22.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT On Friday evening, the AWFA Executive and Members Committee decided to cancel all football activities for the 2020 season. This decision was not made lightly. A robust discussion took place and many scenarios considered. It is unfortunate that we cannot train or play our game this year however in essence it may be the best decision under the current circumstances. Discussions are already underway about possible summer competitions at all age groups. We ...will endeavour to explore all possible avenues and get back to football under the safest possible conditions. What this means; No more training or games Our registrar will deregister all players from the club, you will need to action the email you receive from PlayFootball Quite a numbers of members have kindly offered to give the club their refunds. We are truly humbled by this and all moneys will go towards replacing our operating losses for 2020 and purchasing equipment for the season 2021 and beyond. Information regarding part or full financial remimbursement will follow. We are still waiting on communication with Football Victoria regarding registration funds. As soon as I receive information and the WDFC finalise the reimbursement process I will be in touch again. Please understand this may be a very lengthy process so your patience is appreciated. On behalf of the Wodonga Diamonds Football Club Commitee, team coaches and managers, I would like to thank everyone for their commitment in these very trying times. 14.01.2022 Whilst the Border Mail has announced that we have permission to resume training, this is not entirely correct. We are working very hard behind the scenes and hope we will have the required paperwork soon. Cross your fingers and we might have it this week!

13.01.2022 U14 Boys No Training tonight we will commence on Tuesday night at 5pm

12.01.2022 Unfortunately due to poor registration numbers, we have had to cancel our Girls 5-A-Side competition due to start this Sunday. For anyone who has registered, please email [email protected] for a full refund. We will endeavour to get another competition going mid January 2021.

12.01.2022 COVID 19 UPDATE! FFV and Government restrictions are enabling training to return as of the 1st of June. Unfortunately this will not be the case for WDFC at this stage. FFV when releasing the return to Football plan, included a clause, that we must have permission from the land owner. While most of the AWFA grounds are council owned, our facility is owned by LaTrobe. The WDFC committee meet a few weeks ago and have put a return to Football schedule together which has been lod...ged will LaTrobe. However we still haven't been given permission to use the ground. We where hoping we would have heard mid last last week but it wasn't the case. Lets cross our fingers that the permission will be granted this week. We want to assure all our members that WDFC are doing everything they can at this stage to get all players back on the field from U5 to Seniors. It has taken many hours for the committee to work out how we can train 400+ players on three nights on three grounds. We can ensure training will look a lot different coming back managing social distancing. Once Latrobe have approved the schedule this will be posted along with how training will look in more detail to ensure we meet all requirements for the safety of all members. 03.01.2022 I’m very sorry to have to post this. We have worked tirelessly to make this season work but unfortunately it has been decided that our 2020 season has been cancelled. 03.01.2022 UPDATED REMINDER TO CLUBS At this stage we have NOT received an extension for de-registration. ALL players de-registering in the system MUST be approved no lat...er than 5pm today. ALL players pending in your system must be declined If this is not actioned full fees are invoiced (this is not within our control) *Note: For Victorian Clubs ONLY Football Federation Australia and Football Victoria do not provide refunds for their component therefore players de-registering will only receive partial refunds. If you are unsure please check with your club. AWFA are extremely sorry for this tight turnaround and have requested an extension to this deadline but have not received an extension as yet.
