25.01.2022 It's been a week since we had to lock the doors so we decided to ask Wodonga Osteopathic Clinics youngest team member, Jack, what he thought. We asked him two question: 1. What do you think of this whole worldwide situation? 2. What is it like having dad at home during the day to play?... We interpreted this as it's all a matter of perspective... There is always a positive aspect. If you have more time on your hands look at the positive ways you can use it close to home.

25.01.2022 With so much change happening it can be hard to begin or maintain healthy routines. You could set some healthy and achievable goals this week. Perhaps commit to playing with your beloved pet for 10 minutes at a set time each day....instead of checking Facebook first thing in the morning. (Apologies to those with goldfish or no pets at all.... I can recommend substituting with crazy dance moves to favourite music)... .... some more dog photos!

23.01.2022 Corona Quests: Part 4 with Kate 1. 'Ladie Tradie' DIY - having just knocked over a raised garden bed the next project is a chicken coop. 2. Bike riding - goal has been set at 3 rides or 100km per week. With great access to bike paths it's an activity that the whole family can enjoy.... 3. Dog training - hoping that can have her dog come when asked instead of always behaving like a cattle dog rounding people up. 4. Cooking - specifically Vietnamese dish that she learnt at a coking class. Kate has promised to bring the entire team lunch for the first week we are back open. 5. Sorting photos - organising all her photos and transferring old photos to digital. Great combination of both in and outdoor activities as ther weather becomes a little cooler and days shorter.

23.01.2022 Although the phone lines at Wodonga Osteopathic Clinic remain open for you to call us for advice or with any concerns, the restriction on physical treatments has left the team members with a bit more free time on their hands. Over the coming days each team member will be giving you the 5 ways that they plan to use (or waste) this time or goals they may have during it. Among them may be one or two ideas that you haven't yet thought of. Stay tuned!!!

22.01.2022 Corona quests! As mentioned earlier each team menber will be giving their top five ways to spend the time while Wodonga Osteopathic Clinic is unable to physically see patients. First up is our commander in chief Adam. 1. Read more. Started light with the autobiography of Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea which he recommends for any fans of their music. Now gone heavy with a Dietrich Bonhoeffer number. Hopes are to have a Tolstoy knocked over by the time restrictions are li...fted. 2. Write a poem. Current thinking is a coronavirus themed Haiku which we look forward to reading. 3. Take his own medicine by doing all the exercises and stretches he prescribes you! Hope is to return looking closer to George Clooney than George Costanza. 4. Digitally join the modern age. This will mean heaps of upgrades for the clinic from a tech perspective, all aimed to benefit all of you. 5. Practice slow living. Taking the time to slow down to focus on close relationships and things valued and make an extra effort to contact and seek out (at a distance) those in need. 6. Because he missed the memo on it being a top 5. Work on improving attention span and self discipline. We look forward to seeing how he goes with these over the coming weeks. If anyone has any suggestions they could add to the list feel free to share. Next up will be Annabel.

22.01.2022 We’ve changed the way we practice due to COVID-19!

21.01.2022 To All of Our Amazing Patients: Like you, we have been watching closely the situation with the COVID-19 Virus and the changes that are needed at this time. We want you to know that our patients, staff and families are of the upmost importance to us, and we will be seeking to do our best to keep everyone safe. ... We are following the guidelines as set by the government, and also taking cues from our governing body, Osteopathy Australia. Within the practice you will notice, among other changes: * Signage to remind everyone of their responsibility - we are all in this together. As such, please inform us immediately if you or anyone in your family displays symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever, runny nose or shortness of breath), or you’re feeling unwell * Also if you have travelled overseas please ensure you have fulfilled the 14 day self quarantine period before attending the clinic If in any doubt at all, please call prior to your appointment to ask. We can help guide you, and if required reschedule your appointment. * Our entire practice has reviewed & updated our cleaning routines to include frequent cleaning of all public areas including the reception desk and EFTPOS machine * Antibacterial gel is on the reception desk & in every room for all to use throughout your visit. We also ask all patients to wash their hands before their appointment. Our practitioners, as always, wash their hands between each patient * We have replaced our water cups with single use cardboard cups, and paper towels in bathrooms * You will notice less bedding in the practice. This is to ensure that the treatment tables are absolutely sterilised after every patient. If you require further towels for padding, or if you experience discomfort with this change, please speak with your practitioners * We have removed the magazines and toys from the waiting rooms, and have moved the chairs to help social distancing We understand that many people are feeling uncertain at this time and our aim is to keep the clinic running as long as possible. To ensure true and essential information, please stay up to date with trusted government web sites such as: https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-what-you-n https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-frequently Our aim is still to do as much as we can to keep you mobile and out of pain, whilst maintaining the standards set out by the government. Please all take care of yourselves, The WOC Family

20.01.2022 Corona Quests: Part 2 Annabel Today we have the list of 5 things Annabel is hoping to get done in the coming weeks. 1. Installing a splitter in her MX-5 race car. ... None of us here have any idea what this is, or does, but she has assured us it will save seconds off her commute times to work. We hope to be able to get a video arranged for her to explain, in detail, what this contraption is and what it does. 2. Experiment drawing facial hair on her cat*. Stay tuned for the photos of this one...either a hilarious looking cat, or Annabel covering in scratches. (*will only be tried if cat consents) 3. Has joined Chris Hemsworth's fitness app, and plans to use it! 4. Going to teach her daughter Avi sign language. 5. Spend extended lengths of time pondering the decision to purchase a white couch. During these periods of deep thought the will be hand cleaning the couch covers. The next installment of Corona Quests will be brought to you by Sarah.

19.01.2022 Corona Quests: Part 3 Sarah Sarah has taken a unique approach to the 5 things she will be doing in coming weeks by only having 1. 1. Sarah has a new horse which brings her tally to 2 horses.... This means that the 5 things that Sarah will be doing are as follows. 1. Feeding horses 2. Riding horses 3. Grooming horses 4. Training horses to behave like a horse and, in her words, "not a 600kg rabbit" 5. Stopping horses from injuring themselves to so as to remove vets phone number from speed dial.

19.01.2022 Wodonga Osteopathic Clinic closure 24/3/20. To our valued patients and friends - Amid the growing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation within Australia, the team at Wodonga Osteopathic Clinic have decided to close our doors for the foreseeable future, considering this the best option for the health and well-being of you, our valued clients, and the general public. Following a lengthy discussions with all our team members we concluded that it was ultimately in your ...best interest, and also that of your families (and our own), that the clinic close temporarily. We fully support the advice from the government and medical professionals to practice 'social distancing' and saw that there was no way for us to adhere to the recommended 1.5 metre distance between persons and still provide the best ‘hands on’ care for you. We pride ourselves on maintaining extremely high health and hygiene standards throughout the practice, however concede that the number of variables surrounding the Covid-19 virus we do feel that we can maintain your absolute safety. Whilst our routine practices of hand washing and sanitising of rooms between consultations drastically reduces risk, there remains circumstances out of our control that could severely impact the most vulnerable amongst us. We do not underestimate the impact that this will have on many of you who have charged us with the task of assisting you over the years. We understand that injuries and pain will continue in the community, and that anxiety will potentially amplify levels of pain and distress. It is for this reason that we urge you to contact us if needed. We may not immediately pick up the phone or respond to your emails but we will endeavour to respond as quickly as possible (we will have some time on our hands) and provide as much helps, advice and reassurance that we can. Stay posted as we are also looking at new and creative ways to use technology to provide support. We are eager to use phone calls as much as possible to help navigate tricky condition, and hopefully take some pressure off a busy public health system. We will provide updates on what we are all getting up to and provide useful tips on ways that people can remain healthy and pain free as activities become more limited. Lastly, as a practice we urge all of you to limit your social activities as we all have a responsibility to keep the vulnerable members of our community safe and healthy. Don't go out unless you really need to and if you do think ahead at ways you can limit the people you come in to contact with. We are so fortunate that as yet our community is not greatly impacted - let's try to keep it that way! Our health care system is doing everything they can so let's all do our bit to make their task a little easier.

15.01.2022 Corona Quests: Part 5 - Gerard 1. Master the art of nappy changing. The goal is for a decrease in time taken to change while retaining a leak free result. 08.01.2022 This is a message/plea from our local frontline medical staff at Albury Wodonga Health handling the current COVID-19 pandemic. If you have a spare 10 minutes this is worth watching as it highlights why it is so important to follow the current advice on social interaction and behavior. Our actions could have a huge impact on the broader community so let's make sure we are looking out for one another!

07.01.2022 Some of you may be spending more time at home with the family. Hopefully this leads to some wonderful creativity and smiles. My youngest daughter thought she would improve the fine features on our dogs Jasper and Benny. Enjoying a laugh together is a great way to reduce pain and anxiety- bring on the Dad Jokes! Try sharing a giggle. Adam and the Wodonga Osteopathic Clinic team.

01.01.2022 The team at Wodonga Osteopathic Clinic would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter. We hope that you have a great day, even if traditions have to be improvised a little, and that the Easter Bunny still managed to find you all. Stay Safe WOC team
