18.01.2022 Women’s Coach 2021 Woden Blues are pleased to announce that Russell Fort has been reappointed as Women’s Coach in season 2021. Russ is a life member of the club and is going into his 4th year as Women’s Coach since the inception of the side in 2018.... In 2020, Russ completed his Level 2 coaching course, with the level 2 requiring a full season of Learning, Development and Mentoring. Russ is excited to work with the leadership group to set some goals and put forward a 3 month Pre Season plan for the players to take their footy to the next level. Whilst season 2020 was a crazy one, the players showed in the last 2-3 games that they are ready to push themselves for a hopefully first finals campaign. With the club opening the door to new players, experienced or not, it’s always exciting to see our women’s program grow each and every year from strength to strength. The club is excited to have Russ re-commit and look forward to seeing Russ continue to push the women’s playing group to success, not only on the field - but off as well! 16.01.2022 Reserves Men’s Coach 2021 I’m pleased to announce, after a thorough interview process, that Chris Karchinsky has been appointed as our Reserves Coach in season 2021. Chris is a life member of the club, and since his retirement in 2018, has been the assistant coach in 2019 to Reserves and in 2020 was the assistant coach in our Seniors. ... The club had a handful of applicants, which were all interviewed, and at the end, Chris was the right person for the job. Pleasingly, once the other applicants were advised that they were not appointed, once they were advised Chris was, they all agreed it was the best decision the club could make. Chris’ player and leadership abilities are proven on our club honour board as Chris has almost received every award from coaches award, b&f and what he refers to as the biggest accomplishment, players player. We look forward to continuing to see his growth as he takes the next step transitioning from a player to a full time coach. Chris is very eager to increase his coaching education, where he will attend the AFL Level 2 Coach’s course in early 2021 for a year long program. 06.01.2022 Seniors Men’s Coach 2021 Woden Blues are pleased to announce that Rick Jordan has been reappointed as Seniors Coach in season 2021. Rick is a life member of the club and coached in 2006/07/08 and after taking a break from footy, returned to coach our inaugural reserves side in 2015. In 2016, he took over the Senior coaching role from Pete Davey after a premiership year, and achieved a repeat premiership in the same year. ... 2017 Rick coached the seniors to another grand final but falling short on the day against a strong opposition. 2018 the team made finals, only to fall short in the Prelim. 2019 the team made the finals but narrowly missing another grand final appearance. Rick once again took the group during a tough year in 2020 to another grand final, only narrowly falling on the day. The club is excited to have Rick re-commit and look forward to seeing Rick continue to push the entire playing group to success, not only on the field - but off as well!
