10s vs Wallsend at Waratah No.4 U11s vs Toronto at Toronto Oval No.2... James Street Toronto, please see picture U12 vs Valentine at Waratah No.5 U14s vs Hamilton Wickham at Smith Park No.3 https://goo.gl/maps/CMaTU7n3PNxpZDod8 Good luck to all playing this week and we hope you have a great festive break. 13.01.2022 Tahs 14s make the most of playing on Waratah No. 1 Stepping up to play in the U15s NDCA T20 competition, the 14s were joined by Blake from the senior club and took the opportunity to have their first taste of playing on the main ground. Playing Toronto, Koey called correctly and asked them to have a bat. We didn't have to wait long for action, with Aiden throwing down the stumps to get the first wicket. Toronto then dug in for a while before Zayan grabbed two in two balls to... have Toronto in trouble, eventually finishing with outstanding figures of 3 overs, 1 maiden 4 for 7. He narrowly missed a 5 fa, as the Tahs closed out the innings before he could get another bowl. The family wasn't quite done though, with brother Izaan then taking 3 for 4 from 2.1 overs in another eye catching performance from the young fella. Blake also grabbed 2 for 12 from his 4, bowling fast in tandem with Izzy who was a little unlucky but provided plenty of pace for his first game on turf. Archie and Aiden got the ball to swing as well and the Tahs eventually dismissed Toronto for 67 in 17.1 overs. The energy in the field was excellent, with all of the boys putting their body on the line and fielding tightly to back up the bowlers. Zayan and Aiden took on the Toronto attack who were pretty sharp but unfortunately Zayan couldn't replicate his heroics with the ball, getting caught on the backfoot and adjudged LBW. After that hiccup though, Blake (28 no) and Aiden (28) put on 66 for the next wicket in pretty quick time, running lots of quick singles and putting the bad ball away. Aiden eventually out to a good yorker from the returning opener when scores were even. It was a very mature partnership from the pair who hardly offered a chance. Big smiles all around though, just for having the opportunity to play on the main ground, let alone grabbing the win! Scorecard http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx

10.01.2022 Weekend Wrap - 12s Undefeated Tahs continue to shine! The 12s were asked to bat by Merewether and bat we did, racking up 7/155 in a great display from the young guns. Whilst we lost Levi early, Patty held the batting together posting 19no and coming back to continue his partnership with Liam who scored a fantastic 57no from only 41 balls with 8 boundaries!... It was a top display from these young boys, taking the team from 1 for 1 to 2 for 91 by the time the next wicket fell. Ben (8no) and then Izaan (34) moving the score along before a clatter of wickets saw Patty and Liam come back together at the end to put on another dozen or so. A very mature effort to keep wickets in tack whilst posting a big score that the lads should be very proud of. Coming to the bowling Izaan was the star again, his 3 overs producing 2 maidens and 3 wickets for 1 run to leave Merewether at 3 for 2 early doors. Merewether still had to be put away though and Ben backed up his mate with 2 for 18 and was helped out by Patty and Tyron who got a wicket each. Artie was the unlucky one today, his 4 overs only going for 4 runs, but just couldn't get a notch in the wicket column. The fielding was good, Liam contributing a direct hit run out and Izaan a catch to eventually bowl Merewether out for 113 and take the win. Well done to Liam though, raising his bat for his first 50 for the Tahs. We hope there are many more mate! Scorecard http://www.newcric.org.au/common/pages/public/rv/match.aspx

09.01.2022 Weekend Wrap - U10s This week the Tahs took on Wallsend in what turned out to be a close run game. The Tahs won the toss and had a bat with Koby and Elroy bravely taking on the new pill. Everyone ended up getting a start and both Blake (8no) and Bonnie (10no) hit a 4 each! The Tahs ended up with exactly 100 to make sure they were competitive in the second half.... Wallsend had a couple of good bats who got on top and scored quickly to eventually lead by 8 at the end, however, our bowling improved with less sundries and taking plenty of wickets. Bonnie again leading the way with 3 for 10 off 4 overs and supported by Harry with 2 for 19 and Blake and Emma who got a wicket each. Emma has also contributed with 2 runouts and Blake and Koby also getting a runout each as well to show the Tahs were sharp in the field. Eli was unlucky but very straight, going for the least runs for the Tahs. A win is just around the corner.... Scorecard http://www.newcric.org.au/common/pages/public/rv/match.aspx

07.01.2022 Where are the Tahs this week?? U10s vs Wallsend @ Federal Park No.2 https://goo.gl/maps/8SEvNHtShKSweQBk7... U11s vs Wests @ Waratah No.4 U12s vs Merewether @ Adamstown Park No.5 https://goo.gl/maps/SEdosvspPswumBMh7 U14s vs Hamwicks @ Waratah No.5 Good Luck to all playing this weekend!

07.01.2022 Junior Blasters Cancelled for Tonight We are going to move our Junior Blasters program that was due to start tonight until next week. That last storm has soaked the ground and it looks like another one is behind it.

03.01.2022 Coach leads the way in Royce McCormack Cup Final Former Waratah Juniors Player of the Year and current U11s coach Olivier Koehn showed the juniors how it is done this week. Playing in the Royce McCormack Cup Final at Waratah Oval vs Charlestown on Sunday, Olivier made sure that the trophy would find its way into the Tahs hands by making a stylish 40 no opening the batting.... The Seniors were able to dismiss Charlestown for 80 and then get the runs in 20 overs to ensure Waratah some early silverware for the year. Well done Ollie, the juniors and especially your U11s are proud of your efforts!! Scorecard http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx
