15.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope you are all well, and staying in touch with friends and family during these tough restrictions! Sadly we will not be holding the Rally this year. The /social distancing restrictions have made it impossible to predict the possible numbers that can gather at any one time, and everyones health and well being is most important. This year is our 50th Anniversary which makes this cancellation all the more difficult, but we are hoping to have a celebration later in the year. So stay in touch as we will be posting right here important information such as when we will be opening to the public again. We look forward to catching up with everyone when we can, but until then please enjoy this down time, stay safe and healthy and lets make next years rally bigger and better!

12.01.2022 Wimmera-Mallee Pioneer Museum HI everyone, we had a great day Friday for our re-opening, scattered around the Perfect stove for our sausages and hamburgers, the sun shone for us, and a lovely time was had by all. Over the last few months we have been busy at the Museum... Elliot Quality Painters have spruced up the West Woorak Methodist Church, and Bruce Miller Plumbing has completed the much needed flood mitigation works for us. We have also upgraded the entrance to Briarl...ey House and the Albacutya Homestead...both are now wheelchair accessibleThere are still a couple of ongoing projects to shore up our straw shed, and renovate our post and rail fencing so please excuse our small construction areas... A big thanks to our hardworking committee members and volunteers for keeping the museum looking great over the last couple of months and getting us ready to reopen. Thanks to the Warrack Herald for our article last week, save the date September 5 for our 50th Anniversary celebrations, fingers crossed our restrictions will be lifted by then. Thanks to Les from The Argus for coming down for the event on Friday, and John Johnson aka The Blademan is eager to start working in the Blacksmith shop...John will be demonstrating every day over the School holidays so stay tuned for more details... Even though the COVID 19 restrictions remain in place,we will remain open...so jump in the car and come visit us! See more

08.01.2022 What a lovely day we had with the engineers from HMAS Jeparit! The supply ship was launched in 1964 and after being a merchant vessel for a time, she joined the Navy during the Vietnam war serving our soldiers along the Mekong river. This was not without controversy though, as the dock workers in our southern states refused to load her. Thanks to Allan for the newspaper articles I hope you could read them!... We have a wonderful display from the day of her Christening right here in Briarley House along with her bell and a few other interesting items and of course repros of the articles from the guys. Hope to see you soon!
08.01.2022 We have one of these! You can see our field Marshall in action on the Queens Birthday weekend at our annual Vintage rally and family days.
08.01.2022 Hello everyone, well its been another topsy turvy world this week with the addition of face masks to our fashion attire on Monday, and by Thursday we had stepped back in time to Stage 3 restrictions. We were open Wednesday, it was a lovely day after a freezing start, with a few stalwart travellers dropping in before the restrictions and our closure Wednesday afternoon. We welcomed three new volunteers this week. Natalia and Jaimy (with a little help from Marcell) went stra...ight to work clearing out the front garden and freshening our look with some new plants, which have had a wonderful rain to settle them in yesterday and again today. Chris also dropped in- just in time for the sausage sizzle, he is keen to help out with all things mechanical, and maintenance. Welcome to you all, and thank you for joining our growing community of volunteers, and donating your valuable time to our Museum, we hope this will be the beginnings of a long and enjoyable relationship! Baker Builders finished straightening the straw shed this week, thanks to Garry and the Hindmarsh Shire for coordinating this project for us. Now, sadly, the Museum will be closed until we get the all clear from the health department to reopen. So take our best wishes with you over the next 6 weeks, stay well, and we hope to see you on the other side! See more
