14.01.2022 HOMEBUILDER GRANT - UPDATE What if I want to buy an off-the-plan apartment or townhouse? Off-the-plan apartments or town houses are eligible for the HomeBuilder Grant.... If you sign the contract to buy the off-the-plan dwelling on or after 4 June 2020 and on or before 31 December 2020 and construction commences on or after 4 June 2020 and no later than three months after the contract is signed then the property purchase may be eligible for the HomeBuilder Grant. However, if you sign the contract to buy the dwelling after 4 June 2020, and construction on the home commenced before 4 June 2020, then the home does not qualify for the HomeBuilder Grant.

03.01.2022 STAMP DUTY CONCESSION FOR OWNER OCCUPIERS The ACT Government is now offering a stamp duty concession for eligible buyers that exchanged contracts between 4 June 2020 and 30 June 2021. The stamp duty concession will be available to any owner occupiers that comply with the following eligibility requirements:... Contracts for their purchase must be signed and exchanged between 4 June 2020 and 30 June 2021. At least one buyer must live in the home continuously for at least one year, starting within 12 months of settlement or completion of construction. The concession relating to off the plan ‘units’ refer only to unit-titled apartments or townhouses. The concession relating to ‘single residential dwelling blocks’ mean the land must be vacant when you purchase it, and the land title must only allow one residence/house to be built on the land. NOTE: The concession will apply to any individual (not only first home buyers) that meet the requirements above. If you meet the eligibility requirements, there will be: No stamp duty on single residential dwelling blocks. No stamp duty on off-the-plan unit (unit-titled apartment and townhouses) purchases up to $500,000. An $11,400 stamp duty reduction for off-the-plan unit (unit-titled apartment and townhouses purchases between $500,000 and $750,000.
