24.01.2022 We have a few big events just around the corner. Where the best bit is they will be held at our home pool Swimming ACT Champs - 30 and 31 Jan 2021 This meet is only open to ACT Swimming member clubs so no visitors. If new to swimming please think of coming to the meet as its open to everyone with valid times dating back to 01 Oct 2019 the bigger the team the more fun all have supporting each other.... Here is the link to the entry page: https://swimcentral.swimming.org.au/bounce ACT Relays - 30 Jan 2021 This will be held before the ACT Champs on Saturday. So to assist James in putting teams together I will be sending out a survey monkey email for nominations by this weekend where nominations will close on 25 Jan. Depending on interest we will create as many relays as possible. But please note there may be times where we can't put together a full team, we will do our best to fit all in. All relay placements will be at coach discretion. The club will pay the Relay Team Entry fees. Age group and parent relays are all 4x50m Open relays are all 4x100m Speedo Sprint Series Heats 06 Feb 2021 This meet is for any swimmer up to 13 years old. The top 4 girls and boys in each event will be offered a spot in the ACT team. Where the finals will be held at SOPAC pending any COVID restrictions. 20.01.2022 A Squad Swimmers - In lieu of a session today (Thursday 6 August) please complete the Friday session attached. Note those swimming on Friday will do this set Friday night. For those who can't make this Saturday, please complete Saturday session attached.

11.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE CLUB NIGHT Short Course Format 25m FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER 5.30pm 7.00pm The pool will be set for short course (25m) for this event. Also we are looking to utilise 4 to 5 lanes and to allow the times to be official we will need 2 timekeepers per lane, so parents we do need you to assist. The plan is to run 25m, 50m races for all strokes finished off with a 100IM and if time permits a fun mixed relay to finish.... For the new and younger swimmers the 25m events are an introduction to meets, so the times wont be official but will be used to allow progress to be tracked. If you do enter a 25m event please do not also enter the 50m event too as it would be too much for your swimmer. Once they have done 25m and recorded a time we can then consider when its best to transition to 50m - don't go too hard first up. Previously we have registered for club nights manually via email or the club website but we are moving onto Swim Central for race registrations. For our new families not yet on Swim Central please send me which races you are interested in entering.and we will process manually. As soon as the meet is on Swim Central I will let you know so you can get your entries in. Lastly please don't forget that club/meet COVID protocols will be in place. So if unwell please don't attend, be mindful od social distancing and if you have recently visited any hot-spots please self exclude etc.

09.01.2022 It is fast looking like the first major swimming event will be Swim League. By all accounts a fun way to get back in the swimming competition groove. There will be an ACT version possibly in September TBC https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=891684437981019&id=369938093488992

09.01.2022 In the last few weeks we have had a bunch of sharks get back into swimming meets. 1. NSW Long Course Qualifying Meet 1 2. NSW Multi Class Championships 3. NSW Long Course Qualifying Meet 2... 4. ACT Swimming Splash Back 1 12-13yrs 5. ACT Swimming Splash Back 2 14yrs + Overall across all these events we had numerous top 10 finishes and a very strong PB conversion rate. There were medals for David B at the MC Champs and at at thenother races apart form.all the PB's rhere were top 3 finishes for James, Harrison O, Harrison B, Kurt and Nick. Ahh COVID impacts in relation to how meets are now run. In total across all the above races we had 25 sharks competiing. They swam in 71 races. And achieved 55 PB's Overall 71% Conversion Rate Massive effort to all those competing. Congratulations. Also some swimming ACT Awards were handed out too. James, Kurt, Harrison B and Habibat getting their ACT Age champion trophies and Ben getting the ACT Multi Class trophy. Great work last year team. There are more trophies to still be distributed over the coming weeks.

06.01.2022 It a wrap at SA Country Champs for James and Gen. They both had a great time and knocked out 100% PB's across all their nominated races. Where James also made it to top 10 in 50 Fly and 50 Back.... Well done to both of you.

04.01.2022 NSW Country Update Hi all James has received the below information from Kim (President Swimming ACT) relating to NSW country and COVID restrictions.... As you may have seen Swimming NSW have published the Program and QTs for the SNSW Country Championships 19-21 Feb 2021. ... I have spoken to SNSW this afternoon and they acknowledge that if the current restrictions remain, the ACT is most affected and swimmers from our region would not be able to attend. SOPAC falls within the Parramatta LGA which is currently on the ACT Government covid affected areas list. Entries open on Friday 22 January and have been delayed as long as possible in hope that the situation will improve. If swimmers enter, and are not able to attend due to covid restrictions they will be refunded, but are encouraged to wait until closer to the closing date. SNSW and SACT will closely monitor the situation, we are discussing other possible options for our swimmers in the event we can't travel and further information will be provided in due course. So in short entries open soon where you can book. But it's recommended you wait till closer to cut off as it's possible we won't be able to attend due to restrictions not lifting. Not perfect in this COVID world, but it's more info that was available days ago. Rgds Marcus
