Miss Serena Tierney music teacher at the Williamstown High School started the Williamstown High School, Gilbert & Sullivan Society & produced HMS Pinafore in December 1954 and Pirates of Penzance in November 1955. The HMS Pinafore production was such a success it started the Williamstown Arts people talking, many believing a Light Opera Company was needed to further develop the students coming ou...t of the High School and others, including the budding actors within the Williamstown Little Theatre.
