20.01.2022 Winter is the peak time for heater fires, and with people and children indoors during this time, it’s more important than ever to follow some basic fire safety tips. Drying clothes and other items must be kept at least one metre away from all heating. Children must be supervised near all types of heating. Ensure a safe distance is maintained between children and heating. Keep wood and other combustibles at least one metre from a fire. All residents should also have gas heaters inspected and serviced every two years to ensure the safety of loved ones from carbon monoxide poisoning or fire.
